"Poor customer service, Expensive: exceedingly poor value."
What do you like best about WP Engine?

The platform is easy to use. The salespeople trying to sell me their product were very polite, if not very knowledgable.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

Support staff are arrogant, generally not knowledgeable, and have a tendency to rely on excuses and scapegoating. Customer and/or tech support was never live. Instead, relying upon a ticket system and an antiquated back and forth email communication structure....is this 1996? WP provide the kind of customer service that I've come to expect from shared hosting platforms that cost 10% what WP charges. Thus, the service is EXPENSIVE, and the value is poor.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

Once upon a time, WP had a product that was unique. Now everybody offers the same product; most cheaper, most better. Better in terms of the value and the customer support, both of which are poor with WP. WP technology is no longer novel, with alternatives currently available that exceed the offerings of WP Engine, with the added advantage of LIVE customer support. With WP, tech support is no more than a few email exchanges and a day or two away. Did that sound acceptable? Then maybe WP is for you. For those who like to fix their problems immediately, without excuses or scapegoating, DON'T choose WP. Their service is comparatively expensive...meaning their value is poor. Their service agents are arrogant, and negative feedback will cause them to non-stop email you in an attempt to compensate for the poor service their company offers. Lastly the "speed" they offer you is a pipedream. My site had a D rating for speed, despite having paid extra for their apparently useless CDN software. I was advised to add a plugin. Couldn't I have done that on a shared server? Did I really need to pay a premium price for 18 months for you to tell me the speed I was paying for was ultimately determined by a 3rd party plugin?! As I started to see the poor value that I was getting from WP, I asked them to outline what exactly I was getting from WP. What I discovered is that they do not manage anything at all. In fact, they don't even do DNS. (You'll have to get your DNS from a third-party.) They’ll keep your WordPress software updated, and keep a daily backup of your site. But that is it. For what they charge, I'd assume they would offer services that are beyond what the free plugins would accomplish. Guess I was mistaken. When directly confronted with WHAT they had actually done for me, they balked. I requested, in writing, a rundown of the services they offered. He copied the text from their webpage into an email. Clearly, he had no respect for me…or apparently customers of WP in general. Lastly, the same web development professional that introduced me to WP acknowledged that the company has gone downhill significantly as it pertained to customer service in the time I'd been with them. (Going on two years). That same web development professional recommended I get the same product for less money at any number of outlets. So let's see, WP is comparatively expensive and a notably poor value. WP’s customer service is somewhere between poor and none. WP doesn't live up to hype or expectations that they themselves promoted. And everything they offer is available from their competitors for equal or less money. In short, there’s no longer anything special about WP…except its poor value.

"Best hosting platform for performance of WordPress website"
What do you like best about WP Engine?

If we are not starting from scratch with WP Engine, we have an option to migrate our website completely from another hosting provider to WP Engine. And this migration process is very easy and automatic. We can get here many security features such as when there is a plugin which can harm the site it notifies us.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

WP Engine is very costly as we can get cheaper hosting providers in the market of the same or less cost with exact specifications. So, I think they should have to work on their pricing structure.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

Earlier, we have used WP Engine for hosting our WordPress website. But then we switched as it was way too costly than other platforms. Apart from cost, it has the best performance for hosting of any WordPress website.

"WP Engine is the best WordPress host!"
What do you like best about WP Engine?

Free Migration plugin, very intuitive control panel. free SSL, Content Delivery Network, Caching options, easy Domain setup. Staging Sites. Daily backups, easy restoration process. Excellent customer service. FAST performing websites. Very skilled support team that can help you find out why you're having issues. Their advanced level support reps have solved issues for me many many times.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

Some of my clients do not like the price of the hosting options but I believe the value you receive for the hosting price far exceeds the cost. People are cheap these days but you get what you pay for with WP Engine. There are other cheaper options like GoDaddy and BlueHost but these companies are very poor performing hosts and their customer service is very bad. You will spend forever getting in touch with someone to help you solve and issue and they usually don't know how to help you. WP Engine has extremely knowledgeable support staff and if they can't solve the proglem their ticketing system will get you hooked up with a support tech who can deep dive into your issue.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've launched many websites personally and professionally with WP Engine. From small local farmers listing their locations on a map, to nationwide hardware store ordering systems and real estate agent CMS integrations to selling medical supplies to dental offices and hospitals. The benefits are that a small team of developers can launch high-performing systems quickly and inexpensively. We have even raised over a million dollars for non profit organizations through multiple annual fund raising campaigns.

"WP Engine is a great partner in Word Press site hosting and management."
What do you like best about WP Engine?

At the time I used it, the very best feature for us was the on-demand backup option. We were creating a lot of pretty extensive technology changes and content changes and the ability to easily backup and restore the project was very helpful if there was ever a bug introduced. The upgrades options and dev server generation tools were also very helpful.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

There really wasn't much that I disliked. As a service, the cost has been prohibitive for any of my smaller personal projects, but that is more about my budget than an excessive pricing model. I think the support and stability you get from it is worth the price, and for businesses, it is more than worth it for the peace of mind.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem being solved was stability throughout development and content creation. We transitioned to a ReactJS based UI utilizing WP API's from a fully integrated PHP software. That was a very extensive project, so the scheduled and unscheduled backups were ideal for maintaining performance for our users even throughout development. It definitely checked all the boxes for hosting and content restoration. During that time we encountered a few large scale outages from Amazon as well as some issues with common JS dependencies that brought down our site. The ability to restore quickly and mitigate those disasters was essential.

"Best WordPress Hosting of All times"
What do you like best about WP Engine?

The user-friendly interface and the faster loading times are one of the best things I like about WP Engine. Through the WP Engine servers, my WordPress website runs quickly and smoothly. The support team is very knowledgeable, and I always get instant feedback whenever I have technical issues. One can easily contact them through their live chat. WP Engine allows me to see live traffic on my website and account data and updates are done automatically.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

Their prices are on the higher side. They also have a limitation on the number of websites I can connect to my account. Similar hosting companies offer an unlimited number of websites under one account at the same pricing.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

I needed a solution that could provide backups, automated updates, and secure hosting services, and I found WP Engine. WP Engine does most of the maintenance work for my website and has freed up a lot of time, which I use to concentrate on other parts of my business. The marketing department has scaled up with hosting services from WP Engine.

"A little pricey, but generally worth it because of their support"
What do you like best about WP Engine?

The best support that I have experienced in the industry. Nothing even comes close. Their team is always prompt to respond and usually goes above and beyond in their solutions. The overall product is what you'd expect - managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting. The dashboard is easy to navigate and utilizing the Staging and Development environments for each instance is simple enough.

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

Entry-level pricing is still competitive, but enterprise options can be atrociously expensive. Depending on your situation, the price just may not be worth it, but if you can afford it their services and support are absolutely top-notch.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

Currently, WP Engine makes it easy to manage and access a catalog of WordPress sites that our organization currently has in its portfolio. Their dashboard makes it easy to monitor each site individually and the SSO to each site make it seamless to get into the WordPress admin side for each individual site.

"Costly but good WordPress hosting provider"
What do you like best about WP Engine?

WP Engine is a good solution for building Websites, It is very fast, and users can quickly build a website on this. The best part is we can add free plugins, which adds an additional feature to the web page. We can also easily migrate WordPress websites to WP engine, which saves lot of effort. It also gives a dashboard which tells how my website is performing. The Analytics report also helps so that we can make necessary changes to the page

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

The things which i didn't like is it is costly compared to the services it is offering, person can easily choose Godaddy which offers similar features for lower cost. It also doesnt allow some plugins from the worpress and other websites which is a let down. Its UI also needs some improvement as the search is poor. If we remove cost factor then I would say its the best.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allow the page to be hosted in much better and faster way. It is also scalable so i dont have to worry about addiional traffic coming to my page. It also uses caching thus page loads much faster.

"Best Wordpress Hosting. Period."
What do you like best about WP Engine?

I love the fact that WPEngine only focuses on Wordpress hosting. When a company focuses on just one CMS, then you get experts on that CMS. Everything just works and if you have an issue, their chat support is quick and thorough, solving your issue quickly,

What do you dislike about WP Engine?

There is not really much not to like. Their pricing is higher than most, but it's well worth the value.

What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

WPEngine stays on top of security risks on the Wordpress platform and heads those off. There is also tremendous value in being able to spin up a Wordpress instance in the matter of minutes which makes building websites extremely fast. The automated daily backups are also like an insurance policy on your site so in the rare case you blow up your site, you are not spending a ton of time backtracking and recovering.
