Renaming of folders with appended e-mail address, no large files with non-paying account (<250MB), file creation date not maintained when downloading, special OSX folders (.app and others) not supported!

While the large 50GB space seemed appealing, I have stopped using the service due to several technical limitations that make the service (almost) unusable for an OSX user.

i don't really like it. it is hard to use. it keeps asking me to re new my password.

Full of bugs. Wanted to sign up one evening. Wanted to backup files. opened account. Wouldn't allow me to upgrade. I did verify email. After entering cc info, said error message and need to open a support ticket. Just to pay. Tried another card. Same. used different service that actually functions. I do not want to have to open support tickets / communicate through email threads / or place phone calls just to upgrade my account.

Nothing. No one likes anything about Box.

It's difficult to share files. Permissions never seem to be set right. You can get in once, then suddenly you can't access files you previously looked at. The same link no longer works. It's clunky when sharing files with people outside your organization. It's difficult to share files with people inside your organization. We have entire Teams threads about the evils of Box. Anything is better.

Box SHOULD - in theory - solve the problem of large file sharing and serving as a central repository for files that need to be shared, but it is not. If anything, Box creates more problems. Nothing Box does benefits me. Box actually adds to my workload because it's our organization-mandated software and yet everyone struggles with it, so it just creates more work to find and share files.

Most useful for saving small (not large) files and sharing with others.

You cannot upload large files (for example research data) without having to upload overnight and possibly having "failure to upload" in the morning. Would recommend Amazon cloud instead. Had trouble uploading folders that contained folders (the contents of the inner folder wouldn't upload), so I end up making folders and dragging files into them (less efficient than dragging the whole folder into Box). There's no button for ending upload either.

It's a place to put small files. It's easy to use because the functionality is basic but could use more advanced features.

I'm not using box to solve any problems at this time. The only benefit to Box is the ease of use.

I like that Box is HIPAA compliant so that I can keep research documents and collected data in the cloud without violating any laws or ethics.

I have never met someone who entirely understands what Box does and how to utilize it productively. It is a weird site, the desktop apps are strange and generally, they don't have much information available that is clear and concise enough to be much help.

The two biggest problems and the benefits of Box that go along with that are the need to share documents with team members and to be able to put them in a cloud that is HIPAA compliant that is also free or inexpensive since I do health science research.

these people are used car salesmen suck you in with a product level that will not meet your needs then disappear.... even after an upgrade... you have ZERO support.... fill out a ticket... still waiting two days later!!!

I do like that this provides an alternative to other sorts of cloud products; however, personally, I wouldn't say I like it that much. It may primarily be in part that I am a bit biased towards other cloud-based products such as google drive. I like google drive because it is directly linked to my email, so it is easier to keep things integrated into one program instead of moving between different sources. That means its existence sort of further develops other cloud programs, as there isn't a sort of monopoly, and the overall technology of cloud products can collectively grow better.

I really do not like this as a cloud program whatsoever. As stated before, I find it very confusing sometimes, and its relatively low usage among groups that I am in sort of makes it useless. If 99% of the world is using google drive or some other major cloud product, and the other 1% uses Box, then it's pretty obsolete. So there is a lack of inter-app exchanges. But even when I use it for the organizations that use Box, I find it rather challenging to navigate. I have tried to save to it before but have yet to have a file actually stay within that cloud. It seems to disappear as if it was saved to a hard drive instead of a cloud. But this could also be due in part to user error, and maybe I just need better training on how to use the app.

How its a SCAM, and I cannot get a refund.

Box is trash, the service is trash. I wanted to purchase one user at a monthly rate. I was charged $180 and called to cancel and get a refund. They said I have to have this account for a year and won't give me my money back. This is a SCAM!!! Do not puchase Box.

It is cloud based and simple to use. Easy to access

Having a centralized system to store documents

Box came with a greater free storage space than other similar services.

While more storage space was a good thing, the file size limit was very annoying. I could not store and back up large files with free storage. I have also used the paid version and it faces syncing issues. It was hard for me as a user to extract all my files when I wanted to stop paying and the support took very long to get it resolved, during which I had to keep paying. The file download process was way too complicated for a paid cloud product.

I had to use box because the company I worked at used it and I really did not enjoy it because of the aforementioned issues. I would recommend that box makes its interphase more user-friendly, and keep the downloading process straightforward.

Box makes it easy to share a document link with whomever you'd like, sort of like sharing a drive.

I dislike how Box requires you to open a ton of links before getting to what you actually want/need.

I've made it easy to get a document out to a large group of people. Especially within an organization, it makes things easier.

Last year I paid for a Box online storage account for the company I worked for at the time. I had listed my work email. The company folded last year. 12 months later Box renewed my subscription automatically for a year at a cost of $360. I caught the charge a few days later but Box would not give my money back. They claimed they sent a reminder email to my defunct work address. I informed them that the business shut down and so no one checked that email. They still would not give me my money back.

Nothing that another service wouldn't do without the terrible customer support.

1. I can't search for keywords or title in the box drive, which I think is a basic function that Box should have 2. Our team runs into multiple sync issues all the time. I once lost my entire file since it wasn't synced in time. This never happened with Dropbox 3. Version control sucks

Because i am staff at university of illinois at urbana champaing, so Box is provided for free and unlimited storage. So, the best thing i like from box is i can store everything in Box

I've installed Box in my computers. I expect all files are synchronized almost in real time like Dropbox. However, the synchronization is slow and many folders or files are missed.

I am using Box as cloud storage and synchronize for all my computers to work at any place.

I like the full folder upload and file upload features of Box and its storage limit

I think it has a friendlier interface for older folks (my coworkers). It's pretty clear what happens and what your options are at any given time. Microsoft office integration is nice.

The fact that you can't simultaneously work on a project (functionality that Google drive has had for a decade) means I avoid using it outside of work.

It always says that I have no room in my dropbox and won't stop reminding me of it. Seems like an annoying ploy to get people to pay more money for more space.
