I was a long-term user of Clickup, but I made the decision to switch to SmartSuite, and I'm glad I did. What really impressed me was the overall feature set. SmartSuite's handling of linked records, filters/sorting, custom record layouts, and Airtable-style user interface perfectly aligned with my workflow needs. It not only caters to simple workflows but also offers deep advanced formulas, powerful built-in automations, and useful/clean styling options. The support team has been exceptional, providing me with valuable advice on features I didn't even know existed in the app.
To be honest, I don't have many dislikes. SmartSuite is still a relatively young platform compared to its competitors, but it's rapidly growing and introducing unique ideas that others haven't explored yet. While it doesn't have as many integrations with third-party apps as some other platforms, I believe that will come with time as they expand.
SmartSuite saves countly hours for me by seamlessly combining the workflows I had within Clickup and Airtable. This integration of functionalities not only streamlines my work but also introduces unique new features that directly enhance my productivity level. The ability to create relationships across my workspace, use multiple smartdocs within one record, and leverage lookup filtering are just a few examples of the amazing features. These capabilities have significantly benefited me by saving time and allowing me to accomplish tasks more efficiently.
Smartsuite is an excellent & user friendly tool that helps organize our business/goals from top to bottom.
Limited downsides, but working through a few small obstacles with their very responsive staff.
Smartsuite helps manage our backend SOPs and organizes our sales efforts through task management and automation.
The Main Thing I liked About SmartSuite Is That It Has A Lot Of Solution Templates For Almost Every Industry Which Makes It Very Easy For New Users To Understand The Process & Boost Their Productivity.
There Is Nothing That I Dislike About SmartSuite.
It Helps Us To Manage Our Projects More Efficiently, Including Better & Faster Communication Between Team Members.
I started out on my relational database journey using Airtable (naturally), but realized that I wanted to be able to easily link by "bases". SmartSuite is perfect!
It's still a relatively "young" platform, so there's no front-end solution yet. This is in the works, though....so pretty soon I won't have anything to complain about.
I've created a ticketing system for marketing tasks, so my sales team is able to fill out a simple Work Order form and my marketing team's tasks are able to move along a continuum of "Requested" to "Completed". Automations give updates regarding when work is started, ready for review, and completed.
It is a creative combination of Airtable, Evernote, Notion, Clickup, Monday, Trello, and it has some Christmas Sprinkles thrown in for Good Measure.
The downside is that you have to work on it every day and master it, which is not a dislike, but one of the ingredients to achieve success in any short-term goal. Notice learning this app is a short-term goal, not getting a PhD to learn other apps in the marketplace.
SmartSuite is forcing me to use a proven system (PROCESS) for me to SOLVE my Online Business Problems, Issues, and Hiccups.
Project management and organizational databases are typically crowded and uninviting. This software is a pleasure to look at and desirable to work with. The last thing you want is to wake up in the morning to look at an "angry" and busy screen. I use it more every day that passes by.
It is a new software with many integrations on the roadmap but not yet fully functional.
Organization. quickly finding where my stuff is and what needs to get done. I am automating 5 Hydrology and Hydraulic reports a month. I used to struggle to get one done before.
Here are a few of my favorite things (cue Julie Andrews): 1. SmartSuite allows you to design attracted "expanded view" forms for the records in a table. This largely obviates need to build custom interfaces. 2. SmartSuite lets you link records not just in different tables, but in different solutions. Brilliant. 3. SmartSuite gives me as developer really good control over access privileges for different users, groups of users, and so on. 4. SmartSuite is beautiful!
SmartSuite is still quite young (less than a year old in public release) and not quite "all there" yet. My main complaints are: 1. The library of formula functions is too limited and needs to expand. Needed especially: better functions for dealing with text and dates, and for coercing data types. 2. Forms need conditional branching.
I'm a solutions developer who works for small-to-medium sized clients, mostly law firms doing litigation. I build solutions that help my clients track their clients and all the data involved in mass tort litigation. I'm working on another project that's a bit different: a student and enrollment management solution for a small school. In the past I have worked with bigger, arguably more powerful platforms (mainly Claris FileMaker), but with SmartSuite I can achieve very good results for my own clients in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost. SmartSuite's low-code approach means I have less busy work to do to achieve solid results.
In the past, my company has used various work management software combined with other tools to maintain our day-to-day activities. While some were easily integrated with each other, we never had all the data easy to read in one place and would have to compare systems side by side to get the information we needed. SmartSuite has removed the need for us to have as many tools through different platforms. We have been able to combine our processes into different solutions and can use their dashboard system to see everything clearly at a glance. While we are still in the process of moving some of our data over, we have already noticed an increase in our efficiency and productivity. I know that as SmartSuite implements more features in the future, the system will also improve. The SmartSuite staff have always been helpful in troubleshooting questions. They have "office hours" throughout the week where you can ask an expert over a call to demonstrate something - which helps immensely. They also have an active, growing community who are passionate about helping.
There is the occasional glitch in the system, but as they are relatively new to the mass public (they have been working on the project "behind the scenes" for years), this is understandable as they are currently onboarding a lot of new customers. The automation system isn't always as straightforward as I would like it to be, but they continually adding new updates that make the process easier and more user-friendly.
SmartSuite has allowed my team to combine the majority of our work and data in one place, allowing us to work more efficiently while being able to view aspects quickly.
SmartSuite is incredibly well-built. The UI is incredibly clean and intuitive while at the same time providing an incredible amount of features.
After extensively comparing SmartSuite to ClickUp, Asana, and Monday, the only thing I'm missing is dashboards that can aggregate data from multiple lists. But this feature is already planned on SmartSuite's roadmap.
With SmartSuite, we can basically build any workflow. This allows us to streamline processes, projects and daily tasks in one digital workspace. In my opinion, every single organisation should have a taskmanager like SmartSuite.
SmartSuite has come out of the gate so incredibly strong and is already going head-to-head with other players in this space. The difference is that other players have been doing this for years, and SmartSuite is just getting started! I love SmartSuite because it is an easy-to-use (and low-cost) platform with a modern look, powerful features, and the ability to integrate in numerous ways. From basic tracking of (literally) anything to advanced workflows using formulas and automations, there is a "Suite" spot where every user will find value! The platform is easy to learn, and they have so many ways for me to do so. With help articles, videos, live chat, office hours, showcase videos, etc. (the list goes on and on), I have no problem figuring out how to do something new or make something work the way I would like. Technology aside for a moment, my absolute favorite thing about SmartSuite is the team behind it that is passionate about helping others, which drives them to continuously improve an already great product. The future is very, very bright for SmartSuite! Lastly, I will say this... if you have spreadsheets, you need SmartSuite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
With rapid expansion and enhancements for new software, bugs are not uncommon, and SmartSuite has experienced some of that. Though I will say that anything I have come across has been minor and addressed quickly, which is critical to me. I don't think I've ever used (or built) software without any issues, so the support I get is essential.
In my hectic day-to-day, SmartSuite has helped me keep my important tasks top-of-mind, allowed me to easily communicate with my team without having to go to multiple tools, and just keeps track of me and my work in general! With the gained efficiency, I can focus more time on completing the work that needs to be done instead of trying to keep track of it!
