I love how easy it is for college students to be engaged. When I have participated or administered quizzes, everyone is so much more involved. People love these quizzes!
Sometimes students can't connect or the connection is slow. However, these issues are really minimal.
Students are much more involved when we use Kahoot. This is great for the program!
Kahoot is a great interactive tool for all ages!
Students can use their smartphones which sometimes leads to difficulty monitoring
Students are actively engaged in class topic.
I like that Kahoot is free, easy to manipulate for the instructors who use it, has a friendly user-interface, and is easily accessible from student phones even if they don't bring their laptop to class. The students like that it is portable and that they can have interactive practice questions to prepare for their nursing boards.
I enjoy this software. My main problem is the word limit on questions---some practice questions require more context and I'd like to be able to provide a realistic question for students. It is troubling to shorten questions when I'm over the word limit and I have to pick and choose what contextual data to remove from the question.
Many clicker based quiz programs for students in academic settings are expensive. Kahoot is free and solves this problem. It is also available for students to create quizzes in groups and test each other's nursing knowledge.
Kahoot is a website that makes learning fun and interactive for students.
I dislike the internet ability and connection with it.
I notice a lot of faults when using it with a bigger class of 25 or more students.
Very easy app interface to learn and use. Most students are able to get the app or simply go on a browser. Don’t experience many issues with connecting.
Would like to see some more pre made quizzes from experienced educators that are “verified.” Not just standard users.
It’s just a great tool for teaching and students love it. A helpful review guide and study tool.
Kahoot is fun, exciting and a very interesting way to learn things. The quizzes which are basically like games are very interactive and fun! I love the fun arcade like music in the quizzes. It is great for fun icebreakers in meetings at work. I also use it for my students in my SI Sessions when I quiz them before the exams. It is very versatile when it comes to use.
I wish it allowed subjective responses as well instead of just multiple choice responses. I also think that there are some bugs in the software because it freezes many time, and that is not fun especially when there is a match going on!
I use it for icebreakers at meetings, and at my SI sessions for my students where I use it to quiz them.
Kids love it and have a ton of fun but are learning a ton.
I wish I could type longer answers because I often end up cutting them off.
I wish I could type longer answers and the benefits are that kids are reviewing while having fun.
Everyone gets involved. It is a great way to review material or practice a new concept.
I wish there were more "math-friendly" characters to choose from.
The students are learning problem solving skills. The benefit is the interest level in the class. They often ask to play Kahoot! in the classroom.
I like that it gives students time to read the question and pick the correct answer. You are also able to have multiple choice questions to up the 4 answers. I also like how you are able to set it so that there is a possibility of having two correct answers.
I do not like how students do not have the possible answers on their individual computers. You only see the different colors to pick from instead of the answers. It makes it difficult for students because they are forced to look up at the screen and sometimes make a silly mistake by picking the wrong color because they werent looking.
I have seen that students really enjoy Kahoot because it is entertaining and it is engaging for all types of learners. I like how all students are involved and answer all questions instead of just one question per student.
I like that it gives students time to read the question and pick the correct answer. You are also able to have multiple choice questions to up the 4 answers. I also like how you are able to set it so that there is a possibility of having two correct answers. It makes my job really easy for personality development quizzes.
Sometimes it takes too long to load or freezes on the device which defeats the purpose of a quiz, and it's no use at that time. Also, students are only able to see the symbols rather than the real options when answering making it difficult for them to answer correctly.
I use it at TCU career development center to help students with personality development questions and help them in their career or choosing their majors.
