Evernote provides the comfort of that of a personal notebook that goes with you everywhere. It is incredibly easy to open the app in seconds (either on my computer or phone), find an existing note topic, start a new and write away. Evernote is convenient and easy to use. Those are the two most important factors I consider when using it. From grocery list to blog drafts to brainstorming, Evernote keeps it effortless.
The chat function within Evernote is not as smooth as other types of software, however, it's not what I intend to use the program for, so it doesn't really affect my experience.
All ideas, good or bad, should be written down, otherwise they are lost. Evernote keeps those ideas in one convenient spot for hashing out and referencing later.
Evernote is often referred to as an "external brain." I think that's a fair analogy. I use it for planning, note taking, reference, travel itineraries, shopping lists, etc. It allows me to carry my notes wherever I need them, so I don't have to clutter my head with too many small things.
There is no firm structure, so you are required to figure out the best way to use it. This is nice, because it can be very flexible. But getting started, and maintaining a clean structure, can be a bit difficult.
I use Evernote for almost all of my business notes. I store a variety of notes, big and small. The best part is having them in one place, and easily searchable. It's rare that it takes me more than a moment to find something I'm looking for.
I like how easy it is to keep notes, to-do lists and reading notes with cross referencing. The Android application is great and I really like how easy it is synced across the web application and cell phone.
I wish the shopping list was easier to work with but it's not a top priority.
Keeping track of all my different projects and to-do lists.
I was amazed by how many different formats of files that Evernote can handle. While it's easy to have multiple locations to store different types of notes Evernote makes it possible to bring it all together into one app. The Database format of Evernote makes easy to categorize and keep track of notes. The search feature is one of my most used options, it can search no only words but documents uploaded and handwritten notes.
The one thing that I have found lacking in Evernote is an iOS app that allows for handwritten notes. They do have a notepad available but it does not compare to other programs out there in it's pressure sensitivity and capabilities.
I was looking for a way to help keep track of notes, business meetings, site surveys, client information. Evernote filled this and so much more. Our team is able to use this as a collaboration tool, todo list, database, and note software. One of the things I realized early on from another Evernote user is that the more that you put into Evernote the more you get out, which is just like every other Database, but it has proven true for our team.
I love that I can use Evernote to access things like passwords and important info on the go on a very nice, searchable app on my phone. I like how everything syncs instantly without having to use a "save" button. Notes sync quickly. Another nice feature is when putting in a photo using your phone, it gives the option to take the picture right then and there and insert it into the note. The browser version is also just as nice as the software to install on a computer.
I dislike how Evernote wants to install an update on the computer almost every single time I open it. Maybe I just don't use it often enough, but I feel like the updates are too frequent and don't actually update anything at all.
Evernote allows me to have password access to my employer's accounts and profiles to various websites and software, without compromising his privacy. It also allows me to sort things into categories with notebooks. The benefits of being able to search my notes make using the app easy and fast. Using it on the go on a mobile device makes speed a necessity.
I most enjoy the Web Clipper option. I read and research a lot online, and Evernote makes it quite easy to save those notes for later. I also enjoy the ease by which I can share that information with my team. I also enjoy the desktop application that allows me to work offline.
I don't really have a dislike at this point. I did have to upgrade for more services, but I still love it.
Solving - ease of sharing data and information without using email. Just saving to the notebook - so that we can all review.
I wish that I could shout from a roof top on how much I love this product. I have to take notes. If I'm not writing it down, then I'm forgetting it. I love that I no longer have to worry about losing a notebook, spilling coffee on it because it's a Monday or anything else that could happen. My notes are with me 24/7.
There is literally not a single thing that I dislike about this product.
This saves me so much time and hassle. I can type words way quicker than I can write them down. I no longer lose my notes or have to worry about not being able to read my sloppy or short hand notes. It's overall just a truly amazing product and I don't know what I would do without it.
Ease of adding notes, pics, and formatting items within the app. The ability to access files and notes from different devices. I love the ability to check my notes from listing appointments to confirm commission, next steps, timelines, and to see pictures that I took of the property.
Needing to pay for more storage, gets eaten up quick. I've run into some glitches with the program for Apple.
A place to put notes that's accessible from different devices. I love having a central place to put all of my notes and the ability to format the notes to my liking.
Evernote has replaced three or 4 apps from my iPhone. Also adding the evernote clipper to my toolbar in firefox has made researching and saving websites simple. Keyword tagging of notes makes it easy to find things that I've written for myself. The app has become an essential part of my daily routine.
There isn't much I dislike about the software/app yet honestly. I suppose adding in a calendar/dating system might be an option for future releases. Maybe better integration with gmail. Integration with Siri would be huge for this app. Hoping for this addition now that OS10 allows 3rd party apps with siri.
I use this for mainly for keeping to do lists and saving website links/blog posts for future research. The app is faster and better than the stock reminder and notes apps. I save 3 spots on my 1st page screen real estate on my iphone cause of this app.
Everything! the simplicity, the ease of use, the options, the ability to take pictures that turn in to documents and pdf's. I truly live my life in Evernote and recommend it to everyone. The ability to use it across multi device is also fantastic. A must have app in anyone's phone.
Nothing. I cant think how it could be improved to be honest.
Note taking, voice notes when I am driving my car. The document scanner is fantastic for when I need to quickly copy a document and forward it to someone. The amount of storage space you get each and every month. The time this app saves me and I haven't yet mentioned the web clipper. Fantastic foresight and gives me the ability to save SO much time and money at the click of a button.
Available on multiple platforms, iOS, Android, Windows, browser.
When resizing the Windows app, a lot of the text formatting buttons hide, would like if things like that stacked or could be moved.
Easy place to keep multiple notes and can access from whatever device I am currently using.
It is ONE place for me to keep notes, pictures, ideas, drawings, and links that I can tag, search, and access no matter where I am.
I'm using the free version, so there are features that aren't available for me, and I have to see ads, but that is to be expected.
It helps me to be better organized, and helps me to find the information that I'm seeking, even when it's been a while since I saved it.
I love that I can start working on something in one place and complete it from mobile or another workstation.
I don't like that everything has to be sorted into notebooks.
It helps me stay connected to what I'm working on without needing to stay in my classroom all night.
Evernote's availability, simplicity, and organizing potential are why I love it. I'm still learning the best means of utilizing its full capacity of features, but it helps me to keep track of things that my brain just couldn't keep up with.
The only thing I dislike is my own learning curve in making it work for me. I know that every sticky note and journal entry I write elsewhere could be better managed in Evernote, but I still haven't established the habits that make it my go-to every time I need to jot a memo.
For years I had notes in spiral notebooks, on scraps of paper, and on sticky notes stuck to my computer monitor, but they were never where I was when I needed them. A misplaced spiral notebook here and a sticky note I forgot to pull before heading to the store there made Evernote a great asset for accessibility.
It's easy to use and very searchable. Use it for notes, photos, receipts, web links. An essential everyday app that I could not live without.
Really nothing! It has all of the features I need and is not too complicated.
1) Taking notes -- it's searchable so I can find everything. 2) Also use it to take photos of business cards. 3) Receipts 4) Web links for blog posts I'm thinking about 5) Interviews for articles -- I know I won't "lose" them. 6) Meeting reminders
The ability to keep everything in my life- personal, professional...anything- in one place where I can find it easily.
if you want to use it at its optimum, you have to stay on top of it. That means actively filling and tagging.
The ability to keep all the information and resources I need at my fingertips. Job information, documentation, manuals etc.
Evernote allows me to be extremely organized. I use Evernote when I am prospecting in order to keep a call log for each day of notes, I then am able to transcribe the notes to Salesforce very rapidly to complete my administrative work much faster than if I didn't use evernote. Evernote is useful because everything is auto saved and I can use the extension to clip notes and screenshots to keep a timestamped journal/archive of what I am doing.
Sometimes, when you use the web browser - or windows app- it can auto refresh and create "conflicting changes" where the notes will disappear. This can be alarming. The UI on the windows app could have more customization.
I am able to organize projects and content for presentations/emails more effectively. Being able to keep all my notes in the cloud allows me to never lose anything on accident. I have moved off of taking training notes/call notes inside on pieces of paper, my desk is now clutter free. I also use it to keep track of expenses via .pdf functionality from my phone. I keep templates of emails in Evernote.
The ease of use, ability to text read pictures, cataloging this is the best program for writers, researchers, and anyone who needs to catalog lots of documents
I love this program. I can't think of anything that I dislike.
I write presentations every week and do major project research for hours every week. Evernote allows me to save, categorize, and easily search for all of my documents. I have been using this program for nearly 9 years and I can't imagine life without it.
It's clean interface and simple to use. I'm able to share notes, use it for personal and work. I also love that I it syncs and I can access it from a desktop or my phone.
The ability to create levels of notebooks and "pages" like you can in OneNote. It's easy to get a little lost sometimes if you start going too deep because it doesn't show a tier or levels.
Keeping track of notes, easily sharing notes. Being able to access notes in a meeting via phone and not always having to bring a computer everywhere - especially helpful at conferences.
Evernote is a great app for notetaking, writing and remembering stuff. I use it for organization, fiction and non-fiction writing and other uses, eg. saving recipes and photos of invoices.
The web interface is very different from the Mac OSx interface, which makes me confused about what are the software's true intentions and uses.
I take notes, organize things, share projects, write, write and write even more, everything related to remembering and organizing is used with evernote. I love it.
