The reporting is great, whenever I need to compile information I can be certain it will not take long. Bamboo ATS has completely changed our recruitment model. We are much more efficient and effective as a result. It has saved us time and money.
Tracking of learning. The solution could be better.
Efficient recuritment tool, we are a small company (under 150) so we never thought that the cost of an ATS, versus the amount of recruitment that goes on would allow for a cost effective solution. We have found that it has worked and has reduced the cost of hiring overall. Reporting is efficient and accurate.
We have been using BambooHR since 2018 (implementation was fairly easy) and it has been such a time-saver (moved from ancient paper personnel files). It's exceptionally user-friendly for both the administrator and the end-user. Submitting time-off requests, setting up documents for signature, recruitment, the entire employee life-cycle process is fairly seamless. The customer support team has been exceptional, and while there are a few things we would like to see improved, it's clear over the years that their development road-mapping has been constant and the platform continues to improve adding value to the customer experience. Full disclosure that we have not integrated the payroll and BenAdmin modules (yet).
Many of the standard and custom reports do not allow the ability to set date ranges which creates a lot of time and effort. The only way to get the required info is download reports in Excel and then manipulate the statistical data needed for required state, federal, and industry-standard reports. This is especially time-consuming a look-back over several years is required. The Time Tracking module still has some gaps - specifically there isn't an option for splitting entries for two different pay grades, so we have to run a separate spreadsheet to track hours and then get a blended hourly rate. Additionally, there isn't an option to approve the timesheet earlier than regularly scheduled. This is a problem when managers are on holiday and aren't available to sign-off in time to process payroll. Adding a FMLA and CFRA tracking system would be helpful and hope that's built into Bamboo's roadmap.
The HR office is 100% paperless and legal compliance for obtaining signatures for state, federal, and payroll documentation has become a non-issue. It has dramatically reduced the time and stress of managing and tracking onboarding and offboarding.
First off, it's got a great asthetic, and they pay attention to those details. But it isn't just pretty, (2) it's so intuitive, making it easy for everyone to use. It didn't take me long to learn how to utilize all the options to help ease my job as an HR professional, but it's been so easy for every user to use. I rarely get questions from my people asking me how to find something or do what they are supposed to in it. Third, their customer service is top notch. Always easy to get ahold of and always so helpful (and kind while assisting). Fourth, they offer great webinars, podcasts, and an HR slack community with great content - it really shows that they know the HR world, and really care about enabling us to do great work. As if you needed more reasons, implementation was a joy, and SO easy. And if you need resources to help with performance and culture pulse checks, their performance add on and included eNPS and wellness surveys are (again) so easy to use, and customize.
We would love to use their payroll add on, but they don't offer a discount to non-profits for it, like they do on the HR side. That's made it outside of our price range. Really, I'm hard pressed to find something that I dislike about my Bamboo!
It provides a one stop place for us to do hiring, onboarding, tracking benefits, performance, goal setting, culture pulse checks.
Bamboo was a great surprise for our empleoyees becasuse it was way easier to use than the previous solution we had, the implementation although it was easy was a litle lenghty to adapt to different countries policies. Has good customer support, several features including different types of leaves and the frequency of use of the platform has increased very well since it was integrated with our other solutions.
Bamboo took quite some time to migrate from our previous platform.
Handling vacations, permission leaves and wide company communications
BambooHR is extremely intuitive to use and contains so many useful tools for our organization all housed in one platform. Even the least tech-savvy on our team can understand it.
BambooHR does require an additional fee for use of certain features like time tracking, payroll processing, and performance management. We would love to see these features integrated at one price point.
BambooHR solved so many problems by moving our organization from paper employee files and clunky spreadsheets to streamlined HR paperwork in an easy to use platform.
BambooHR's interface is user-friendly. Our employees were excited to have an easy to use method for requesting time off. It has helped our HR team streamline recruiting efforts and performance management. The reporting capabilities allow us to compare performance results with data collected external surveys. We have not utilized pulse surveys but plan to in the future. The celebrations section encourages our employees to celebrate one another, whether it is anniversaries or birthdays. These small reminders help us to intentionally connect with our remote employees. There are less customization options than you would see in a Paylocity or ADP. This is a plus for our organization because of our size. BambooHR continusly looks for ways to add to their system and offerings. Our team looks forward to growing alongside them! I cannot recommend BambooHR enough!!!
BambooHR does not assign an account representative to clients. The only point of contact is the customer service line. This can be frustrating when trying to collect data on their security measures. We are a financial institution and go through regular audits. Since BambooHR is a smaller HRIS system, there are less capabilities to connect with benefit admin systems that can be accessed through benefit brokers. I expect this to change as the system continues to grow. I hope to see Bamboo offer ACA reporting in the future. They currently refer customers to a third-party for an additional fee. BambooHR can be used to track training completion, but it can be frustrating to use. I hope to see this feature improve in the future.
Our organization is in growth mode, and we have hired 80 people in the last four years (including interns). The recruiting model has been extremely helpful in tracking our candidates and creating open conversations between hiring leads and HR. We will be switching to BambooHR payroll next year in hopes we will save time by accessing all the data we need in one system, particularly for total compensation statements. Performance management has created more opportunities for supervisors to gather feedback from peers on their direct reports. This data is confidential and essential to helping our managers coach and guide their people to success.
BambooHR streamlines all of the processes we need for hiring, onboarding, records keeping, and time tracking. Having so many features in one portal is great! It is easy to navigate and straightforward to learn for new staff.
We are not a fan that certain modules like performance tracking and time tracking cost extra to add. We would love for it to be included in the basic package with the other features.
BambooHR keeps the avalanche of spreadsheets and paper forms from burying our admin team. It is clear cut for employees and makes everything easy to find in one place.
It is easy to navigate and they continually add more features. The DocuSign feature is amazing and so cost-effective. My staff have really embraced it and use it daily.
It is to expensive to use for all of our employees because we also have to use other platforms that we pay for. I wish I could have 3 separate accounts for our different business units. For our core business, we use Advantage, but we would add another 400 users if we could have the basic accounts for those business units. I have been a customer for about 9 years with 3 companies and I simply cannot live without it. I also referred my husband's employer to the product and it was very useful to them too.
Compliance is a significant issue for us. We use it for training, EEO and licensing applications. We also use to assist in compensation management and daily workforce planning.
