Adobe Photoshop Pricing Overview

Photoshop is the only software that has all the advanced features that can be used in batches of photos quickly and with minimal input from the user. It is of course the most famous photo editing software. There are some free alternatives out there now if you are a basic user. No need to pay a ton for photoshop if you aren't using advanced features. The education discounts were great for while I was in grad school.

The monthly subscriptions are fairly pricey. Also the contract terms are fairly ridiculous. Fees for canceling early etc. Read the contract terms carefully as they renew early and you are stuck for the whole year unless you want to pay the exit fee. This goes across all the adobe subscription products. If you use multiple adobe products however it is a pretty good deal but no need to pay a ton for photoshop if you aren't using advanced features as there are some free alternatives out there. There are also some education discounts available if you are a student or a university employee however keep a look out for the price going back up to the regular price after a certain period of time without any input or notification to you. So buyer beware but still great software.

I love literally everything about Adobe Photoshop. This is the best photo editing software that is out on the market. I can do all my color correcting, cropping, compositioning, retouch, masking, and more! The features that Photoshop have are endless. It includes thousands of presets that are easily accessible to the user. For the advanced users, Photoshop is there for you too. I'm able to create layouts, render 3-D images, and more. Layer masking is probably my favorite feature as I'm able to blend different photos into one. When it comes to Photo Eidting, Photoshop is unmatched. This is the best tool for color correction and retouching and photo. I can not think of another program that comes close to Photoshop.

The only thing I do dislike about Adobe Photoshop is the price. This very robust program does come with a hefty price tag. Since it is the best photo editing program out there, I guess they are able to charge what they charge. I do like how they charge you a monthly subscription fee, but it adds up. I personally prefer the one time purchase because we are not hit with the monthly subscription cost. This is somethign for new users, but Adobe Photoshop can be overwhelming to those that are just learning the program. There is a steap learning curve when it comes to mastering this program, and there are just so many ways to use this program.

With Adobe Photoshop, I am able to bring my poorly taken photos to life. When taking pictures, the lighting is not always the best, so we have to work with what we got. With Adobe Photoshop, I am able to brighten up, add contrast, saturate, sharpen, and do many more things to bring the picture to my liking. This brings up the quality of my pictures 100%.

Adobe Photoshop is fantastic for editing and retouching photographs. I love it because it's an easy and intuitive product to learn. It's a program that's been around for a long time and keeps getting better and better with each update. The pen tool within the program is easy to use. I love all of the overlay and filter options that are available to me to use. I also love how you can set the size of the artboard.

Necessarily I'm not too fond of Adobe's pay-by-the-month price model. When purchasing the product, someone needs to buy a subscription-model plan where you pay per month. It's not a great model if someone wants to buy the product all at one time. They do give students a break from the high cost pricing model by offering a discounted rate.

Adobe Photoshop has dramatically increased my productivity and how fast I work to deliver work to clients. Adobe's photo editing software is second to none, and I would recommend it to anyone I know. Photoshop also can be used in conjunction with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator - two programs that are great for marketers and designers.

The best thing about Photoshop is that it can do such a wide variety of things. It's content-aware fill functions are a great time saver, its masking and layer tools are intuitive and powerful, and its brush and painting tools are solid. It really has very few weaknesses.

The only thing I don't like is the price! Whether you get it stand alone or as a part of CC, it costs a lot given that other apps like Krita are free and can do 80% of what Photoshop can do. Affinity Photo is an alternative that is about $50 that is highly functional as well. I don't know how they can continue to charge so much when other apps are so close and so cheap.

We use Photoshop for all kinds of things. We train students on how to make graphics for various video boards and digital signage. The power and flexibility of the program is impressive. For example, some designer may send you a graphic in CMYK mode and you have to convert it to RGB to use with a different application. Piece of cake..

I have been using Photoshop since the early 2000s. This tool is more than just photo editing software as it is mostly known for. As a fashion designer I have used photoshop to create fashion illustrations and original textile designs. Painting is actually what I do most in photoshop and the use of undo functions and layers allow the creativity to flow without the worry of making mistakes.

There was briefly a beta test with a textile design plugin for photoshop. This tool was amazing and made it so much easier to make beautiful perfect repeats from abstract designs I made in photoshop, all without leaving the software. But they discontinued the project and then advertised a 3rd party plugin to take it place, but this required another expsensive subscription plan. Honestly, for how much a subscription costs for Creative Cloud all aplications, there should be more included, or the these plugins should be able to be added for a low low additonal cost. As a freelancer you don't have a predicable income, and there is so much overhead even for digital freelancers, with all of the subscriptions for software and plugins adding up. Honestly large coorporations like Adobe are price gauging small freelancers as if we are large companies. Adobe really needs to work on their pricing for indivuals.

A catch all visual editing tool. From photo editing, to digital painting, textile design and even small video editing. It can do a little bit of everything and something I fall back to time and time again to complete my projects.

I love the new business model. As more programs move to subscription based billing - it makes it easy to weave in and out of monthly payments as a freelancer.

I feel that the pricing is still pretty pricey. I wish student pricing was standard pricing. It wouldn't be so bad if people & clients were willing to pay fair rates to creatives but so much of the work available pays so little if anything at all.

The benefit is that everyone uses it! It's a standard and thank god. I can learn Adobe Photoshop and become a lot more marketable as a freelancer.

We spent an absolute fortune on designers and now we don't need to as we do it ourselves. It's easy to use once you have spent a few hours on the tutorials and I'm very comfortable with it now.

Costs quite a bit but nothing compared to the cost of graphic designers who charge probably the same for 3 hours as this program cost.

We no longer spend a load of money on graphic designers and we can do it all. We no longer waste time waiting for design to be done as it's all done in house. It's solved quite a few issues.

Adobe has improved PS so much since I started using it in the 90's. Content aware fill is probably the greatest thing to happen to photographers or retouchers since Photoshop itself came out. Also the integration of Adobe Stock photos makes ad creation so easy.

The only downside I can think of at the moment is the price. It's either a huge up front cost, or its a monthly fee for Adobe Creative. You just have to have enough work coming in to justify the cost. It's never been "cheap". After all, it is the gold standard for photo retouching work and compositing. However, you do get what you pay for.

Creating amazing ads, editing animated gifs, making print ready posters, graphics for live streams and video productions, retouching photos. The list literally goes on and on. Almost anything you create can be made easier and better using Adobe Photoshop. There are free alternatives that will work for certain things, but for a one-stop solution that works for print, web, video, and old school photo retouching, Photoshop is the only one.
