InMotion Hosting has proven to be a fantastic business partner. I run my website on one of their VPS-3000 plans. The performance is unbeatable as is the price! And the support is the best I have received from any technology company, and I need a lot of support.
The are many great things to say about InMotion Hosting, but my one criticism is that their prices, while always competitive and value-driven, do tend to fluctuate.
InMotion Hosting allows my business to have a high-performance website for a reasonable cost.
What I like most about InMotion is their solid customer support and the fact that they offer SSL security as part of their service cost. I have previously dealt with another hosting service provider and their level of customer service did not match up to InMotion. InMotion has superior support, which really matters when you-know-what hits the fan.
What I dislike is perhaps the price. I have InMotion to be a bit expensive; however, that being said - they provide excellent customers service and offer SSL security with many of their packages. I have only been with InMotion for a year, so things are still in the honeymoon phase - but I am optimistic.
InMotion provides what I need for hosting services and the convenience of SSL security as part of the monthly fee. I go group hosting websites and individual websites and InMotion, overall, has reasonable packages to many different projects.
I liked that my client is satisfied with the cost of their hosting service and the service itself. Better than GoDaddy, which this particular client was considering. The pricing information was clear, the billing has been properly executed, and their customer service has been sufficient.
I dislike the shared hosting environment, which is more a matter of me being picky about which types of hosting services I use and recommend, and less about InMotion Hosting. Please note that I have not used their other services (VPS, etc).
My client has found decent shared hosting service which meets their needs. They had significant budgetary constraints, so we wound up using InMotion Hosting's shared hosting service after some shopping around. Furthermore, this particular client's website required very little server resources whatsoever.
I happen to work near their support center in Virginia Beach, and I was able to visit and talk with their support staff face-to-face and help them with product development. I mention that because they truly care about refining their hosting tools. Their AMP hosting dashboard is clean and easy to use. I especially enjoy that I can reboot my VPS servers from AMP. With other VPS providers, I needed to have support do it for me. I also like that they explicitly offer a Northern Virginia data center --my choice, so our latency is incredibly low, much lower than if we'd gone with GoDaddy (Texas) or Liquid Web (Michigan) or really any of the other west coast based and Denver based hosting providers.
My biggest annoyance is that I have to use multiple account logins to manage multiple VPS products. I wish they were all merged into one account. InMotion is aware this is a problem for some customers and is working on a solution --I got to help them test a possible solution. I also wish they offered block-level storage (scalable storage add-ons).
We simply need multiple VPS servers at a good value. InMotion was able to offer us two VPS packages at great annual prices that beat our old vendor ServInt on pricing.
They worked with us to offer the best price while still giving us the features we need. The hosting plan included some key features that we use daily including personalized email account, email forwarding, an upgraded pro Boldgrid account, WordPress, an SSL, a domain name and lots of free software included in our package. Plus their customer support is outstanding.
Other then wishing they offered us a discount for being a nonprofit organization I can't think of a single negative issue we've had using them.
They offer us an affordable web hosting plan with all the bells and whistles a more expensive company would offer at a lower price. Any issues I've had over the years I would just contact either Inmotionhosting sales or technical support and they would fix the problems.
Variety of hosting plans and options Clear pricing without giant leaps in price from signup to renewal Good uptime Good bandwidth Add-ons are affordable Excellent customer support
Not the absolute fastest hosting option on lower-tiered plans - benefits from CDNs more than others Pricing for higher speed tiers may not be competitive compared to other hosting
Affordable, quality web-hosting with a variety of plans and options to suit your needs. Excellent customer service and technical support. Consistent uptime with limited bandwidth drops during peak times.
The prices is definitely the best part. There's also a lot of the standard features that you expect from web hosting. I didn't need anything fancy so it came down to price for me.
The user interface for the admin panel is pretty awful. Somewhat hard to find things, but at least the customer service was good.
It's just a commodity web hosting product. Nothing fancy.
It offers a good cost-benefit relation. Support is good, fast and reliable.
The SSH connection is cumbersome to set up
