The ease with which we can set up products with nested structure in Algolia is commendable

The syntactical structure to search an item based on a nested property is quite unique and not easy to learn

We are developing product listing feature based on faceted search on our e commerce platform. Algolia provides that feature and it's low latency which fits our requirements

Speed of data is everything in web and Algolia provide results back in milliseconds! Despite having nearly 2 million records, Algolia allows users to search results quickly and return the most relevant results accurately. Using DSN's (A Search CDN), we are able to provide these speeds globally. My developers were able to develop a solution that intergrated into our current framework within two weeks thanks to the great documentation and JS library.

So far I have yet to find a downside of Algolia!

Our last Site Search provider was Swiftype. The lack of development with Swiftype meant our search offering was lagging behind our competitors, the relevance was poor and the configuration was limited in comparison to Algolia. Algolia provides us with better tools and analytics to improve the relevance for a user.

It provides data to make the decision making easy and accurate. Also, provides insights and tools to create a better experiencies for our users.

ther'es nothing in particular I dislike about Algolia.

Really fast and powerful Based on number of requests, not items in a requests Filter by multiples filter

Loading state management in react hooks It will go from idle to stale to loading, then go back to idle to stale and loading again without any apparent reason The hooks is quite difficult to understand and implement

You can easily merchandise products with click of a mouse

Manual pinning of products behaves wierdly at times which is a bit furstrating

Visual merchandising is very flexible in Algolia and it helps us to influence customer purhcase behaviour

Algolia allows us to iterate optimizations in our search experience quickly and creates visibility around painpoints our customers might be experiencing.

It can be a bit more costly than managing your own search service on another platform

Algolia is helping improve customers ability to find events or performers that they are searching for. A better search success rate leads to a better user expereince and higher likelihood they purchase on our site or app.

The algolia interface has a very intuitive UX to easily explore data and find out insights which i quickly need to know. The varirity of features is very broad. The customer support could help out quickly when trying to solve problems.

I did not discover any downsides yet, bu i have also only been using it since a couple of months. I heared that there were some implementation issues..

Algolia is the easiest search engine to setup with a greate backend to configure everything. Fast search engine easy to integrate. Really fast and good customer support The search had an amazing effect on our sales performance because customers easily find what they are looking for.

The flexibility and how easy to use it is out of the box. The indexing is very good and not expensive

To be honest there isnt a single thing i dislike at the moment . its very stable and works 100%
