Evernote Reviews: 4.4/5 — Solid Choice

I believe in having a place for everything. Evernote excels at being my place for almost anything that can be digitized. When I get a business card I scan it with Evernote's iPhone app, and the information gets added automatically to my phone contacts. When I have an idea, it goes into an Evernote note where I can add in all the context I need, like tables, PDFs, links, and photos. The Web Clipper is very useful for filing the content of a webpage into your notebooks. 95% of the info I need to record on a regular basis can be stored in Evernote. This means I know exactly where to go for a piece of information that I've saved.

The table functionality within notes was recently updated. It works quite well for recording basic data best displayed in a table format. What I wish is that data could be copied more cleanly from Excel to Evernote. Copying a range of cells from Evernote to Excel works perfectly, but not the other way around. When pasted into Evernote from Excel, the cells do not form the nice Evernote-style table and instead form a table missing borders and the ability to easily format.

No one has time to dig through a filing cabinet of papers when attempting to locate a particular number in an otherwise-forgotten paper document. When I need a piece of information from the past, I search Evernote and find it. I would suggest you let your competitors fumble around for that lost sticky note while you get the information you need and move on with your work.

Synching across devices and n\multi-media

UI could be a bit better. Note filing as well.

Taking notes from anywhere on any device easily and incorporating hand drawings and hand notes allows on the fly documentation of meetings, interviews, locales, etc. Unlimited device synching has allowed the addition of any device growing as I need to. Note sharing is a great feature that puts this easily on the level with Google Docs.

Well, there are quite a few great features incorporated into this product but some of the highlights include easy of use, reliability, stability, the ability to add multiple attachments to a note, the ability to hand write with a tablet, touch screen laptop, or smart phone via stylus, and the voice record option. Extremely versital!

Quite honestly there is nothing I would change.

The ability to keep logs of all events is a great thing for sure.

I love how I can constantly change how I am using my Evernote. I am always organizing it in ways that help me keep my thoughts in order. I can also use it for both work and my every day life, but still keep these two things separate.

It took me a long time to figure out how exactly to use the product effectively in my every day life. When you first open the product it can seem extremely daunting, but once you figure out exactly how to use it you'll wonder what you did without it.

Keeping track of all of our client information. We have around 100 clients and I have been able to keep notes clean and track the work we are doing for them in my Evernote.

If you are serious about going paperless, evernote is flexible and easy to use- best feature is teh advanced search function with premium. Can search attachments and handwriting. No need to organize notes, just search for what you need

Mobile app can run a little slow on iphone even when all notes have been downloaded ie search so you have to be patient which is annoying

The best things about Evernote is that updates everything in live time.

It can be disorganizing if you create too many sheets or notebooks. You must have a single use for it.

Evernote helps our team keep record of our meetings and keeps tab on everyone's assignments.

I love this app because it allows me to instantly jot down a thought, plan or note from anywhere. This app is very easy to use. I also love how there is an app not only on my computer but on my phone. I can honestly say I use this app more than any other app not only for work but for anything I need to take notes on. Highly recommend!

I honestly can't say I have any problem with Evernote. I have used it since 2015 and loved it since then!

I can take notes in every meeting I am in, I can quickly write down any task I am given, and I often use this to plan out my content strategy for that week.

The syncing across every device I own and ability to make different notebooks and add tags is incredible. It's also kept some of my coworkers from making notes in 9000 different places and helps gather them in one place.

The limited licenses can be frustrating, and I've seen auto saved drafts create conflicts within themselves if i ever am going through an area with limited wifi access which is frustrating to say the best.

It's keeping notes and groupwork easier, you can tag people and let them collaborate (depending on your plan) and it syncs up with Gmail flawlessly.

Evernote is effective across the board. It's great for taking notes, and recording information for my organization and personal business.

The thing I like best of ever note is the ability to auto-sync across all my devices seamlessly; all you need is to download the app on your device, login and voila! You have all you noted there! Nothing else to be done. Nothing to configure, nothing to upload, every thing is automated.

That now to have more that 3 devices, you have to pay. But even paying this app worth's it.

All my important notes, info, ideas are on Evernote; I do not need to have a piece of paper or a notebook, all I need is my Smartphone or Tablet. I login and I can access my notes, I even can attach pictures to my notes, to make the info more clear. NO matter is is for personal o professional use this is the right app to keep your notes safely.

That the desktop version of the app doesn't look like the web app. It's not HIPAA compliant.

Everything. I store raw forms there (to be given to clients). I have saved ALL my notes from 20 different classes in grad school, will use it for generic notes for clients, resources for those I help, and a million other uses I'll find this year I'm sure.

It is the perfect place to store your team's ever-growing pile of snips, clips, notes, passwords, scraps, ideas, and you name it.

At one time it was lightning fast, so you could use it the way you use a pen and post-it laying around ... a quick tap and you're there ready to dictate or type in a note.

I am a graphic designer. We use Evernote to collaborate and brainstorm about small changes to the design/brand.

Evernote gives me the ability to upload virtually anything in order for me to keep track of meetings/notes/to-do lists, etc.

The only way to get Evernote in more than two Platforms is to pay for Premium

It has given me the ability to store all of my work information in a cloud based setting.

I love Evernote. I use it daily for business, school, and personal use. I have all my documents stored on Evernote. I love that Premium is offered but not mandatory. I love that it has a chat option for sharing work with coworkers. I'm so grateful to have an app that syncs across all my platforms. All in all, Evernote is a 10/10.

The app has been crashing on my phone nearly every time I've used it since this summer. This is frustrating, but usually after the 2nd or 3rd attempt at opening the app it will work again.

Evernote allows me to set up my office anywhere. I've worked in other countries and states, on vacation, and while waiting for meetings without having to carry all my paperwork and computer everywhere with me. Evernote is SO convenient.

Multiple App options. I can keep lists of things more organized and access them easy. Also, sharing with other is great. We even use for keeping track of recipes as a family, I take notes on various books I read to use quotes for later use, I use it for business to keep track of various articles on web and strategies for teaching that I find while browsing web.

Only once had an issue with syncing from iphone app. It never did and I when accessed from another computer number of notes where completely lost. I believe they've streamlined this since or at least made it more obviously how to double check that it actually is syncing.

Streamlined note taking when stock phone app doesn't cut it. Need to access it everywhere and it is safe.

Evernote allows me to mix and merge my media into well organized notebooks. I can access them using mobile devices like my iPhone and iPad, as wells as desktop computers. Notebooks are created by topic or other high level describer like client names, etc. Then multiple notes for are created within that notebook. When I want to share one of my notes, a click of the icon is all it takes to share with others.

I don't care for their pricing structure as it hinders those who would like to use it on a small scale basis.

I'm able to organize my significant activities with non-profit organizations, educational pursuits, and personal focus areas into one place that better helps organize my thoughts. Time effectiveness is gained.

I have all in one place and can do full text search even in my handwriting notes. Capturing everything from any device in seconds by just taking a photo is easy and just two clicks away.

I love that I can dictate my notes from sessions quickly while walking or driving via my cell phone. It makes it easier to stay on top of record keeping.

Sometimes the dictation does not record when I am stating, however this may be more of a phone glitch.

I like the simplicity the best! I also use their Search function a lot, because I take TONS of notes! Using the Search function gets me to where I need to be quickly. And that’s important when I’m trying to jot something down before I forget it. The interface is so simple, yet beautiful. It’s not complicated or overwhelming. They offer the same text capabilities as any other document interface (formatting options, bullet points or number lists, linking, etc.). Users have the ability to upload PDFs or other documents to their notes, as well as connect Evernote to Google Drive for linking relevant projects. It also has browser extensions that allow you to save a web page, in its entirety, with just one click.

Every now and then the auto-save creates a new note with the same information in. That can be a little frustrating to clean up.

Professionally, I have notebooks for partnerships, vendors, marketing campaigns, internal meetings, how-to’s and useful videos/articles (I use the Web Clipper for this one). Within those notebooks, I have a note for each item. Within that note, I track updates. For example, if I have a call with Vendor A, I’ll search for that vendor’s name before I hop on the call. The search function will take me to the specific Vendor A note, which is organized in my “Vendor” notebook. Within my note, I’ll record the date and purpose of the call, and then use the bullet-point function to keep track of our conversation. I take all meeting notes in Evernote, as well, so that I can easily reference them later. Whenever we have a new Feature Release, I’ll take notes in Evernote of the internal unveiling so I can easily relay the information to my clients without forgetting key points. Personally, I use it for journaling, recipes, and keeping track of important phone calls, account information, or notes from pediatrician appointments.

Easy to use on phone and computer platforms, excellent document photo feature on the phone that automatically crops and lightens documents, making taking pictures of documents a breeze. Easy to categorize saved documents and notes.

Once you take a picture of multiple documents it's not possible to attach all documents in a note to email, you have to download each of the documents individually and upload them one by one.

Evernote makes things much easier with organization including business cards.

Evernote has built its reputation by offering wonderful notice taking software so my work can be more productive and organized. I appreciate the simplicity of taking note on my mac and using different functions such as different pointer color, night mode, font scaling, presentation, voice recording and work chat. I also appreciate the reasonable price: even premium subscription is affordable and reasonable with unlimited sync cross devices, large note size, convert to pdf. Hand-drawing sketches on iPhone are quite useful as well.

I don't think you can use the hand-drawing function on MacBook, only iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Also, the grammar and spelling checking failed to work couple times and I have to reinstall the software to solve the problem.

Conferences, seminars, online training. All these online meetings required note taking and presentations. Evernote is easy, efficient, and professional. I used to take note on paper and later have to scan and email to everyone which took longer and sometimes people couldn't recognize my handwriting and drawing, and the worst part was I couldn't recognize either. What a nightmare.

You can choose different fonts and colors, and it saves as you work.

Evernote is great to keep track of conversations and notes when you have a lot of different conversations each day and are running from meeting to meeting. It lets you create higher level folders and then subfolders within those to stay organized. The software is easy to use, FREE, and accessible on all your devices.

Really not a lot to dislike about this tool!

Helps me stay organized and easily find notes and information really quickly. I work in account management and it is incredibly helpful to have account notes at my fingertips.

Occasionally have syncing issues across platforms.

I use it at meetings to take detailed outline notes and minutes.

The organization of this app is great. I love having different folders for notes and how easy it is to get a new note started. The share option is also great for pushing out notes to team members.

It's odd that you can't hyperlink text, and if you can, it's not easy to see how.

I use it to take meeting notes, build to-do lists, and as scrap paper for creating content.

Images and drawings can be easily added.

To share, the recipient must have an Evernote account. It may be better if they can view a type of screenshot before downloading Evernote to access and edit.

Easy way to quickly create documents across devices.

The format of the software allowed for a truly organized feel. I was able to compartmentalize different aspect of work responsibilities under different categories. Creating different pages and notes allowed for a truly smooth flow of business. I was able to feel more satisfied with my work when I could cross off bullets on my to-do lists and task pages.

I wish there were more effective reminder options for task lists. Making the lists is important but if there were some way to create an effective set of reminder pop-ups, I believe that would be helpful. In addition, there were occasional syncing problems between the phone app and the desktop software.

As an administrator, I have several different areas of responsibility. I had trouble keeping these separate arenas organized and compartmentalized properly - Evernote helped me solve that issue.

Easy to use User interface. It is really basic and one doesn't need to be pro at using this tool. Not at all confusing and classification selection from the very beginning of a note creation is really cool. Sharing featureis useful and require no add-ons while sharing with other user. Group chat is really cool

As of now I do not have any negative experience with Evernote. It has satisfied all basic needs and requirements and had surpass the expectancy.

Basic note keeping, Group chat, Notes categorization, reduced manual synchronization overhead. TO-DO list keeps me up to date with my work.

It is synced on various devices. clipper, merging of notes and the highlighter with copying the selected text is awesome. its easy to use. one can create different notebooks for different areas. the search features is very efficient and easy to use. The web clipper extension on chrome is a great addition.

Really awesome. am a big fan, using a premium version.

Using it to clip lines and paras to merge and make a single a single note. multiple users in team share images and notes which are editable....makes it easy to collaberate.

This multi platform software has made many areas of my life vastly more time efficient. My financial and tax records have now become Quick and easy to manage and permitted me to do away with receipts and other hard copy record keeping.

Have not been able to master autofiling after files are dropped into the ‘inbox’, this could well be a skill deficit on my part or a limitation of the platform.

My filing of personal and business records as well as note taking from programs like penultimate have been made significantly more efficient. Document recall and cross topic tagging to assist recall has been streamlined and error rates have been practically eliminated.
