AutoCAD is a professional 2D and 3D CAD program used to design and create digital assets. The software offers drafting and design tools for 2D geometry and 3D models with solids, meshes objects, or surfaces. With AutoCAD, users can automate adding blocks, creating schedules, and comparing drawings ensuring better efficiency. AutoCAD also has a full suite of advanced features for both 2D drafting and 3D modeling. It also offers web and mobile application access for multiple device accessibility, cloud-storage connectivity, and access to the Autodesk app store if you’re looking for more specific extensions.

The stability of AutoCAD 2019 seems to be an improvement over previous releases. My projects are requiring increased levels of 3D design and AutoCAD is becoming more user friendly in it's 3D environment.
I would like to see some development to create 3D parametric blocks. I would also like to see a tool to convert lines to slots.
Complex 3D wood product design, successful product drawings.
The ease of drawing in AutoCad, even though it is an in-depth program, one can learn to utilize it, to its full potential.
Adding text can be difficult at times. Learning when to use annotative and non-annotative is a challange.
Infrastructure mapping. Increase quaility of service to residents
I love all of the features that AutoCAD has to offer. The program itself is necessary for accurate design work including floorplans, 3D models, elevations, etc. The abilities in AutoCAD are endless and that's what makes this program my favorite.
The only thing that I have ever had a problem with in AutoCAD is how I have to go to DWG True view to download an old file and can't just open it. It's just the extra step that makes the process a tad longer.
The ability to give a client an accurate representation of their floor plan with furniture included is marvelous! The fact that I can go in there and do a 2D and 3D drawing of it and be able to show my client what their exact piece of furniture will look like including finishes really helps drive our sales.
Easy to use for newcomers. Clean interface.
Hard to deploy in an enterprise without using a network license.
Using it for any major project at the Parliament.
How efficient it is and the learning process. Can only get you better and more qualified for your job or trade.
Sometimes it crashed but the autosave feature is a life saver.
lets you customize blueprints for specific needs. Helps understand your jobsites even more and how you should proceed.
I like the versatility of the program. You can do a little bit of everything with the autocad program.
I have a love/hate relationship with the fact that you can complete almost every command in 5 different ways, lol.
We use drawings for our technicians to install our systems and then use the same drawings for our service department afterwards. and we give a copy to our client. So it's a win-win.
It's a great versatile tool to make engineering die lines and 2D drawings for my company. I really like the thing that the undo can go all the way until the program was started and some competitors dont have that features like solidworks so this is a really huge plus point for me to use AutoCAD. I like that when I import the PDF i can edit it and I can grab the lines and start drawing off of that and its great
I feel like the company has to make great 3D features for the software to make it really powerful tool that can do anything. Also if I can buy a version right away instead of subscription as I was a student before and I didn't had any choice to buy the software and only subscription Other than that I have no complaints
Making dielines and using it to cut it on our laser machine to prototype it before making it final. We use it to create final engineering drawings for my company. The use of layers is so wonderfully done and its a breeze to use as compared to other competitors and it can run on computers with average configuration and we dont need a really great PC to run it smoothly. I like how we can link the excel sheet to AutoCAD and even after putting in the drawing it can update after we update excel sheet.
All the functionality you've come to expect, plus new features.
Due to the increased functions added, there is some slowdown in performance.
Allows work to be completed to industry standards.
Powerful CAD production tool Familiar interface
Buggy Install when installing from the web.
Industry standard CAD program makes it easy to collaborate.
AutoCAD is very easy to use and there are a lot of features that benefit our company.
There are not that many things we have problems within the software. It's pretty good.
We can design our equipment and streamline our process.
functionality is pretty spot on. I also like being able to create tools yourself.
lack of sync and collaboration makes difficult for team work
AV design/consulting
Autocad is best known for 2D drawing and detailing. Easy to use and user interface is very good.
Sometimes too many icons and options make the interface overcrowded
Design and detailing
AutoCAD is a great design tool which has and is improved year after year.
I wish for better layer management tools. I would like to be able to group types of layers together.
We solve electrical engineering problems, whether it is lighting, power, data or special systems.
I like how you can easily create a floorplan
It gets complicated to use the 3d part of it
Floorplan for interiors
Ease of use between all Autodesk products
Some bugs exist where the program will crash unexpectedly.
Designing floorplans for electrical equipment.
I first used this program while at university, and continued to use it throughout my working career. I am constantly learning shortcuts from colleagues. Easy to share drawings and incorporate the needs of each discipline into one drawing using different layers. Very versatile. 3D capabilities as well!
Practice makes perfect-- when I stopped using it as frequently, my drawing skills became significantly slower. No real dislikes or problems using the program. I have used it at each company where I have worked
Able to use AutoCAD with other programs, whether it is importing other files into CAD, or vice versa.
While learning this software, I like how user friendly it is and how keywords can be typed to excite functions to speed up the design process.
Being the only CAD program I have access to, I have no found a particular dislike yet.
I am able to help my team by doing my own drafting. It allows me to help myself meet schedule dates.
The software is very intuitive. I did not know how to use this particular software but after trying it out for a day I was able to easily figure out the different functions. It is great for 2D drawing and creating layouts is very easy.
I do not like the fact that 3D modeling is hard. There are no 3D planes and sometimes I need to check online.
The problems I am solving with AutoCAD is creating facility layouts to improve the current layout. The benefit is that all different parts can be easily moved.
I really like it is intuitive to use besides having a huge amount of functions. The best part is its official forum. All things I didn't know how to solve or do, I figured it out reading old answers on the forum.
Although the online forum is really good, the "Help" feature inside the software is not very helpful.
I had to use this software to update drawings of some parts we produce. I had never used it before, but it was really easy to learn by myself
I love the ease of use and versatility of AutoCAD
How every new iteration of the program links it to another "thing" online or elsewhere, bogging down the program resulting in frequent freezing despite having next to nothing else running on your computer
Space planning, love the 360 feature, being able to design in all views and easily manipulate 3D designs in the same interface
