In our industry drawings are essential to built roads, infrastuctures, in manufacturing this is also used for plan. Autocad gives us the advantage to digitized these drawings ang recreate the old fasion way. It has complex tools that allow industry to select the best plan possible.
The downside is high cost, system requirements and learning how to do it.
Engineering architectures, 3D and 2d modeling features
Is widely accepted, files are compatible with most softwares, price and licensing options.
We used to have server licenses, not anymore.
Mostly compatible with any other software. Simple and complex drawings, great education and training resources available, updated every year and strong support
The best thing about this tool is, its upgrading every year and getting better and more optimized to minimize your design and detailing tasks.
The price offering for this software must be reconsidered for Freelancers as well.
AutoCAD solves problems in creating accurate CAD designs of my ideas quickly, and since its one of the widely used software with unlimited features, I can easily communicate my design with anyone.
The ability to build computer aided prototype designs upto the minutest detail for engineering projects.
The software license, albeit worth the price is a bit expensive for small scale organisations.
The 2D and 3D modelling for construction projects.
I love that the software gives you so many tools that if I was able to know how to use all of them, I would be an Ace in Drafting! Can't get enough of all the possibilities.
Mainly the cost of the product. I wished it was more affordable for the common person to be able to own and use.
Being able to use the COGO and Survey portions of the program allows me to rectify Boundary Survey work.
For AutoCAD 2D module, it is easy to learn, easy to use, a lot of shortcuts, and even easy to draw anything in our world in plain view. First of all, it is easy to format drawings with all kinds of lines for engineering use. Besides, the dimension function is straightforward and smooth to use. Moreover, the coordinate system in AUTOCAD is very convenient for importing survey data. Last but not least, you can program the AUTOCAD file to import into other software, such as ITASCA FLAC3D/ Surpac etc.
AUTOCAD 3D module is not as good as other 3D software, such as 3DSMAX and UG. Just nothing to dislike, actually. I don't have any dislike for this software as a 10+ years user.
AUTOCAD can solve most of the engineer drawing problems. For me, an underground engineer, AUTOCAD is the best value for money comparing other software, such as Surpac, Deswik etc.
I like more the precision and accuracy that it has as a program which helps me to do in precision and the smallest details and the fact that it is free for students to learn and practice. I also like the way it enables adaptation to different formats and the conversions of the formats it makes
I would prefer to have a division into categories to afford the price and from professionals who do not use it every day. Its a little bit hard to get used add-ons i had some issues during initial installation and setup, but i fix . i found solution on autocad forum
Realize the work of sketches with precision of 3 d and 2d works, the company I work with deals with the design of houses and their interior and exterior works.
Auto CAD is a design software and is the most suitable in my work, since with it I can make a planos perfectly in a simple way without having to pay an architect, I have personally used it to make the plans of my own house, in the work has helped us to design parts that we need or some adjustment that we need for some process.
It is an excellent software with a very powerful interface, so if you have never used any software of this type, you must use a video tutorial to help you use it, since it is not easy to use, its cost is quite high but the result is worth it.
The best thing about this software is that I can manage large projects with a perfect and exact finish, in addition to working in 2D, now I can make 3D visualizations which is great, with its use in the cloud function I can do team work without problems, at work we had to model a Screw that uses the steam turbine, its purchase took a long time to arrive and we used Auto CAD to model in 3D, the internal, external diameter, size and diameter of the thread, so it was very easy and simple with it, we just took it to a lathe and ready in a short time we had the screw and turbine working.
