That I can manage nearly ALL of my social media platforms (including different aspects of those platforms, e.g. Facebook profiles AND pages). I can choose to delegate replies, tweets, reply to messages to different people to better collaborate and streamline social feeds. Analytics following the platforms and can post updates from an RSS feed.
Some functions are limited like thumbnail issues in Facebook and engagement/reach issues. To access tools that I really needed the prices started getting out of hand. You are drawn in for free and discounted but essential analytics and reporting start to get expensive. The URL shorten-er is ridiculously priced when there are superior options out there for a fraction of this cost.
Keeping track of multiple social media platforms without loosing my mind! Able to broadcast activity or products to multiple platforms at one time.
The ability to see everything at a glance. I like that the mentions, social feed, and additional customizable feeds are available on the same dashboard.
The owly link shortening. It looks lazy and tells the world which you are using.
Using Hootsuite is a great start when you are getting your feet wet in social media marketing. You can get a good feel for what it's like to plan out and schedule your content even with the free version which I would highly recommend to anyone getting their sea legs in this industry.
I like having just one site to go to and be able to post content across multiple social media platforms. I really like that you can enter futue posts and schedule them at the best time that is recommneded at the time you are ready to post
It's a little too expensive a service and at the current cost, seems like not enough value for me. But you don't offer any other solutions at a lower cost that would offer enough any of the features of the most basic paid subsciption. I feel that the basic membership doesn't offer enough to even bother using Hootsuite and therefore doesn't have any value to me. It's a high cost to pay for even just the minimum features on the lowest level paid subscription. If there was a company that could offer the same features for a lower cost, I would move my business right away.
Saving time having to post on multiple SM platforms and the security of entering content for future dates which eases my mind about missing important posts and making sure that there content ongoing.
I like that the software definitely saves me so much time on posting on various social media platforms. I'm able to save hours on end. I like that I am able to schedule at my convenience with the option to cancel them.
I do not like that the posts show that I posted using Hootesuite since that seems like my company promotes the brand and customers/clients might not feel like there's an actual person behind the posts. The price is another dislike. If you are a large company, then the price is worth the investment. However, if you're a part of a smaller business with multiple platforms, then it gets to be too pricey. Additionally, sometimes my schedule gets messed up and I have to re-add posts. I also wish there was an option to repost previously posted posts. Last thing:I wish I was able to schedule posts where I share other users posts. Since there is a lot of collaboration with my organization, then that would relieve other stress and save time. Multiple users makes it a bit difficult to prevent confusion in simultaneous editing.
We are solving time management problems and lack of synchronicity across platforms. A huge benefit is that one has the ability to see all platforms at once saving time and headaches. Additionally, multiple users can see what I have scheduled and edit as necessary.
Hootsuite is simple, more cost-effective than most social media schedulers, and I love that the calendar allows you to see which media each of your posts is going out to simultaneously. It also allows you to drag and drop posts on your calendar, which makes for easy re-scheduling (as opposed to other programs I've used where you must open each post in order to re-schedule). Their new publishing time suggestions are a cool feature, too.
Hootsuite so far does not support carousel posts/multiple photo posts for the Instagram feed, which means I have to schedule any post of that nature using Facebook Creator Studio. It would be great if they could add support for that function so that I can keep all my posts in one place.
Hootsuite has helped make my social media scheduling more efficient. It is much faster and easier to use than Facebook/Instagram's native scheduler, especially when I need to re-arrange my content calendar at the last minute.
Hootsuite's monthly price was perfect for a set-it-and-forget it app. There have been times when I've used other tools and kept Hootsuite going because why cancel and restart with such a low price? But the feature set ALWAYS brings me back. The ability to create streams with keywords and to use multiple accounts on Twitter, FB, G+, LinkedIn and others is unsurpassed.
The reporting is more a la carte pricing pricing, and I have good substitutes, but I wouldn't mind trying it more.
Maximizing productivity by addressing multiple platforms and multiple accounts at platforms at once. Also using a lot of scheduling features and two of the RSS automated feeds.
It's ability to manage all social media platforms in one place is excellent for streamlining. I was using it for a production with long weekend hours and multiple simultaneous events, and the ability to schedule social media was a great time saver. It also was great for keeping multiple employees in multiple locations on the same page.
Far, far too many upcharges. The free version is not that useful - the pro version on it's face is not terribly expensive, but everything seems to cost extra. Extra for shortened urls, extra for specific custom analytics. It reached a point where everything we found most useful cost extra, and that cost went up significantly over the time we were using it.
It was helpful for monitoring keywords and analytics could offer feedback on what the best schedules and creative directions for social media were. It also assisted with communication, as have multiple productions in multiple places at the same time. This helped with brand consistency.
I loved the old Hootsuite. It had content recommendations, great analytics, a large number of accounts I could add (for not $$$$$$), and on top of that was one of the most reliable posting systems I've ever used. It was fast to onboard team members, easy to program, quick to check out the upcoming scheduled posts.
The $$$$$$$. I manage well over 100 accounts for my clients. This is not a cost effective solution. The old tech would allow for content recommendations without paying more. The new tech doesn't do that - it costs more. Everything costs more.
I loved Hootsuite when it first came out. It was the best product on the market and did everything I needed it to do. I programmed about 45 social media channels for multiple posts per week. It was great, easy to use, reliable, had good analytics and made my job a breeze. The tech advanced and the price jumped, so I switched platforms to something that is more in line with a small business's needs and budget that performs just as well.
