The best I like about using Upwork is that they help me find a job easily by using their platform. Its platform is very user-friendly and service fee is now in a low-rate status.
As of now, since 2020 of using Upwork, I have no bad experience using it. Also, I want to commend the platform for making it easy to use and find job for us.

Upworks is a site that allows me to grasp a diversified group of Freelancers with a shared purpose. I am a small new company looking for help to grow and the Freelancers I hire have work random jobs for me and I value their voices, their insights of what they can contribute to help me grow. This shared purpose is what will make our company a success and I hope many of them will continue with me as we grow.

The amount of time it takes for the money to be available is too high. Also, the 20% fee Upwork keeps from your earnings can hurt. That only goes down when you have long term contracts, but the people like me that work per contract with many different clients have to pay that 20% almost all the time.
With Upwork I've been able to develop my own business and live from it. I'm my own boss and I can tackle everything my own way. It hasn't been easy, but it is worth every single fight

The fees are quite high at 20%. Their conversion rate is beyond high at 12% of 12 months earnings.
Upwork’s marketplace allows me to meet diverse, global client organizations and win contracts quickly. They cut out a big chunk of the marketing work for me, so even though I think their fees are still high at 0%, they do cut down my “unpaid” work significantly.
