It’s a better way to search our site, our audience is able to locate relevant pieces of our content even if those pages were created 4 years ago.
The setup process was not very easy, although algolia was responsive to emails and did help us set it up.
We are able to track what new content we should create and see what old content people are searching for
It's easy to setup and easy to operate and maintain. They even give you a free javascript library that they maintain. The free tier is nice for trying out.
Nothing I can think of, so far it's a good experience
We don't have enough manpower to implement a commodity such as search. Even if we had the engineering pool, it makes no sense to implement a commodity feature such as search when something as cheap as Algolia exists
We've been using Algolia for the past 8 months and it has been super reliable. As a smaller team, it immediately gave us a ton of flexibility and options we could tweak to improve our search results. It was extremely easy to understand and implement.
I wish it were easier to keep our Algolia index in sync with our main database.
Search can be difficult and require a lot of configuration and tuning. Algolia powers the search across our platform and has saved us time and resources that we would have had to invest in setting up and maintaining infrastructure for search.
The amount of work that goes into maintaining and publishing Developer-focus documentation is great. Integrating was super simple because of how well they know how to speak to technical people.
Maintaining configuration sync amongst indices is not easy. I have many indices that all need to work in the same way (prioritization, synonyms, etc), and they each need to be configured and updated individually. Having common index configuration that can be shared is something that you can only do programatically, but this means you can no longer use the web interface.
Ecomm search in a luxury retail startup was not our first concern. We spend time on curating vintage products, photography, and focusing on brick-and-mortar stores. Sync'ing our product catalog up with Algolia and implementing their front-end JS helper meant we got up and running with instant search across our entire catalog in a matter of hours.
I like the ease of use. it took us no time to integrate our entities to algolia and use the api for search everywhere we needed to.
Can't point at anything that we don't like with the system. one small thing is that you can't dispose a search while it's running (client side)
Speed and rich solution for search, doing it ourselves would have taken much more time with reduced functionality
Implementation is super easy. Search engine is best in class. After using it, you will be annoyed with the sub-par search of mainstream apps like linkedin, Facebook, etc ...
Nothing so far. Algolia has everything I need.
Search is a key and vital feature for almost any tech product. If your users can't find good content, they will churn. With Algolia, I offer my users an amazing experience and they can find all the stuff they like in a breeze.
Algolia is very stable with rich APIs and fast response times. It supports many programming languages and provide well designed libraries with great documentation. Algolia solves many problems for services in which fast searching in large data sets are required. The platform is incredibly reliable, easy to use and prices are affordable for most companies, regardless of scale . It takes no time to integrate it into a project. Thanks to their backend architecture, availability is guaranteed and lookups are predictable.
- Improved indexing. Although not a big problem, but it can definitely cut a set of manual processing stages. - Choice of server location to reduce latency.
Syncing data in a distributed service. Algolia help us to skip hassle of maintenance and focus on the service itself.
I can categorize Algolia's strengths in two primary areas: 1. Algolia's engaged account management and product support are above and beyond other players in the space. This is absolutely integral in being able to implement, manage and optimize the use of their platform. 2. Algolia's commitment to ongoing product enhancements and innovation ensure our organization that we are partnered with a company that is positioned to support our continual growth.
Your team will need to have an understanding of coding as their platform does not fully support management by the business, digital marketing, or merchandising teams with some level of support from a developer.
Improved onsite merchandising and optimization on product listing pages, within site search and menus driving improved KPIs, (CTA, Bounce, CR), and better user experience.
It is fairly easy to use, has been very reliable and has provided us with a very smart and innovative replacement for our previous services. It is very performant and has a lot of features for aggregating and ordering lists of objects that come in handy, when trying to provide the best possible UX
There was a small hiccup with one of the list ordering features, which wasn't actually solved. We contacted customer support, but they didn't take much action as it was working somewhat according to design. Maybe some of the documentation was misleading, however we managed to find a way around it pretty easily, due to the convenient API
It solves the problems of optimizing the search experience in speed and reliability, as well as reacting to the users' input. Using it for searching purposes we benefit from relevant searches acompanied with inisight into what the users find relevant
