Box is great for small business, students, interns, or those wanting to save money by using this service instead of more expensive alternatives. Box provides a great service for a fraction of the cost their competitors offer.
People are not as familiar with Box, as they are other platforms. So, it takes a little explaining if you send a link to someone, just because there isn't that brand awareness yet.
We use other file sharing platforms and cloud storage, but for our interns or for backup storage this meets our needs. Box is great for collaborating with vendors or clients out of the office.
The collaboration feature is very useful to modify what people can do with file.
Depending on how a folder is shared can depend on if the Search feature can be used.
The ease of collaborating makes editing documents happen realtime.
I like that BOX is very user friendly. I like that it states who has uploaded the document and when it is was last worked on and that it automatically saves in real time. It is very easy to organize files into folders within folders, which makes it easier to collaborate
Sometimes it can be a little hard to search in BOX.
A unified place to store resources and collaborate on multiple documents.
the best part about Box is that we can control the version about each document and is readily available/accessible to anyone by just sending them the URL of file placed at box.
Many time we have tried to update the file on box but it doesn't get updated. We reported the same to box support but no reply from them
We realized that box is essential and a file repository place to easily access any file from any location instead of sending it through email everytime.
I think the best from Box is the amount of space we receive for free. Also has a very nice way to share item with everyone you want. It's a friendly user web page, all the options are very clear and it's easy to use, even if you not a all day computer user.
I think one thing they can change is the appearance of the web page. I think that the prices for the larger mounts of space is expensive, will result more attractive for the clients if they have more options to choose, that adapt to their needs.
At this moment we solved problems like send to our partners files or programs that we couldn't send by email. Now with my new functions in work, I need to have so many things backed up, we call this Configuration Items (CI), in order to be sure that all the things we need to make a program work be save in the cloud.
It's a very easy to use cloud solution. Drag and drop what you need, and keep it pushing.
Hard to say, but maybe the user interface can be a bit easier (but now you're just nit pickin)
Sharing larger documents with clients, where email doesn't work
I love how Box allows to share important files without email attachments .instead sending receipt where they can download it makes it easy to upload files from any platform and backing up your files. while also allowing you to set users as editors, reviewers etc. Allows us to share large documents with the team and with clients.
Nothing to dislike this is one of the best file sharing / hosting cloud based platform that exists in this day and age!
We need to share documents internally within the organization so that they are available within the team while also using this software to help keep files and documents private and accessible.
The ability to quickly upload files is invaluable. I'm able to access my files no matter where I am in the country
Nothing to dislike. The product works as
Shareability we can access files in multiple offices
I love the fact that I can access it from anywhere that I have access to the Internet.
I don't like the fact that two people can not be in the same document at the same time without it having a challenge.
We love box as we store EVERYTHING there. With that, if anything happens to any of our computers, nothing will happen to our data.
Box is relatively light on the features but gives a good sized storage for the price. I got into Box when their free storage was 10x the size that it is today, so I get a different experience than others.
Box is missing the ability to request files from others. However, it does have the ability to create widgets and submit files via email.
Box allows us to sync files across devices without using our server or cloud services tied to a user account.
BOX is easy to use because I can share a link with someone and they can instantly go there and upload any files they want me to see. I can also see the upload history, including time, email associated with the person that uploaded documents, and I can limit the access of other users so I can organize everything the way that I want it.
Sometimes I have to open up the box online service in order to resync with each of my individual computers.
It has very user friendly app and gives access using mobile devices which is crucial nowadays.
Box is a great way to upload files / folders that you need to store or share. Simple and easy to use.
There are a few instances that it times out and it needs to be reloaded. Not so much of a issue, just a hassle having to reload or sign back in.
Overall efficiency streamlining office based files / folders to corporate and other filing for clients.
It's really simple to use, very little onboarding needed. Also, now we can make changes on the docs directly via Microsoft online.
I like that you can take and store notes on the platform, but other than that it's not a place really for collaborative brainstorming/work
Store living and archived documents for various teams.
Can save data up to 10GB for free. Easy to use platform. Can share large files easily with any of our work colleagues remotely.
More functionality within the box platform. Also, occasionally takes a long time to open documents.
Sharing files with work colleagues. Saves time and improves efficiency.
I like the Box Sync feature where I can access select Box folders from my local hard drive. This makes it easy to keep items updated and control versions. I also like that Box keeps a version history for all documents, so even if someone saves something over you by accident, you can go back and access an old version.
I don't like how often I have to ask my company's Box admin to up my storage limits. This might be company-specific, but sometimes I am not sure if I need more space or the folder owner needs more space, so rather than requesting more space myself, I have to reach out to the folder owner (who may or may not be super involved in the project) to request additional space for themselves.
Box is the best way for us to keep collaborative projects organized. My team works with multiple other teams throughout the University and Hospital; we can create a new Box folder for every project and then keep everything organized from there. Everyone can see the latest version of every document it, and either sync it to their computer or download it and re-upload it when they're done working on it. Box is fairly good at ensuring people don't work on the same version and erase each other's work.
