Following are the best things about Algolia 1) Easy to integrate - as Algolia comes with SDK for multiple languages 2) Search Insight- It also tells about searches that did not have results. 3) Ranking and sorting - You can customize search with different facets 4) Extensive documentation
There is literally nothing I can think of. Algolia fits 100% with our use case and fulfills our all the requirements.
We're using Algoli as a primary internal search engine in one of our projects, And we need Insights into what people are searching for the most. Algolia does an excellent job solving this problem for us and provides us with valuable insights.
The back office especially is easy to handle. Also, there is an academy for beginners who want to level up their skills :)
I would say that there are some points to review rather than things that i dislike about Algolia. Until now, the tool is really helpful and brings excellent data.
Algolia solves problems related to search and data, but also problems regarding the search speed. In my job, that is really important to have access to this data, and help users use the search bar in a correct way.
Algolia offers a modern alternative to search functionalities with easy indexing, good documentation, and typo tolerance. A significant benefit of it is that you can use it for everything and implement it with most, if not all, popular coding languages. If your project is written with PHP, JS, or even React, you can quickly pick it up and create endless possibilities. I like that it allows me to work with PHP and have the option to create UI components rapidly. Another benefit of Algolia is the huge community of developers who can help you if you struggle with something, just jump into the Algolia community forum and ask, or even tag some Algolia Team members - they're always happy to help you as long as you describe your issue properly and provide details where you stuck.
Honestly, there aren't many things that I dislike, although a recent change in the Dashboard UI made some options more difficult to access than the previous UI/UX revisions. If you're working on some demo project, the trial will be enough, but if you start using it in some big project, your bill might be an issue, but if your website/project generates good revenue, this should pay for itself.
Helps with providing users with the best User Experience during search interaction on the main website and allowed us to handle a lot of queries with different sets of filters as well as sorting and suggestions behind the scene. Algolia helped replace native WordPress search and allowed me to expand it with our main search database to provide users with product suggestions based on the typed text on a company blog, which one place a big part for us.
The Algolia admin console is incredibly powerful - you can create indices with ease, custom rules for search results, custom field weighting, fuzzy matching and so much more. The option to try for free is also very welcome!
I've not found anything I'd describe as negative during my use of Algolia thus far.
Algolia makes implementing performant search a breeze for JAMstack applications. It's so simple to configure your indices, and specify priority fields and ordering rules - plus they have libraries/SDKs for many front-end/back-end technologies.
It's so easy to implement. Super intuitive. Very fast to deliver results and affordable.
For what I used until now, I did not miss or dislike anything.
I needed to offer an easy way for my users to find content on the platform. Algolia allowed us to do it. It was fast and easy to implement, a great experience, and affordable.
We implemented Algolia for an NFP (not-for-profit) organisation among others. With the NFP implementation, we used Algolia for Open Source which allows our client to try out Algolia before moving into more advanced features. We were able to index content from a traditional CMS and provide a fast search and listing service using Algolia's basic features.
The process of attributing Algolia's free open-source plan was interesting. Providing an embeddable piece of HTML and images would have made this process so much easier.
Internal site search, geo-based search and listing categorised pages.
Algolia's team is very committed to generating results in the integration and use of the tool on our platform. We achieved great results with Algolia and we are impressed with the performance and how easy it is to integrate and use. We recommend Algolia.
Costs are a little bit high at this moment for Brazilian currency.
We started using CloudSearch, from AWS, and creating a team to tune it. But we quickly understood that with Algolia we would achieve better results and faster. The tool is amazing.
Algolia has an easy to use more than one search page template and provides the needed technical support to help new users set up their Algolia powered search page.
Algolia currently doesn't offer different paid tiers of technical support apart from the user accounts. Some projects require higher level Algolia technical expertise and right now basic users are not able to access that type of help. I trust Algolia for this type of help, and feel uneasy trusting random freelancers with my data and project.
Biomedical data is expansive and giving users rapidly searchable summaries of what is out there is extremely beneficial for my research purposes and those of my platform's global user community.
Algolia requires no backend management whatsoever. It's built for developers and speed to market.
It's not a cheap product but more than worth it. Pays for itself.
Taking all the pain out of custom search. I run an online marketplace with hundreds of thousands of products and Algolia manages it all with zero configuration from our team.
Simple and intuitive dashboard as well as super easy to start. I was able to get my search into production in minutes
Pricing can get out of hand if not careful.
