Easyship charges you to use your own courier contracts. Linking your own carrier account costs $0.05 a label on Plus, $0.04 on Premier and $0.03 on Scale — and at each plan’s own shipment ceiling, that fee costs more than the subscription. On Scale, 5,000 labels at $0.03 is $150 a month against a $79 plan. The Free tier sidesteps the question by not permitting linked accounts at all.
- What it is: Multi-carrier shipping software — rate comparison, label generation, customs paperwork and tracking.
- Best for: Sellers using Easyship’s own discounted rates rather than their own carrier contracts.
- Pricing: Free, then $23–$79 a month billed annually. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Three separate meters — shipments, labels and API calls.
What Is Easyship?
Easyship is a multi-carrier shipping platform. It compares rates across a large carrier assortment, picks a courier by algorithm, generates labels and handles the parts of international shipping most tools ignore: import tax and duty calculation, customs documentation and international return labels. It integrates with e-commerce platforms, marketplaces and crowdfunding sites, and advertises pre-negotiated rates “up to 91% off”.
Three things are metered: shipments, labels on your own courier accounts, and API calls.
How Easyship Works
- Four plans plus a quoted Enterprise tier.
- Shipments per month is the headline meter.
- Your own courier costs extra, per label.
- API calls are metered with overage rates.
- Annual billing saves 20%.
- Free plan needs no card.

What actually decides your cost:
- Using your own carrier contract is billed per label, and it is the biggest line most buyers will miss. The comparison table calls it “Your Own Courier Account Labelling Fee” — $0.05, $0.04 and $0.03 a label on Plus, Premier and Scale. Ship your plan’s full allowance through your own negotiated rates and the fee reaches $25, $100 and $150 a month, against annual subscriptions of $23, $55 and $79. So on all three paid plans the label fee exceeds the plan price — 109%, 182% and 190% respectively. If you have hard-won carrier contracts, model that before anything else.
- The Free plan cannot link a courier account at all. The row reads 0 for Free, rising to 1, 2 and 3 on the paid tiers. So the free plan is entirely dependent on Easyship’s own rates — which may well be better than yours, given the “up to 91% off” claim, but it removes the choice. Even Scale caps you at three linked accounts.
- Easyship’s own discounted rates are the reason to be here, and they change the calculation. Because linking your own courier costs per label while using Easyship’s pre-negotiated rates does not, the platform is materially cheaper if you ship on its contracts. That is a coherent commercial position rather than a trap — Easyship earns on the carrier side — but it means the product suits sellers without strong carrier relationships better than those with them.
- API access is a third meter, and Free has none. Rates API calls included run 0, 2,000, 10,000 and 20,000 a month, with overage at $0.01, $0.008, $0.007 and $0.006 a call. A developer integration is therefore impossible on Free and metered everywhere else. Worth noting the overage rate improves with tier, so heavy API users benefit from upgrading beyond the shipment count alone.
- The shipment rate improves cleanly, which the other meters do not. Cost per shipment on annual billing falls $0.046, $0.022 and $0.016 across Plus, Premier and Scale — a genuine 2.9-fold improvement with no reversal at the top, unlike several products reviewed in this series. If shipments are your only constraint, upgrading is straightforwardly good value.
- “Save 20%” is accurate on every plan, marginally understated. Annual billing takes Plus from $29 to $23 (20.7%), Premier from $69 to $55 (20.3%) and Scale from $99 to $79 (20.2%). All three clear the advertised figure. Refreshingly plain, and consistent across the range.
- The free tier is genuinely usable for a very small seller. 50 shipments a month, one team member, no credit card required, with the rate comparison, courier selection algorithm, customs documentation and integrations intact. For someone shipping a dozen orders a week it is a working product rather than a trial — the limits are shipments, seats, courier accounts and API calls, not features.
- Team seats scale slowly. 1, 3, 5 and 8 members across the four plans, with no published rate for additional seats. A ten-person operations team is pushed to Enterprise regardless of shipping volume.
Who Should Use Easyship
- Sellers without their own carrier contracts. The clearest case — Easyship’s pre-negotiated rates with no per-label fee.
- International shippers. Duty and tax calculation, customs paperwork and international returns are core, not add-ons.
- Crowdfunding campaigns. Dedicated integrations for one-off fulfilment surges.
- Very small sellers. 50 shipments a month free, with no card.
It fits poorly for shippers with strong existing carrier contracts, where per-label fees exceed the subscription; for teams above eight people; and for anyone needing API access on a free plan.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- A genuinely usable free tier — 50 shipments, no card.
- Cost per shipment improves 2.9× with no reversal at the top.
- “Save 20%” is accurate on all three paid plans.
- Customs, duty and tax handling included at every level.
- Rates advertised up to 91% off through pre-negotiated contracts.
- API overage rates improve as you move up.
Limitations
- Own-courier labels cost more than the plan at full volume.
- Free cannot link any courier account.
- Three separate meters to track — shipments, labels, API calls.
- Only 3 linked courier accounts even on Scale.
- No API calls at all on the free plan.
- Team seats cap at 8 before Enterprise.
Easyship Alternatives and How It Compares
- Shippo is the closest multi-carrier rival, with per-label pricing.
- ShipStation is stronger on warehouse and order-management workflows.
- Sendcloud focuses on European carriers and returns.
- Pirate Ship offers USPS and UPS labels with no subscription at all.
- ShipBob is a fulfilment provider rather than a label platform.
The Verdict
Easyship is a capable multi-carrier platform with a real strength most competitors treat as an afterthought: international shipping. Import duty and tax calculation, customs documentation, international return labels and the ability to display duties at checkout are included from the free plan upward, and for a seller shipping across borders that is the difference between a workable operation and a stream of customs problems. The free tier is genuinely usable — 50 shipments a month, no credit card — and the shipment economics improve cleanly as you scale, from $0.046 to $0.016 per shipment with none of the mid-range reversals that show up elsewhere in this series.
The line to check before signing up is one the pricing cards do not mention. Easyship charges a “Your Own Courier Account Labelling Fee” — $0.05, $0.04 and $0.03 a label on Plus, Premier and Scale — whenever you ship on your own negotiated carrier contract rather than Easyship’s. Run each plan’s stated shipment ceiling through that fee and it produces $25, $100 and $150 a month, against annual subscriptions of $23, $55 and $79. In other words, on every paid plan the fee for using your own carrier costs more than the software. The Free plan avoids the question by permitting zero linked accounts, and even Scale allows only three.
That is not necessarily unfair — Easyship earns on the carrier side, so using its pre-negotiated rates, advertised at up to 91% off, carries no per-label charge. But it does determine who the product suits. If you have no carrier relationships, Easyship’s rates are the whole point and the per-label fee never applies. If you have spent years negotiating with UPS or DHL, you will be paying Easyship for the privilege of using them, and the arithmetic above is your actual bill.
Two smaller notes. API calls are a third meter — 0 included on Free, then 2,000, 10,000 and 20,000, with overage from $0.01 down to $0.006 a call — so a developer integration is impossible on the free plan and metered on all others. And team seats run 1, 3, 5 and 8 with no published rate for extras, so a larger operations team hits Enterprise on headcount rather than volume. Credit where due on the discount, though: “Save 20%” is accurate on all three paid plans, at 20.7%, 20.3% and 20.2% — a rare case of a headline that slightly understates.
FAQ
How much does Easyship cost?
In US dollars with the origin set to United States, captured July 2026: Free $0 (50 shipments a month), Plus $29 a month or $23 billed annually (500 shipments), Premier $69 or $55 (2,500) and Scale $99 or $79 (5,000). An Enterprise tier is quoted. Separate per-label and per-API-call fees apply on top.
Does Easyship charge extra to use my own courier account?
Yes. The comparison table lists a “Your Own Courier Account Labelling Fee” of $0.05 a label on Plus, $0.04 on Premier and $0.03 on Scale. At each plan’s full shipment allowance that is $25, $100 and $150 a month — more than the annual subscription in every case. The Free plan permits no linked courier accounts at all, and Scale caps them at three.
Is Easyship’s free plan usable?
For a small seller, yes. It covers 50 shipments a month with one team member and no credit card, including rate comparison, the courier selection algorithm, customs documentation and unlimited platform integrations. The constraints are volume and access — no linked courier accounts and no API calls — rather than missing shipping features.
How much does annual billing save on Easyship?
Just over the advertised 20% on every plan: Plus falls from $29 to $23 (20.7%), Premier from $69 to $55 (20.3%) and Scale from $99 to $79 (20.2%). The saving is consistent across the range, and unlike many discount claims it slightly understates rather than flatters.
What does Easyship charge for API access?
Rates API calls are included in monthly quotas of 0, 2,000, 10,000 and 20,000 across Free, Plus, Premier and Scale, with overage billed at $0.01, $0.008, $0.007 and $0.006 per call. Because the free plan includes none, any developer integration requires a paid tier — and the overage rate improves as you move up, which can justify upgrading independently of shipment volume.

After trialling multiple shipping applications Easyship has bowled over the competition. The patient customer service team has helped our business grow in a foreign market. The modern and easy to use program integrates with our shopfront, with a few clicks we have shipping labels at our designated shipping rules. The creation of international shipping documents also are a huge plus for us.
I would like a few more integrations with WMS/IMS, Multiple carton imports from Shopify. A duplicate shipment button. Possibility to use receiver account for specific carrier.
Due to the implementation of Easyship, administration and customer service has dropped in relation to shipping.
We run multiple e-commerce stores on different platforms. Easyship integrates easily with most major platforms. The fact that we can get rates from different providers instantly is a big plus. It has helped us make better decisions when it comes to shipping and that has resulted in faster delivery times and increased customer satisfaction.
There are a few teething issues, but so far the team has been very responsive and forthright about things that work and the ones that do not. For some of my requests that were not implemented, they shared a timeline. That is pretty good for us.
We make smarter shipping decisions now and as a result, end up saving money. Customers are happier because now they have multiple options which is fantastic. As a result, it has increased the overall satisfaction when it comes to delivery timeframes and options for our customers. We are in the process of launching a few more e-commerce stores and also operate a freight forwarding business. We are currently evaluating how we could integrate Easyship with our other projects and upcoming initiatives.
- Ease of shipment creation - Transparent pricing and cheaper rates for International shipping - Shipment tracking within 1 platform - Multiple shipping options available at 1 glance
Lack of guideline and templates for supporting documents required for international shipping: Our parcels were initially rejected for pickup by DHL due to lack of documents. Have to communicate with DHL for quite some time to finally got hold of the additional indemnity forms required for international shipments.
The cheapest local postal company we've been using is quite unreliable sometimes. Having delivery options integrated into our online store offers better delivery services with the minimal cost incurred on our end. And international customers can see the total delivery cost incurred for their orders instantly and accurately.
Easyship is super easy and syncs orders with so many e-commerce websites. It's great to offer customers different options for their deliveries and show the taxes and duties for international shipments. The pickups are easily booked which makes managing hundreds of orders easy. Great integration with Shopify with auto tracking sync.
If pickup is delayed, it should auto re-book the pickup and send customer support an email. Manually click sync Shopify, be good if this was done automatically more frequently and remove orders already fulfilled through Shopify from the Easyship screen. The new pricing subscription model isn't as beneficial as it used to be so will have to reassess the market when the stop the trials.
All of our international shipments ex Australia are sent with Easyship because it's easy with clear communication to us and customers without having freight accounts with so many companies which are tiresome and often unachievable due to minimum monthly spend.
I found shipping options that are not offered in Shopify and much better freight rates.
some delays in responding, but that's acceptable. Sending the same type of box, from the same source address to the same destination address is troublesome, very complicated. "Duplicating a shipment" means separate payments using a card, which is not only complicated, but after ordering 10 labels (10 separate payments, for 10 identical boxes) our card was temporary blocked by VISA. We had to call to resolve the situation. Please find a method to create more than one order, and pay for ALL these orders only once !!! thanks
special shipping situations.
We were in the need for a quick way to grow and don’t have the skills to do so. Easyship help us reach new milestone.
The app still have issue of layout on smartphone and i still have to use my Laptop to edit some informations
We are able to focus on our primary goal
I like the ability to view the analytics. I am able to see an overview of the shipping process in a simple format. In addition, I have been able to leverage the packing slip format for additional advertising of products and company branding.
The only issue currently is multiple line items on orders. In regards to approximately 50+ the system can get bogged down when trying to generate a shipping label.
By implementing Easyship, I was able to ensure that my international customers were able to see their custom charges prior to completing their purchase.
EasyShip provide a really great service offering and their team are always willing to help. Their online portal is great and I like how I can override a clients shipping option online to provide them a better quote.
I don't know what causes this but sometimes our clients get quoted the most expensive shipping option first. Fortunately some of come to us and we have been able to resolve, however, I'm worried about the clients that have not questioned us and simply walked away.
We now have a shipping solution in Hong Kong which we never had before.
I use Easyship mostly for international orders as the savings are substantial. As a small business without the volume, I can’t negotiate directly with shipping companies for better rates.
I’ve tried it a couple of times for domestic shipping but it’s a bit of a hit and miss for me because the actual shipping time sometimes takes a longer than stipulated - and every day counts when you’re talking about domestic shipping.
It’s helped my online business reach an international market in a more cost effective way.
The full solution - from integration with Shopify, storage, pick-pack to fulfilment - it just works seamlessly! We're saving 100+ hours a month with Easyship within the first month. The customer support is better than most of the service providers we've worked with, too.
Nothing much indeed. If I need to pick, the only "dislike" would be they haven't provided a dashboard for warehousing.
We've been a traditional brick-and-mortor B2B / retail business. With Easyship, we save 100+ hours every month and empower us with more options to expand our business.
Even though we are just a small brand, Easyship provided us with outstanding service and competitive shipping rates. They are easily reachable whenever we have any questions and/or issues with shipping. It is such an advantage to be able to provide customers calculated shipping rates and present to them a sample computation of customs charges they might have to pay. These two features allows the customers to have a more transparent shopping experience and improve their sense of security & faith towards the brand.
Would like to see more competitive rates for DHL/UPS/Fed-ex services though. Also the ability offer shipping with return labels incase the customers want to change their mind.
The ease of the shipping items to customers.
Customer service from EasyShip is awesome which makes working with them a breeze. Fast response time when you need help, and friendly, helpful advice offered. Love that the shipping rates are competitive and platform intuitive to use. I gave a 9 over 10 rating so as to leave room for continuous improvement. Great job and please keep it up!
I don;t know if there's an EasyShip mobile app or a mobile version of the website. Sometimes I'm out on errands and need to create last minute shipments on my mobile but the website doesn't seem very mobile friendly. If there is an app, please let me know. I'll be happy to donwload it. And I'm eagerly waiting for EasyShip to launch more postal solutions other than courier service on the platform.
Shipping has become much easier and more economical after working with EasyShip. If only I found out about it earlier.
Easy to use interface, various shipping options and competitive pricing.
Customer service support is lacking and hard to troubleshoot without the human touch. Also, the tracking numbers, usually cannot be found in the system of the shipper.
Shipping to overseas countries.
I am still fairly new to using this service, but since I've used easyship it's been a true pleasure to ship packages for my gifting business. The service is very user friendly and so easy to use.I primarily use this service for simply shipping out my customized gift boxes, I would like to explore the other features on easy ship and see how I can integrate them into my website background.
I wish that there were more affordable ground shipping options for my business. Easyship only gives me priority shipping options which is wonderful, but I would also like to affordable ground shipping options. I also dislike that when using USPS the ETA of the package arrival is always off (it's way way to far out and it's difficult to give my customers a true ETA) when I use priority 2 day. I'm not sure if this is the fault of easyship, but I wish it was more accurate.
Very easy to create labels and cuts my time at the post office since my label is already created I don't have to wait in line at the post office I can literally just drop it off and go on about my day.
Easy set up, usability and it does work well most of the time.
They have not thought through and fixed simple issues like: not enough fields in the shipping details, compatibility between shipper/courier's requirement and product dimensions, etc. Also, as an Easyship customer, you DON'T have access to resolve issues directly with the courier company, and you don't build up a track record with the courier service. So you have to sit and wait patiently for Easyship to respond, which can take more than 24 hours at times. So be prepared for some stressful situations. Also, I had a call once from the courier company who had internal issues with Easyship and was holding off the pickup unless Easyship resolved it. That made me very uncomfortable - and remembered the 3rd party risk - my money goes to Easyship before it goes to the courier company. But for now, I have no other viable alternative.
Shipping options for clients. Referral to fulfillment centres in other parts of the world.
Automates the fulfillment process, saving a lot of time for me and my team. Customer service is great-they respond quickly and are helpful.
Could be more features-for example tying in insurance capabilities.
Shipping, fulfillment automation
Integrated with Shopify and orders are updated with shipping statuses automatically. Rates are competitive, with no credit commitment.
The need to key in dimensions 14 times for a new item that customers buy 14 pieces of. There should only be the need to key in this information once.
Local and international shipping with better ease and rates. We can offer our overseas customers better judgement on shipping rates, helping them make better purchase decisions.
Overall a good app and service. They compare courier charges and you can choose the cheapest or fastest or let your customers choose.
I can see they are slowly trying to improve their features. Some limitations still exist in terms of more complex features such as tailoring "free shipping /discount shipping per country", but I suppose that may come in time. ( i hope!) I had two BAD experiences with their courier partner Aramex and it took more than a month to resolve. Easyship says they are putting in a claim for me but I haven't heard back yet on the status of this. But all in all, I am happy with this service and have recommended it already.
They compare courier charges and you can choose the cheapest or fastest or let your customers choose. Good blogs on the mysteries of customs and internal shipping that was a big puzzle to me when I started out. Even the big guys with FedEx and DHL etc couldn't answer my basic questions!
I love that Easy Ship has allowed me to offer multiple shipping options for my customers, all with transparent pricing. My customers have a better idea as to when they can expect their order to arrive and if duties will be payable upon arrival and there's no surprises for anyone.
I wish I had a better ability to create return labels for my customers and I wish there was better ability to set country level rules.
My company ships to dozens of countries and Easyship has streamlined the manual process of calculating how much to charge my customers for standard and express shipping. It also gives my customers more flexibility to select a shipping option that suits their budget and timeline - a win/win as far as I'm concerned.
Dash board is simple, easy enough to navigate
Sometimes items marked as delivered that aren't.
Saves time.
I like that easy ship is super simple to use. I also like that when I had first got easy ship the shipping was fast. However, it has started to slow down a lot.
I have had an issue with one of my packages, and have not got a response back. I have insurance on my package, yet it seems as if this is not an issue for them. My customer is not pleased, and neither am I. It is making my small business look bad to my new customer when it comes to shipping.
My issue with a missing package
Unparalleled in terms of ease of use for the platform and speed at which shipments get processed. Love that my clients get tracking info via email.
Only after selecting a shipment with a pick up option do you see the additional cost of the pickup. My labels are not always sent directly to my warehouse and I sometimes have to resend manually.
Shipping to our customers all over the world and keeping all of the data in one place.
Diverse shipping options and good pricing.
I had signed up for the service with an option to include 2 couriers. They then changed their plan and dropped one of my couriers without any notice. Tech support is slow.
Shipping via Woocommerce shopping cart.
Discount shipping. Repeat shipping manifest with all details filled in.
Zero customer service. Impossible to talk to anyone. Generic email address to which questions are never answered.
Only benefit is discounted shipping more than going via courier company directly based on my volume.
Time to deliver my international packages.
They always overcharge me. I make sure my packages are with the right weight and dimensions. I get a price, pay for it and always they do adjustments saig that the amount paid was wrong. I have been sending packages for more then 2 years using Home Delivery courier and never had any problems
None
easy to work with, and able to sync orders from Shopify and Amazon
unable to create labels freely, return labels can only be created by existing shipments.
shipping hub for the company, able to integrate using Zapier
Shipping items is quick and simple to do. Once I import all of my orders, I can easily select them to ship after entering simple details such as packaging size!
It would be much easier to put in the packaging dimensions instead of the item dimensions. I don’t need an algorithm to tell me the box to use when we use pretty standard boxes for all orders. I would rather have preset box dimensions. Also, the shipping label options need an upgrade. Printing the labels are a pain.
The service is free which is great. No other problems being solved with it at the moment.
It was helpful, when it worked properly with shopify
plugin for woocommerce doesnt work no reply for days from their support, no email or phone number to call for help
generating the lables for shipping, caluclating shipping fees live
The system looks great but it has way too many issues.
The support, knowledge of the support, and information on use.
Easyship is so close to being a really useful and great service. But there is a communication breakdown at many steps. We wanted a service that could send surveys to our kickstart backers and handle all shipping needs. That is what we thought we were getting; instead, I have been having to hold hands and execute this project every step of the way, which is a waste of my time and not what we wanted. Additionally, Flat Export, OrangeDS, and Passport are all so bad they should be removed from your platform. If this had just been a UPS, USPS as the only option this would have been slightly better but with the added headaches of trying to get support on missing packages from the offered couriers this whole thing has turned into a frustrating experience. Support never followed up on emails multiple times and instead just left us hanging for solutions on why Easyship was having problems. This is not what we wanted to be doing at all.
Nothing - this app is all smoke and mirrors. Dozens and Dozens of calls and emails with support to resolve bugs and glitches. You pay to ship something but that does not mean someone will deliver it. Terrible!
Everything - Several packages go out and disappear - no support - no explanation - no help. Terrible support. Weeks go by with no response and you have ti keep bugging them over and over to do their job.
We wanted a platform to simplify our international shipments but this is a joke. What good is a shipping partner if they do not deliver packages, regularly misquote rates and then hit you up later with extra charges - terrible!
