Affinity Pros and Cons
- Lightweight speed: Unlike Illustrator, Affinity doesn’t take up a huge amount of space on your computer. You can pan and zoom at 60FPS, access live previews and enjoy features with smooth speed.
- Flexibility: Make designs as simple or complex as you like. The Affinity Designer has an engine that can genuinely handle hundreds of objects with no lag. The company advertises “thousands”, but we didn’t put that to the test.
- Live outlines and grids: It’s easy to create accurate designs when you can create live outlines and grids to suit you.
- 'Some limitations on your exporting options for files (no AI)
- No artificial intelligence enhancements like with Illustrator

It's easy to get started, the UI is elegant, the Crunchbase integrations are helpful, and it's easy to configure to how we work. The integration with calendar and email is really helpful to make sure things don't drop through the cracks.
The analytics capacity is sorely lacking relative to a more full feature CRM like a Salesforce. You can't really run reports. I wanted to get the raw data behind all the opportunities that had moved through a given stage in a time window, and there was no way to get the raw data, only aggregates. Also, the API is a bit under-featured but it's getting better.
Tracking companies and opportunities and understanding our communication patterns with the venture ecosystem. We work more efficiently and don't lose track of stuff.
