Managing the onboarding process is made very easy with EH. Running a national business is hard enough. Onboarding new employees is so easy and paperless.
You have to pay per employee rather than a set monthly fee
No need to chase paperwork - can easily update policies and track that they have been read and accepted
Employment Hero is saving us a lot of admin time and has automated many of our manual processes, often resulting in burdensome email traffic. The staff are far happier now as they can self-manage all their entitlements and access all their important information from their phone. We look forward to our journey and adding more of the available features.
We have not been unhappy with anything so far. The onboarding did require a lot of self-discipline to get set up, but we applied ourselves and managed to get there. While this felt a little frustrating during the process, ultimately, it was better to do the setup ourselves as we know how everything fits together. In the end, we are happy with the results.
We have automated so many manual processes from employee leave requests & payroll being the largest two items. Just on these two points, we have saved around 2-3 days of labour each month.

Be realistic about the "extras" - limited functionality of some features
Compliance and onboarding are particularly good. The build your own templates are great. This is my go-to recommendation for clients looking for an affordable and easy to implement/maintain platform.
Employment Hero has everything we need in one place - We were previously using 5x systems for payroll, timekeeping, record collection, OHS - Now its all in one place!
The only frustration we have with the system to date is the separate login on the payroll side of the platform as vs the HR side of the platform - The capacity to access both sides of the system from the same login would be advantageous but this is not a major issue.
Benefits are largely tied to having all aspects of our HR ecosystem in the one place - This leads to both time savings as well as cost savings. The single subscription to Employment Hero is far less than the combined cost of our previous systems which made it a really easy sell to the business directors.
The customisation capacity across the platform as well as the level of customer support to onboard as well as maintain. My favourite is the integration with Go1 which also integrates with Microsoft Teams (something our team also uses) and the coaching tab to use with the team. Employment Hero brings everything is in one spot!
If I had to be critical, there is a steep learning curve as there are quite a few elements across the platform. This is backed up by extensive and intricate onboarding guidance from their support team as well as video material and live Q&A however is a time consuming process to not only learn but also transfer existing data. This being said, the launch is encouraged *before* everything is set up to avoid trying to make everything perfect before seeing value (potentially months) and is also incentivised by a cash back into your company Hero Dollars to get you up and running as soon as possible. It is worth it if you are at a point of real transition and scale within your business but expect it to be a long term project.
Structure is a major benefit from Employment Hero. There is no chasing random documents in a certain folder in One Drive - it's all in one place and has the UX to make it common sense. Less a realization but more a reminder - it's so important to have data integrity and be aware of how easily trackable your information is and the relevance to who needs to see it.

Combining the HR and Payroll platforms provided a complete HRIS that scalable in terms of cost and headcount. The implementation teams were very helpful.
Some aspects of the Award we use could be better implemented.

Being an HR manager, I have noticed a much speedier and more streamlined onboarding of our new team members! Not only can a contract be drafted and sent, all banking and personal details are then submitted in one the place and sent straight to our Payroll dept using Hero Pay - in this market, this is so valuable so be able to lock in successful candidates efficiently. New employees can read our policies before they start with us, learning what our business is all about. We have found an improvement in our company culture as our team members send shout outs to each to show say thanks and show gratitude to each other through recognition which then also distributes Hero Dollars to use for cool things at the Discount store! We also use EH for our quarterly review process - the templates/rating system makes life easier for HR, managers and our employees.
