TIN verification is super easy and 1099 uploads are a breeze. The Sovos Team is easy to work with if there ever are issues to help you thru the process. I enjoy the ability to set up multiple users for the system with varying levels of access.

We honestly haven't had any issues with Sovos or any dislikes. We have used their system for quite a few years for tax reporting.

Our 1099s are filed thru Sovos - once uploaded and approved by me, they take care of the rest. They mail the forms to our vendors and file with the IRS on our behalf. Price is very reasonable compared with other products.

Sovos currently files all of our state returns each month/quarter. They are done timely and my rep is very responsive and easy to work with. Regarding their technical help, at least one tech is excellent to work with and will solve most issues, if I can connect with him.

The initial set up was very costly, with our company being charged every time we called for assistance or were ready to set up new state jurisdiction. This was above and beyond the initial fee. Also, we use Net Suite and the two systems (Sovos GTD and NetSuite) are not working well together in identifying those clients that are tax exempt and have exemption certificates loaded, requiring us to manually override any transactions to suppress sales tax. There is also an issue with SOVOs over riding the tax calculation made by our retail web site, changing the Cash Receipt with it is imported into NS, causing it to not match the initial sale $'s on our website. The difference is usually pennies, but it does cause reconciliation problems

After you sign with them and become their customer, next year they increase their price sharply to a very high price range. And it is very tedious and troublesome to negotiate with them. And their tax person needs to be more trained and more experienced.

GTD pricing model is more expensive. They charge based on # of calls to Sovos without providing any backup for their claims.

Trying to get classify the Customers correctly and decide to bill them or not. With Cloud solution, we don't have to update on premise solution every month. The rates are always up to date.

The only thing that I like about Sovos is that they send invoices to the government, if the solution is working.

Professionalism, communication, speed, compliance, development, project management, etc. Professionalism - deadlines are not kept, nobody takes accountability for problems Communication - emails are not responded to, information communicated is clearly not understood Speed - questions and errors are not addressed in a reasonable time-frame, constant reminders and escalations must occur in order for work to get done Compliance - since go-live we've already been out-of-compliance with the mandates of the government for 2 instance an these issues have still not been corrected Development - the development and coding of Sovos is very sloppy and not what would be expected for the price paid Project Management - updates were not regularly sent, the project manager had no idea what was going on, budget usagage was not accurately communicated, overages were charged without our approval
