Design is user-friendly and the learning curve is easy. Broken link location tool is helpful. Shows number of backlinks needed to rank for the first page of search term results.
No lite option for individual users. Keyword and ranking data doesn't update frequently. No backlink auditing and building tools. Not as user-friendly as SEMRush in terms of strategizing and to-do lists; user must be well-versed in SEO to understand what to do next.
Keyword research, tracking page rank for target topics, competitor analysis
This tool allows for good keyword research and rank tracking. One thing that really stands out here is that it has a great Google Chrome Extension that allows you to see important keyword information in real-time searches.
The user dashboard has improved so much over the last few years, but it still feels clunky and overwhelming. Whenever I open it, I feel like I'm staring at a bunch of data just thrown on an excel sheet - I find myself struggling to keep up with where I'm looking and the data that I'm trying to analyze.
Ahrefs is a good starter tool for SEO analytics. It helps you monitor specific websites and pages to better optimize for search engine rankings, understand where you can improve, and create a strategic plan for keywords and beating out competitors.
Keyword Tracking and Checking Volume of Keywords.
Shows wrong data while tracing traffic source on competitor website
doing Competitor analysis, Keywords tracking, Ranking of Keywords, Health score of a website, and much more
Fantastic domain monitoring and comparison. Good for ad-hoc keyword research.
Limited reporting for SEO activities. UX can be improved.
Competitor analysis, domain analysis and digital strategy.
AHREFS is my go-to tool for competitor analysis. It allows me to see my competitors backlink profile with ease. It even includes the number of follow, nofollows, .com, .edu, .gov, links and more. Definitely a good tool to have.
There is nothing that I have found to not like about this platform.
I am able to work more efficiently and analyze domains that rank on the first page much quicker.
I like the keyword summary and backlink summary tool showing competitors side by side; it helps my export and segmentation reports to look good.
The reporting user experience could be better. The reports look exactly like something you could get from the Google research tool. With a paid platform, I expect more.
Ahrefs is helping me discover backlink opportunities for multiple clients across multiple verticals, which helps with overall site ranking.
I like that the tool has a very useful historical look at your backlink profile. It allows you to track individual keywords matched to specific URL's. You can also look at specifc URL's and see how many and what backlinks you have with those pages specificly
I think that in some ways the dashboard views are a bit hard to navigate.
We are using this tool in conjunction with some other SEO tools out in the market to check our backlink history, do keyword research and help build our SEO to improve in SERPS
Easy to use and easy to do research on site, generate keyword lists and discover backlinks. If you are trying to reverse engineer a competitor site this is a good tool to use. You can discover their top traffic pages, where the links are coming from and what the keywords are.
Not sure all the data is 100% correct - some results seem completely inaccurate. It's also very expensive to use after the free trial. There could be better tools on the market that solve the same problems. I wish it could track social media links
Research competitor sites to discover the best sites to try and generate links from. It's easy to break down link campaigns from websites.
This tool is super helpful in finding organic data by domain, URL or keyword. It is great that you can find backlink data, keyword research and so much more all in one platform.
I do think that there is a lot going on in the platform so it does take a little bit to get used to. Everything the tool has is great but it can be overwhelming.
Keyword research and competitive data.
You can easily keep track of sites that have linked to your content and drill down to the specific URL where your link appears. You can also see when those links appeared and how authoritative each one is.
The organic and paid search estimators are inaccurate. The position heatmap is designed to give you an overview of rankings, but is nearly impossible to discern since it's a blur of colors.
We want to see how well our content promotion efforts are working. By using ahrefs we can prove our value to clients by showing who is picking up our content and linking.
Their best by links tool, as well as the historical data for keywords are what has kept us with ahrefs
Paid them over $600 they said I didn't (I had and showed them proof) lost alot of work from my entire team, the response was "oh sorry maybe you should move off the legacy plan" no real acknowledgement of what they did wrong. No apology for just "missing" a payment. We are moving to serankings. If a company doesn't care about its customers, we don't care about them.
When a new site comes to us, we can review the historical ranking and usually find a clue as to why they dropped or are underperformed by viewing historical ranking data by pages.
Nothing it's a terrible software, not user-friendly
Everything save your money and go with semRush
Nothing I did not help at all and it's not a good software
Features are good and helpful, especially site explorer and keyword research
The support is very poor, very slow, and cannot fix even simple issues. I had to spend hours debug the issue on my own because their support agent Lucy, not sure if human or a bot, was totally incompetent and slow
Require it for keywords and domain health tracking, it does it well if you bypass the bugs it is riddled with
