Its good that it allows integration with Adobe connect and captivate authoring tool. There are options to integrate with thirdparty course content like Getabstract, Lynda etc.. which increases your content library.

Doesn’t currently have facility to buy and sell courses. This will be good for smaller players.

Adobe Captivate Prime is a well structured LMS with good integration. Needs improvements in a few areas though.

It gives you facilities to enrol and manage learners easily, manage learners. You can also integrate and sync with your HR tools. Makes life easy for learning managers.

No e-commerce facility for selling and buying courses. Have to look for other options.

Overall Adobe Captivate Prime will be best suited for organizations which rely heavily on systems and tools.

Organize learning content and provide learners with one place of access to educational information.

It's quite a feat to have software that is easily navigable and easy to use. Adobe Captivate Prime LMS does this with ease. The user interface is sleek and allows users to find what they are looking for quickly and points you to the right direction whether you're adding users, making courses or developing learning programs.

I found that there wasn't enough customization for my business logos and colours, but it's really a very minor to have.

Training my team and people around me. It's very easy to create something for people with knowledge on a particular topic, and then share that with the wider team as time goes on.

Easy set up and smart rules There are several smart rules which can be built into ACP which allow automatic assigning of teams, courses and learning paths when someone is created or registered in the system. Other LMS’s provide this, but the way this is set up in ACP is intuitive and smart. It drastically cuts down the time needed to get people up and running on the LMS and will save the time that LMS administrators would usually take setting people up. Offline Content ACP seem to have done this better than any other LMS I have trialled. The ability to download all course content and use the system offline, while still experiencing the system as if offline, is a superior offering from ACP. Publishing from Adobe Captivate We already use Captivate to create our eLearinng content and publish our SCORM compliant training packages. Having a system that allows us to publish quickly and easily from our eLearning authoring program to our LMS saves time. Instructor role One unique part of ACP is having a dedicated instructor role which allows training instructors to log in and manage all of their training activities. Other LMS’s have this but tend to be quite complex. The way a user experiences this in ACP is simple and easy to use.

Pricing is a little higher than other LMS's.

Scorm compliancy is essential as we design our courses in Articulate Storyline. It's user friendly. I love the additional tools like Course effectiveness which is useful not only to the learner but also to us a developer to ensure that our courses are clear and effective. The iPad app is an added benefit for our learners who like to learn on the go and have the synchronous learning option. The administration side is also easy to use.

It would be great if there allowed for more interaction between learners on the course. Otherwise there were no significant issues on our trial period.

Generating learning tools for various staff at all levels. Quizzes and tools have improved employee understanding and compliance in the workplace.

I find it pretty easy to use- similar to working with a Powerpoint. Basic editing of audio is pretty easy to work with and editing the timing of the presentation is not too difficult.

I wish there was an easier way to edit the audio for the entire presentation rather than just one slide at a time. I have also had difficulties with publishing the video and viewing them to preview what it would look like when it’s published online.

It allows a lot of users to see video of something related to my companies’ software.

Instead of having a meeting and teaching or lecturing a group, taking people away from their work, they can complete training online and learn new skills at their leisure on almost any electronic device.

If someone has questions about what they are learning or viewing, you can't just raise your hand and get the answer. So you must take notes and find someone who can answer your questions.

Employees seem less stressed about having to stop what they are doing to attend meetings. In meetings people will often zone out- thinking about other tasks they need to catch up on. This somewhat eliminates that because they can watch the training modules at their convenience.

A great software that is easy to use, not to complicated, yet high tech and very useful.

It is hard to pick something I dislike out of such a great product.

My current business uses Adobe products all day long, every day and it has yet to fail us. We love them and it is a great addition to our workflow.

Captivate makes performing demos and integrating them with PowerPoint very simple. This is a great tool for anyone trying to upgrade current webinar training to a more user-friendly platform.

The cost of the various options. Not so much to purchase for use, but to pay to put on various computers so that others in the organization have access to the program.

Int he educational field, our problems are always trying to remain transparent and involve stakeholder as often as possible in as many ways as possible.

I really enjoy how easy it is to enroll learners and how ALM keeps up with our content.

Changing specific training records sometimes requires using the APIs.

ALM provides a turn-key solution for deploying, tracking, and recording our training material.

If you have the right kind of course content creation tools, the Adobe Learning Manager is very easy to import courses into and takes very little time.

The vast majority of our users were accessing ALM through the app and there were many technical issues throughout our 3 years using.

As our company is growing, we need a solution to help educate our employees both technically and with soft skill training as well.

ALM allows for growth and expansion. Is a capable LMS.

ALM needs more flexibilty to allow learners to repeat the same course for credit. Admins should be able to enroll a learner in a previously completed course.

ALM helps us manage our annual compliance training and new hire onboarding courses.

The best things about ALM is updatign the course content.

Restrictions on deletion and updation of existing ID's

Adobe is currently solving our oraganisation LMS needs and helping us in being compliant with regualtory requirements.

The tool is really good and meets practically all our requirements. Adobe also keeps improving the tool.

The biggest concern I have is its inability to integrate with Udemy.

Adobe has a pretty decent user experience.

Lack of content you can buy as individual courses or programs- you must purchase all which aren't necessarily needed or relevant.

Allows for a place to keep our internal training content

It really is a pretty easy program to learn. I didn't come to this with a lot of e-learning experience and was able to pick it up quickly. It looks great and is easy to upload SCORM files into. It has great quiz-reporting capabilities, and the reports I see are in the form of an Excel spreadsheet and include lots of well-organized information.

Our group cannot turn off the scrollbar at the bottom of classes. Even though we have hidden this function, you can still see it. We don't want a scrollbar on all of our content because it is educational, and learners could use this to skip through it. After speaking with Adobe reps, we were told the only way to fix this was to do enhanced customization. Our company is very large, and this would remove the scrollbar for everyone on our account. It's an all-or-nothing solution that is very frustrating.

It is a much more user-friendly and attractive platform than the others we have used. Through catalogs, all of the content companywide is made more accessible, even inter-departmentally. The badge system is fun and our customers like it.

Integration with other softwares can be challenging. License of software is higher side.

An organization can use this tool for all learning and enablement and improving skills of the employee.

The report feature comes up short to meet our requirements. Being able to manage knowledge checks, quickly see what a learner missed and what they selected compared to the correct response is key to meet our reporting requirements and takes a lot of manual manipulation to get there.

Managing training across various regions around the globe

So far, I've only transferred PowerPoint presentations, and the last lesson I did for my website was similar to the PowerPoint presentations I had previously exported into Captivate. I like the fact that I can transfer my presentations. After transferring them, I've added a verbal recording on each of the slides, which I also enjoy. I REALLY like the fact that I can have Knowledge Questions mixed into the presentation to help solidify what I'm teaching. From looking through the user guide, I know there's more to Captivate than what I'm using, but I don't know how to use the other features. Which leads me to what I don't like (the next question).

The tutorials that exist are lacking (to say the least). And there are only a few tutorials for all of the benefits that Captivate offers. It's very disappointing. The current 'best-practice' I've found is to watch the tutorial or read the user manual, and then do your best to figure out what needs to happen. When I purchased Captivate, I wanted to use it to make the presentations for my music site. My site provides lessons to people who want to learn about music, reading music, and playing the piano. So, I finished my first presentation by exporting the PowerPoint presentation I had created, and then I had no clue how to get it on my site. Although I realize this isn't what Adobe offers, but I had to do a bunch of research to figure out how to get Captivate into my Word Press site. Even though this isn't a part of Adobe Captivate, why can't you send your customers to where they can begin to learn what to do? And from there, they can put everything together. To have no 'hand-off' to the next step to put this on a website is pretty tacky. Also, not all of the Quiz question choices work (or at least I can't get them to work). I have problems with the fill-in-the-blank questions and short answer questions. There are cumbersome aspects to the quiz page that I struggle with - resizing the entry areas, in particular, is very frustrating.

I'm able to create a nice tutorial for my site, and I really enjoy being able to use the Quiz function throughout my tutorials. I really like the matching quizzes, and they've worked very well. It's a great benefit that I can create the 'jump-back' page to where the student needs to go to for that particular learning activity when they incorrectly answer the question. That's a problem that has been solved by Captivate. I can even have the answers graded, which is also a great benefit.

It integrates well with Captivate. The reporting system was useful for tracking learner participation. There were a variety of tools designed to provide statistical data.

It was simply too big for our needs and beyond our price point.

Adobe Captivate Prime is sleek and powerful. It was easy to configure and, in conjunction with Adobe Captivate, assembling an elearning course is quick and painless. It was easy to keep control over the students and maintain the organization. It was very well integrated with Adobe Captivate and they work great together.However, two together come at a big cost that an independent educator cannot afford.

Editing capabilities. Different types of styles and formats you can use to create a well-rounded LMS. You could do an interactive walk-through module with a quiz, or a combination of other options. It's great!

Platform could be a little more user-friendly. Make the platform more intuitive so that people rely less on training videos to learn how to use your platform.

Captive allowed us to go fully digital with our training, which took away our need to be on-site for every onboarding, saving us a ton on travel cost.

Extremely user friendly interface that felt professional and clean. I like both the admin UI and the student / learner experience. Also wide support for pretty much any type of learning we wanted to throw at it.

One of our main requirements was external / customer training with eCommerce functionality. This is something that wasn't available with Captivate Prime.

We have decided to move away from Prime due to the lack of eCommerce functionality, so it isn't currently helping us solve any problems. We were very excited about how user friendly it was when compared to our larger corporate training platform. But for our needs, it wasn't a full fit.

The UI is clean and easy to navigate for end users, learners.

As an admin I dislike that I cannot "impersonate" a user like with any other LMS I've experienced. Also on the integration admin end the process is bulky and cumbersome with poor error messaging. There are a good amount of features that in theory would be very useful but don't seem to have been thoroughly developed in practice, such as Import Logs only showing the user csv import, not custom role import. There is no way to see a queue of reports running or if a report will be exceptionally large, to cancel it. Also that running one large report stops others from running, I feel that for such a large company that Adobe could devote more server space to run more that one request at a time when dealing with an account of 100,000+ users. Another piece that needs more development is the ability to filter - on pretty much anything. Inside of courses or programs there is no way to filter by name, completion status, etc. Same feedback on any course that has submissions enabled. In theory it's great that you can have users submit, but not having a way to filter or sort those submissions leaves them out of alphabetical order and mixes approved and awaiting approvals. There can be (and are in some of our courses) thousands of users in that list which makes the management from the instructor side frustrating. Reporting on the admin side could be better, also more options than just dashboard bar graphs, perhaps a traditional report writer format would be more useful. Also, there should be access to a dashboard like the manager dashboard for admins, and the ability to share reports to people other than managers from the dashboard. It LOOKS like you can, but then it doesn't work. Also the email template audiences should be customizable. For example, the "learner clears waitlist" template sends to admin, manager, and learner. We do not want that. We only want it to go to the learner as it creates and incredible amount of unnecessary "noise" when being sent to 200+ managers for a class they know is mandatory for their employees. This has forced us to turn off the notification which means that the learner only sees the info if they log back into captivate prime. Not ideal.

Much better versioning than our previous LMS, able to solve for instructor led trainings, and is shedding light on other processes that need to be shored up to provide correct data to Adobe
