Organization is key in my role and its helped me in that
I like that as a whole our company works ob the same platform universally.
That the system only allows one active session at a tome per team member.
Credit operations has me review out of ballances accounts. To be able to communicate and show my work is the benifit of this platform.
The ease of use is great and very helpful using daily at work.
I am still learning all it has to offer so I am not able to mention anything that I do not like yet.
Its great at managing our finances.
How much all of the reporting features can do
It takes a very long time to get set up and requires a lot of maintenance
Streamlined reporting and ease of compiling revenue/expenses
The personalized pictures, org charts, ability to customize the tool and of course the global functionality.
Seemed to be cumbersome and confusing at times- slowed down work and what we were trying to accomplish
Global hiring and workforce planning. Workday makes it very easy to see other people's organizations.
All the features including personal info pages, career section, performance review section, talent management and OD sections and Com & Ben section
Performance review section must be shortened more to accommodate speedy submission of forms, it takes lot of time to finally get approvals. In a not fully IT enabled organization it takes more time.
Talent Management, Expat Movement and Com and Ben, Hire-to-Retire Process
Workday's interface is very customizable. You can build as many steps as you want in templates and can require approvals/send backs so that users can for example, ask employees to revise write-ups before submitting final versions. That makes it a good "work in" space, kind of like a word processor, in which a user can save work, come back later, etc. The look and feel of the interface from an end-user experience has a very clean and streamlined. It definitely feels more elegant than other systems' UIs.
The fact that Workday's systems is so customizable makes it hard to get started because you almost have too many options to choose from. There are a "business process names", or strings of words you can type into the search menu to pull up the process you want to launch. However, if you don't type the right string of words, you may never pull up what you're looking for. The training that Workday offers to teach how to do-it-yourself does its best to teach clients to be self-sufficient but it doesn't really train you for the full capabilities of Workday. You would need to spend hours of your own time figuring it out yourself/or hire a consulting firm to do it for you. What would have been helpful is to get Workday's advice on what other clients who are in a similar situation do. Although every client is different, if you're new to an HRM, you want a company that offers "every option imaginable" to help you with process design.
I was trying to get all Talent Processes set up for a calendar year. We haven't launched yet because we're waiting for the HC Management of our Workday launch to be more stable. That domain roll-out has been delayed, which pushed back my domain's launch. I think we had an aggressive timeline and the "process" fought us back.
I like the team calendar to see when my team will be out of office or will be offline.
There are so many menus to navigate to the same place. It becomes confusing when you want to request time off or edit your work as the menu for "Absense" makes sense for both those options. The goals section is difficult to navigate when editing goals.
Clearing understanding when my team will be offline or otherwise unavailble means we have full coverage and leave no days without anyone in office. We are better serving out customers by being present and available.
In the company that I used to work with, we used to use workday to get more information about our position, about the company, important newsletter that we needed to read, open positions, etc. The experience was good, it was easy to get the information needed, mostly I used it to check the requirements to apply to possitions in order to grow in my professional path.
It was a nice tool to have. The only bad thing is we didn't have much time to check the information but that issue wasn't related to Worday but the information was always available to us.
Sharing the information to every employee of the company in a fast an effective way. That was the biggest goal that workday solved. We all had access to the same information, anytime and we can also find the topic of interest.
I'm not sure what I like best. Overall I don't really like the program. I guess I like the color scheme it uses?
I dislike how it's not intuitive. It takes a while to load and the notification bar could be set up way better. The application itself needs to be modernized.
I am not solving any problems with workday.
