Vyond strikes a nice balance between drag-and-drop animation creation and the ability to customize your animations, objects, and characters. It allows the creation of diverse characters and has a wide variety of pre-made scenes that are customizable. I also like that you can do some sound editing, although I use other software for that.
It is a little too pricey for most educators.
I am not able to spend the time to learn to use more advanced animation tools. I am a researcher who wants to do a little fun video creation on the side to use for science communications. Vyond is a great tool for that.
I like that in Vyond, my team can save video templates. We work collaboratively and having this option is helpful and keeps our creations branded to our company. Vyond also makes it easy to put together and share short videos. In just a matter of hours, we can create interesting video content that is ready to be shared quickly via Slack, email, or even directly in our handbook. This multi-dimensional and multi-modal learning is made much easier using a tool like Vyond. Vyond is also really easy to learn, making it a great tool for our onboarding team members to learn and use right away. There is a low barrier for entry for new users, so we can rely on Vyond as a useful and results-oriented tool that our new team members can start using right away. Vyond also helps create bite-sized learning quickly. There is a diverse and interesting bank of images and text options to choose from when building a video. The ability to brand each video is a huge plus, especially for externally facing learning content we create with the tool.
The few things that I dislike about Vyond relate to collaboration options. On my team we are constantly iterating and collaborating. If Vyond had better cross-functional editing, suggestion, and review tools, we'd be able to edit and create better video faster. I also wish that the tool had addition social learning features, like tracking views, likes, comments, etc. This sort of engagement within the video creation and sharing tool would help our team gain insight into what kind of video is most enjoyed and used by the team.
Using Vyond, my team is creating quick audio and video learning to share in Slack with our team. We're also addressing need to know/just in time learning for the organization in a creative/engaging format.
You do not have to have any artistic talent, nor do you need any programming/coding knowledge or experience. Using Vyond is a simple "drag-and-drop", but the end result is a high-quality, fun user experience. It's a great tool to create "advertisements" for our training modules.
The tool is expensive. It can be cost-prohibitive for freelancers as well as many companies who feel it is not within their budget.
It's a great way to spark interest in our learning programs. Learners are immediately drawn into the "story" of the learning, which then makes them more alert to learning more about the details. Managers and Sr. Leadership also enjoys these animations as it is a nice break from the "wordy PowerPoint presentations" that they're used to.
Allows us to make an in-house video without spending thousands on hiring someone or another company. For someone with no video experience, it's very easy to use. Adding our own media was a big-win for us.
It's a web service, so if you have a terrible connection, you won't be able to download your videos or update them without some trouble. I'd also like to see other animated characters, it's awkward when other companies videos look like our because of the same characters.
Anyone in our department can create a video. It makes it easy for us to get quick videos out.
As an amateur I can use this tool to come away with some high quality videos. It is better than GA I must say given the nuances that you can bring into your videos. Audiences(virtual or in situ) love it.
ease of building videos could be enhanced
Educational virtual content
this is one of the easiest ways to create videos to promote your business without any prior knowledge in video editing or animations. the tool is web-based so you can access it from anywhere around the globe from any device irrespective of the operating system which is pretty cool. the templates are really great, there are a lot of premade templates available which we can edit by changing colours and transitions or even change the camera zoom for our convenience. the greatest thing is that we can add our own image to make it unique and appealing. there are also a great collection of characters from which you can choose to make the animations. the character animations are also premade and animations can be added with just a click of the button. the character can also made talk with lipsync which is another cool thing about animate. when it comes to the audio part there are several ways to add audio to the video such as by recording through a microphone or text to speech which supports multiple languages. for background sound there is a collection of music availble which you can add to the video easily.
the program needs a lot of bandwidth and internet speed is an important factor when coming to using animate. the pricing isn't cheap and not everyone can afford it even thou there are multiple plans available. the basic plan even thou paid got goanimattelogo watermarked in it.
create videos to promote business.
Can make templates and share with coworkers
Not enough customization options- won’t allow insert of video
Internal training and learning
The interface makes it pretty easy to produce something fun and professional looking really quickly. Not a huge learning curve to get started, lots of presets to get you going and offers customizations for more advanced users. Video rendering and sharing is pretty quick, too, for an online based editing system.
Available toolset is simplistic. Fine tuning is difficult Managing and navigating videos is difficult. Interface does not lend itself well to collaborative work.
Not provided
ease of use. collection of characters, including animals, politicians, fantasy figures. preset voices in a variety of accents. Easy to record voices too.
can not tweak animations, or fix problems in the preset voices easily.
in higher education online modules, use to create scenarios.
Is easy to use and the result looks professional
the customization is very limited and is not possible to make very specific things
I use it to present product projects in a casual way
There's a lot of templates and pre-made characters, scenes, props and actions that make putting a video together much easier than having to start entirely from scratch.
The nature of animated video means you spend most of your time doing voiceover acting; it would be nice to be able to create different types of videos (4k aeriel footage etc) where you can provide voiceover context, rather than speaking for a specific character.
I've used Vyond to create awareness videos for Mentoring in an attempt to drive adoption of the Mentoring scheme within my organisation. The videos are different and engaging and have successfully captured the attention of my target audience.
Its very easy to use, and there are many templates provided for use.
It doesn't let me import my own characters
Make our content interesting by adding videos. very loe production time.
Liked the range of backgrounds and characters, as well as the music selections. With some finessing it was possible to make the characters complete fairly sophisticated movement sequences.
No controls over the speed of motion backgrounds, customizing backgrounds was difficult. The cost was the biggest drawback.
Makes for a nice training module. It's much less awkward to use animation rather than human actors to illustrate behaviours and work-arounds. Also used Vyond to rpduce a short resume support video. Very well-received by potential employers.
I like that there is a large library of characters and images to choose from. I also like that we can move the positions and actions of the characters. I also like that you can add actions within each video clip like a moving truck or a character running within the slide.
I wanted a chance to have the characters talk so if I input words, the characters should be able to say it out loud with their mouth moving according to the dialogue. I dislike that I can't view my previous videos after my free trial has ended because I should still be able to see my work.
I am making a cartoon for a pitch deck to raise funding for a start up company. I realized that it is a great way to sell the product because there are many templates to accomodate for all the information needed in the video.
GoAnimate is an intuitive, easy-to-use animated video creator. It takes a few weeks to get the hang of the nuances of the product, but essentially, is a very easy product to use.
Some of the functionality for uploading outside screenshots, videos, music (and editing each of those components) is a bit clunky.
GoAnimate has allowed us to create product videos and advertisement videos through animation.
Text to voice is a nice feature. also there is at least two full color character styles with different body types
Their terms and conditions have a lot of restrictions over usage of videos
Its a fast way to have a quick instructional video for visitors
I haven't been able to use it too much since my company just switched over to it but so far, we like it!
I dislike that it is not super evident that you can change the color of props in certain themes. I think maybe labeling the different features in the studio would be helpful to the user or beefing up the tutorial so people know what things do what.
I switched over from Powtoon and have been able to quickly create and edit videos. The problem of having an unreliable software has been fixed by making the switch.
It makes creating animated videos easy, instead of having to create something from scratch or hiring a vendor. Anyone can be an animator with Vyond.
There are some workflow kinks such as: you can't work on multiple projects at once, or when using the character creator you leave the project. You also have to pay for the highest plan just to add your corporate fonts.
Easy to make, sophisticated looking animated videos. It allows me to do more with my video marketing.
Videos are easy to create, the movement portion is easy to use
Some specific items that I needed were just not available, such as very specific images or certain backgrounds, or some backgrounds you can't change
More videos in our business and catch the users attention. It's more creative and different, but most people just don't like animation either.
The learning curve is fast for goanimate. I was ready to fully create a video after about an hour of noodling around.
Because the software is so bare bones, it can be limiting. For example, you can make a prop in a video rotate up to 180 degrees, but no more for some reason. It also drives me nuts that when you set up a motion path for one prop, you can't view it unless you click on the prop. That makes it really hard to have multiple props move in conjunction with each other
We wanted to be able to create polished looking videos without hiring a production team. Done.
I am pretty new to this app. I used this couple times for presentation. It is a great attention grabber. I have used it to create both long and short videos. I also used this to create a video for a presentation which turned out to be a huge success!
The process of creating the video is very very long. I feel like the process should be shorter if they have some more template to start with, but they definitely give you a lot of controls. You can choose a movement for an animated character and make a lot of minor adjustment to make it perfect which I think is one of the reason it takes so long to make one single video
Use it as an attention grabberfor presentations. Once the video is played, the audiences are immediately hooked
Language translation software, the usability of the animations in the platform.
Their sales process is challenging to work with. We spent months going back and forth with the vendor for one license on this corporate agreement. Then after we got all approvals, they decided to add in a $50 wire transfer fee and have been trying to force us to pay with a credit card. We don't have corporate cards at our company, so unless we want to start over with our PO, we are forced to pay individually out of pocket, against our process and try to get reimbursed. While it's not Vyonds fault we don't have corp cards, they have been the most difficult vendor to work with and very rude throughout the process. (Specifically Bryan). They make it their way or the highway. If they are going to do that, they need a clear process and expectations set upfront. We will be looking for another vendor in the future based on how we have been treated at renewal here, and the time lost for the team in the process of trying to work this out has been a hit for us. From a tooling perspective, it would also be great if Vyond work could flow right into articulate 360 for review or to LMS systems.
The team creates LMS content using Vyond - the team is able to simply source animations and pull them together in the video
Intuitive to use, good library of templates and characters if you are promoting marketing services
The product plans are very sneaky. Once you are signed up to a $39/month plan you quickly realize that this is completely useless, as they put their company logo on your video. You are FORCED TO UPGRADE to more than double $89/month. This makes you feel like you have just fallen prey to the worst scheme ever. They should be warning people VERY LOUD AND CLEAR as I would never expect to have any marketing logo on my videos once I'm paying for a plan, no matter how it is priced. It's a good platform otherwise, but this has sent us off to a bad start. If your video is more than 1 minute long this platform gets EXTREMELY slow and freezes up often, even with the best of computers (I have a Mac with 16GB RAM, same issues at work windows 10 PC). I cancelled and I'm looking for an offline/download solution for my videos.
Marketing videos to promote marketing services. You really can't do much more than that with a very limited library of scenes.
