It was the one stop shop for us to have a monitoring tool and for having a centralized logging solution.
The initial costs were too high. Later, post optimization the costs were reduced.
Having a centralized monitoring tool was the goal, we have many aws account for which the logging and monitoring solution has to be implemeted. Datadog was one of the tooling choice we had and after our initial trial, datadog was able to address all our needs.
It has a number of integrations that make it easy to work with. its use tools are powerful in market monitoring Constant monitoring allows us to have control of all our services their customer service is very professional when required of them
A very professional quality of service has been maintained where I have not had any problem that is not resolved quickly and in a timely manner.
Supervision from the cloud makes it possible to have perfect monitoring that everything is going well and that all the work is going correctly from the datadog facility

Metric monitor dashboard is super helpful in generating triggers and reports of any downtimes, excessive CPU usage etc.
They have the best UI/Interface to build dashboards and compare data metrics with each other.
They are not up to the mark when it comes to 3rd party integrations.
They are solving all the problems regarding monitoring our cloud environment and helping us to arrive at concurrent decisions in a faster way.
I'm a big fan of the time filter UI; it's incredibly straightforward and clear. Creating dashboards is very easy and intuitive. As a backend developer I can't imagine a more useful tool.
The only thing I dislike about datadog is that it's very easy to have duplicate monitors or dashboards that end up double charging the company.
Datadog makes incidents and anomalies visible and obvious. Before datadog the only way of knowing there was an outage was via customer reports.
During our automatic scripts (from Machine Learning services) we send various messages to logging, which then get sent to datadog. This is both to document various steps of the data, but also to show crashes when they happen. Then from the DataDog interface we can search for production/staging services, we can search by date, we can search by key words.
We have the logs from only the past 2 weeks, so we can not find earlier errors. But in general we catch the errors within 2 weeks, so this is not such a big limitation after all.
Record various steps in our ML process (so we can check quality of data), but also identify if there was a crash to know at which step it found. Then build dashboards that mesure the SLO of our services (like what % of requests were met, what computing resources were used).

Its subscription cost it too high with lowest of keeping 3 months data in backup with high subscription cost.
More accuracy in error tracking. More accuracy in log monitoring. Efficiency in coverage of the logs. More DB storage with less costing.
We have been using Datadog for a while and we are generally satisfied with the product. However, we feel that the support could be improved as it can be slow to respond, and the payment processes are not always clear.
The support is bad, often slow. The help is not enough. Also, many times the prices are not clear and you can get surprises on your bill.
