Comprehensive Observability: Datadog collects and visualizes data from various sources, including servers, containers, applications, and logs, to provide a comprehensive picture of an organization's IT infrastructure. User-Friendly Interface: Datadog has an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Robust Alerting System: Users can set up alerts based on custom conditions or predetermined thresholds with Datadog's highly flexible alerting system.
Datadog doesn't have mobile support. If there is an app for Datadog, it would become quite handy and II wouldn't have to carry my laptop everywhere.
Proactive Issue Identification and application Performance Optimization
Real time transactions in the application which gave a great input of the performance
It was a bit expensive, especially that we forgot to change logging from debug to info
An inside of the real user experience, dockers monitoring
the best this its supporting the postgres data base which is good for monitoring the data base easy to user , if we face any issue customer support is good. ease of integration to data base there is so many feature available in for monitoring the data base and server and appalication. easy implementation we can monitor all server and application with the help of data Dog. we can use it frequentrly for monitoring the services.
nothing to dislike. but some time support is tacking some time to reply
with the help of data dog we can monitor all the running service and data base with help of this we can find the issue and fix it
- Datadog has a suite of products that provides excellent insights into application monitoring. - Integrating with datadog agents is relatively easier to get started. - Co-relating logs, apm, and metrics together make debugging easier. - Watchdog is a great feature - Datadog's anomaly and forecast on metrics helps in identifying issues at the earliest - Developer friendly integration
- Need to monitor costs closely - Alert configuration needs to be improved - Need to improve documentation
- Datadog's dashboards enable visibility from different applications to be displayed all in one place - Debugging application issues is more manageable with metric co-relation and other DD features - Datadog's extensive suite of integrations allows us to integrate multiple applications
Datadog is reasonably priced compared to other options on the market. It provides a comprehensive set of features to track errors on your app, monitor user behavior, and gather data on your user experience.
Personally, I haven't found anything that I dislike about Datadog yet!
Datadog allows us to handle outages and incidents on our website swiftly. Our engineering team has gotten way more efficient at responding to these incidents and deploying a quick fix.
The best of the datadog is it provide the realtime time insight of our cloud and sstem infrastructure. It has watchdog insght which capable with ALand ML which detect any error in company infrastructure. The customization of the dashbords and metrics is very amzing and we can easily integarate with almost all the popular application available in the market.
The licensing cost is very high compared to other monitoring platorm and it very new to market we are not to get much documentation and learning of the tools and the advanced features. The data storage is very less we just vire data for just samll period of time.
Datadog helps us to readuce time in finding the error in the system. The real time alerting helps us to investigrate the error which can lead to large impact and can be get to outages of the system. We get all the monitoring features one place the apm monitoring, log monitoring, synthetics monitoring and lot more at one place.
User Interface is very good, easy to understand
User Interface presented by Datadog is good, found no dislikes
We monitor end to end and frontend application urls for customer, so tool is good for it
Easy to use, almost every feature for monitoring and observability.
support is not good, costing is not very straightforward.
all problems related to monitoring and observability
It is user friendly application which helps users to get logs and other details of each step of ongoing activity. It shows whether the process pass or fail. If failed then which step has error. It gives detail of each step of end to end process.
I didn't find any flaw. This is perfectly fine for me.
Showing me the details of every step.
Infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring , log management, all this monitoring solution works together for you Dashboardsa are easy , very easy, allow you to show very fast issues and explain issues and incidents
Priding , the pricing seems to be a "little" hard to understand and someetime you get overwhelmed by it , mainly with the log management solution that can suffer peaks
basically all , easier to find issues in dev and qa , faster debug of production issues , and the watchdog raises things that we didn't even think to check; it's an all-around platform
Datadog has continually improved its product to increase my visibility into my running application. In addition to raw information, their correlation facilities provide an awesome way to navigate the entier application.
The only downside to Datadog is that the raw stats do not always aggregate in an expected way. This can be discovered via early testing so that stats can be adjusted.
Visibility into my running application. This allows me to definitely answer, "Is My Product Working."
It is an all-in-one platform meaning that in just one place you'll have log management, APM, infrastructure metrics, RUM, monitors, dashboards and even notebooks so you can document everything you're doing and share it with your team. It is generally straightforward, and the Datadog team constantly releases new valuable features to improve the user experience. The agent installation is simple for every platform you'll need and has many options depending on your use case.
The lack of a log management language (such as Splunk's SPL) will not allow you to get much information from your logs unless you configure them immediately. If you work in a big company with thousands of users and dozens of teams, it will be a painful experience trying to make them follow a logging standard. In this case, a log management language will be helpful. The agent configuration lacks the option to set mandatory attributes or tags. This would help configure the agent properly, making every team follow a defined standard.
For more prominent companies, it allows us to monitor thousands of containers and pods with an easy way to visualize their behaviors. This directly impacts how quickly the incidents get mitigated because we can easily understand where the problem comes from. This helps reduce the time of outages and save money because of the same.
Tracking the application matrix to understand the feature popularity in the app, also helps us to understand user behavior and count progress on different wizards in the application, etc.
We've used the Data dog in React mobile application and based on our need we were able to do what we wanted, so no dislike at the moment.
Datadog is solving the logging, and metrics logging for the applications, which plays a vital role in understanding how the application is performing and what is popular among our audience/customers. So this is really helpful to see the metric counts records in the DataDog console and see a detailed report based on different perspectives.
I like its comprehensive monitoring capabilities, which allow us to track various aspects of our systems such as CPU and memory usage, network traffic, disk I/O, application performance metrics, and more.
Initially, it took some time for me to get familiar with the interface and understand how to set up alerts, how to customize dashboards, and how to navigate through the extensive data provided. However, the support team was very helpful and responsive in addressing my questions and concerns, which helped me become proficient in using the tool.
Comprehensive supervision from the cloud has allowed us to proactively identify potential issues and take corrective actions before they become major problems. This has resulted in improved system performance, reduced downtime, and increased productivity for our team.
We are using Datadog to grab our Nginx server logs & sending alert on 5xx status code to pagerduty. Also we are using this to monitor our all servers CPU & Memory usage.
Overall my experience is good with Datadog. Also there documentation is also excellent. they have provided all the steps with great explanation. They are little bit costlier than cloud providers AWS, GCP for monitoring & logging.
We were facing many issues in our application, while response, but we were not familiar about the issue, what exactly happening behind the seen, but when we integrated our application with Datadog, we rescued that it's giving lot of 5xx error in some APIs that we were not familiar of, then we set up alert and fixed all the things, & now it's working fine. And we are in good state regards our application side.
Everything you can think about regarding Observability is packed in a single consol.
Too much data.Needs a few interfaces to easily manage it. A little costly.
For an organization having many applications with different solutions can have a single view to check the status on one go.
Datadog has user friendly interface,it allows me to easily monitor my applications and services across multiple data sources, able to look up an specific error and determine the cause of issue. Livelogs, overall app breakup coverage, trails,CI and monitoring are the best.
There is nothing to dislike about this product.
It helps in understanding the performance of the system, applications we build.we are able to quickly identify the parts of our applications that are not scaling properly and able to fix them before they create a problem.Accuracy in log monitoring and efficiency in coverage of logs are very benefiting.
Detailing of Logs & Ease of Use also i like the easiness to implement and connect it with our System & Software.. Datadog came up with a simple yet unique software which helped me to tackle different attacks & abusive activities by our competitors.
I'm totally satisfied with the datadog & i'm going to share it with our colleagues too, so they can also use it to tackle these things if they need it. I'm totally satisfied with the services offered by datadog.
I was searching for a Metrics Software which can help me to check the detailed logs of our users when our competitors tried to sue us and ruin our business.. My develper told me about datadog & he set it up for me and now my competitors are gone out from my system as we detected & catched them same day with Log Monitoring. Thanks to DataDog Log Management.
Datadog is extremely helpful with organizing and visualizing data and data events across our client base. It helps with the implementation and ongoing client lifecycle process with alerting tools
Would love to see more support and guidance from the datadog team when we are in the platform with a chat feature or a support feature. Most of my experience using Datadog has been excellent.
Datadog is very impactful in helping the implementation process to ensure that we're receiving data and data events in good health from client's websites. Alerting tools are always clutch in letting us be proactive with QA and implementing immediate fixes.
1. Comprehensive Monitoring 2. Easy to Use 3. Powerful Analytics 4. Integrations 5.Customizable Alerts
Steep Learning Curve: While the platform is generally easy to use, the learning curve for more advanced features is steep.
Datadog also helps our organisation optimise services performance by providing real-time visibility into application performance and infrastructure metrics. This allows our teams to quickly identify and resolve performance issues, improving the user experience and minimising business impact.
It was the one stop shop for us to have a monitoring tool and for having a centralized logging solution.
The initial costs were too high. Later, post optimization the costs were reduced.
Having a centralized monitoring tool was the goal, we have many aws account for which the logging and monitoring solution has to be implemeted. Datadog was one of the tooling choice we had and after our initial trial, datadog was able to address all our needs.
It has a number of integrations that make it easy to work with. its use tools are powerful in market monitoring Constant monitoring allows us to have control of all our services their customer service is very professional when required of them
A very professional quality of service has been maintained where I have not had any problem that is not resolved quickly and in a timely manner.
Supervision from the cloud makes it possible to have perfect monitoring that everything is going well and that all the work is going correctly from the datadog facility
Easier to navigate UI. Shows most of the information and various customisable dashboard.
Steep the learning curve to understand how to customise.
Metric monitor dashboard is super helpful in generating triggers and reports of any downtimes, excessive CPU usage etc.
They have the best UI/Interface to build dashboards and compare data metrics with each other.
They are not up to the mark when it comes to 3rd party integrations.
They are solving all the problems regarding monitoring our cloud environment and helping us to arrive at concurrent decisions in a faster way.
I'm a big fan of the time filter UI; it's incredibly straightforward and clear. Creating dashboards is very easy and intuitive. As a backend developer I can't imagine a more useful tool.
The only thing I dislike about datadog is that it's very easy to have duplicate monitors or dashboards that end up double charging the company.
Datadog makes incidents and anomalies visible and obvious. Before datadog the only way of knowing there was an outage was via customer reports.
During our automatic scripts (from Machine Learning services) we send various messages to logging, which then get sent to datadog. This is both to document various steps of the data, but also to show crashes when they happen. Then from the DataDog interface we can search for production/staging services, we can search by date, we can search by key words.
We have the logs from only the past 2 weeks, so we can not find earlier errors. But in general we catch the errors within 2 weeks, so this is not such a big limitation after all.
Record various steps in our ML process (so we can check quality of data), but also identify if there was a crash to know at which step it found. Then build dashboards that mesure the SLO of our services (like what % of requests were met, what computing resources were used).
Live logs, overall app break-up coverage, trails, CI, APM, monitorings.
Its subscription cost it too high with lowest of keeping 3 months data in backup with high subscription cost.
More accuracy in error tracking. More accuracy in log monitoring. Efficiency in coverage of the logs. More DB storage with less costing.
We have been using Datadog for a while and we are generally satisfied with the product. However, we feel that the support could be improved as it can be slow to respond, and the payment processes are not always clear.
The support is bad, often slow. The help is not enough. Also, many times the prices are not clear and you can get surprises on your bill.
DataDog is a powerful, comprehensive monitoring service that helps startups and businesses of all sizes stay on top of their IT infrastructure and applications. With DataDog, you can easily monitor your entire stack, from servers to applications to databases, to get a detailed view of performance, utilization, and other metrics.
When I have any issue, we have good technicians to address our problems It has great features Simplicity Easy to understand UI Easy of installation Useful metrics
Price model, should be more flexible that's all
Data Intergration Quality
Easy setup to monitor clusters in Databricks running Apache Spark. Pre-setup dashboards help to quickly gain insights on a infrastructure level without the needs of DevOps.
The pricing on the Datadog website could be more precise, such as allowing using a calculator for price estimates
Monitoring of cloud infrastructure across major cloud providers
