I implements this during COVID and we were able to get it live in days
It took about 4-5 steps for vendors to set up their side
I used Stipe to faciliate a giftcard website where I didnt want any of the funds coming to me for tax and compliance purposes
I like how simple it is to get reports and the automation.
There's nothing I dislike that I can think of right now.
It allows us to charge users' credit cards and have it be automated. It saves us time.
Easy to check billings and details about customers
Lack of support articles, difficult to find topics as a regular user
Check my customer's subscriptions on a easy way
The best thing about this is that I don't need to change tabs when using the intercom. All the customer details are listed right there in front of my eyes. If I need to check their payments and subscription it's right there.
There's nothing to dislike. It would just be great to see the reason for failed payments right in the app.
Custom service with subscription and billing. I don't need to change tabs when using the intercom. All the customer details are listed right there in front of my eyes. If I need to check their payments and subscription it's right there.
Support has been amazing and it's the best part of the Stripe experience.
They should have more programs with better pricing for small business that process small amounts of sales a month.
"Y" payments is the main thing we use Stripe Billing for.
The three things I like best about Stripe Billing are: 1) The UI dashboard. Stripe has a full-featured web dashboard that I can use to manage all of the customer data, subscriptions, coupons, etc. Having to build this ourselves would have been very expensive and it's not the sort of thing you want to get wrong. 2) For devs: the API. Stripe has some of the best API documentation in the business, and there are a lot of third-party software options that integrate with it. 3) The mobile app. Similar to the web dashboard, though not as fully featured. The mobile app makes it easy to check in on things and do certain tasks.
The additional cost of using subscriptions on top of Stripe's fees is a little painful, but ultimately worth it in other ways (ease of use and reliability). There are probably some competitors to use where you could save some money, but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it in the long run in terms of production and opportunity costs. I've also found that their live chat customer service isn't as good as it was years ago when Stripe wasn't as big as they are now.
We have a recurring subscription-based business and Stripe Billing has been a reliable and cost-effective partner to manage the subscriptions and accept credit card payments.
The fact that I dont have to take a screenshot for a refund receipt, I can just hit their little send refund tab and enter the email makes sending a receipt a breeze!
Honestly, it has been working seamlessly compared to other services like it, and I have yet to come across an issue while using the program that would cause me to dislike it.
The problem it solves for me is time management. On other services like stripe, I spend more time taking a screenshot of a refund for a customer so I can send it to them than I spend on the phone during the call.
It's so easy to use, understand, troubleshoot, and set up
Unfortunately, we lose almost all disputes in Stripe (even though it's 100% the customer's fault) vs we always win them in PayPal
Easy checkout process and subscription for our membership
We use Stripe Billing for our Individual Billing clients. It makes it very easy for parents and school to pay off their balances while protecting themselves and us against any transaction issues.
I do not like the dispute process because it refunds even when the payer is in the wrong. Also even when you provide proof. Very strange.
We made it easy to receive payments by using Stripe Billing. It has cut back on the amount of checks we receive, we get payments faster, and we have cut back tremendously on paper waste.
Stripe has one of the products in the business, and that's not just billing. Their dashboard is very easy for anyone to use, they have quite possibly the best API documentations for any software, and they have great documentation for handling many different use cases. Handling billing with software is generally stressful, but working with Stripe is a joy and I wish all products were at their level.
This is a super minor gripe, but it would be nice if there was more clarity in their Python API documentation regarding their objects. Because the IDE integration isn't great, I have to rely on their documentation which can be a bit inconsistent on whether items are keys or attributes.
Stripe handles all of the money passing for our application. We use it to manage our subscriptions, trials, plans, and handling user billing issues. Stripe allows us to be Agile with our billing - making changes or improvements is very easy to do, and can handle a wide range of new proposed workflows.
Stripe has continuously evolved its product, fixing issues before I even have a chance to reach out to them about it.
The invoicing process was recently changed, and canceling out an old invoice is a long and tedious process now, where you can no longer just close the invoice.
Stripe is great as a website payment portal
Our favorite feature is definitely the option to automatically deposit into our company bank account. No need to access the Stripe account to initiate the bank transfer at the end of each day, it is automatically scheduled and reaches our bank account in approximately 2 business days. Stripe also integrates with all of the other software we utilize throughout or company.
Direct invoicing is a bit cumbersome, a simplified version more like PayPal invoicing would be a huge benefit. Thankfully, we have invoicing software that integrates with Stripe so we do not need to use the Stripe option.
Simple integration with our billing, accounting, and proposal software. Ease of account creation, ease of use.
I like Stripe because it was easy to integrate with the system already in place.
I don’t have any dislikes for Stripe at this point.
Saving time and energy with Stripe billing system.
The fact that stripe flexibly and easily integrated into any kind of product billing system
There wasn't much to dislike about it, I haven't heard much about problems regarding the service.
Stripe helps managing subscription payments, as well as easily solve discrepancies with payments and very easily reverse overcharges.
The ease of use. The ability to easily manage our multiple environments within Stripe has been superb.
I would prefer a way to force all new users to enable 2-step verification.
To be able to easily process payments from not only US currency but to make the payments of international orgs easy as well.
The cost effective payment processing API that can be easily implemented within mobile and web based applications.
There has been times in the past where the response time has been slow, but I think Stripe has came a long way in the past few years.
Since moving from PayPal Braintree to Stripe, we’ve saved thousands of dollars in transaction fees. Also being able to query previous transactions through an API allows for transparency in finding what works best.
Quick and easy to implement api for billing and even seller / merchant sites can take advantage of Stripe features.
Nothing to dislike about stripe. The company and product are great!
Money! I need to pay / charge people. Therefore I can do both with stripe. you can charge end users of your product and pay vendors all with stripe.
It is a payment gateway that doesn't require a long drawn out verification process, which means you can quickly and easily get up and running ad it integrates with a lot of other software out there
They have recently changed the interface and it makes it a bit harder to find information sometimes
Taking online payments for courses I sell online, it has been great as it helps me to not have to physically get on the phone to take payments and it pays out within 1 week of the payment having been made.
Stripe is very easy to use and super UI friendly. Super quick to setup with lots of documentation out there. Can plug it into any website or application.
Stripe pretty much owns all of billing on the internet. There is no real alternative solution to stripe.
I used to stripe to implement payment for payments for doctors and for payments for charity uses.
It helps your customers to pay for your service in their local currency. The developer documentation is excellent which makes the process of integration straightforward.
Pricing of Stripe Billing can be more attractive and flexibile (as per the scale of a business) in light of other competitors providing similar billing service.
Stripe Billing allows a business to easily serve customers across several geographies by handling payments. This lets the business to focus on the core aspects for delivering value to its customers.
