As someone who is not able to code, I enjoy being able to leverage standard templates through Contentful to publish content quickly and efficiently. I typically use contentful to publish blogs, product updates, webinar registration pages, documents, and more - all without the incremental help of the already extremely busy web team that supports the marketing org.
Although Contentful continues to improve, I desire more standardized templates that I can use to create new web pages in an agile manner. I also desire the ability to change text and images on existing webpages without affecting the structure of the layout.
Contentful makes it easy for non--technical users to publish content to the web using standardized templates. As a result, I, the user benefit from the ability to publish content to the web without the help of the web team.
Professionally I must add that the tool is quite necessary for operations in terms of content management in a complete way, I like it mainly because I do not consider it a difficult tool to use or expensive, its functions allow you to create a more specific content model of ours. brand as well as being precise and punctual when giving some type of message and that it captures the attention of our clients, allows us to create tickets at our convenience and be more customizable
In general, I have not presented any option that requires this system or that I consider does not work well, it is easy to understand it, so it is much easier for a professional to work with it.
When we talked about having a system that would improve operations, the need arose to have a program that would allow content to be shared quickly and it is something that this system has allowed in recent years, as well as how to distribute it quickly.
I like how Contentful forces you to think about the way the content is structured. You need to create a Content Model for each different piece of content. For example, we built a website that is heavily based on code samples. We have created a CodeSample object, which contains one or more CodeBlock objects. A CodeBlock is written in a certain ProgrammingLanguage, and that ProgrammingLanguage is available on a certain Platform. This setup allowed us to write multi-platform code samples in a structured way. Our team also liked that Contentful comes with a GraphQL API to retrieve content in any way you can think of. Plus, we saved time by using the Typescript client library in our project. It also helped us a lot that the features of Contentful are documented extensively.
When we started using Contentful, there was no support for tables. This was a big downside for us, as we heavily used tables in our old website. You had to create your UI extension to create tables. In April 2022 we were delighted to read that Contentful now supported Tables in Rich Text. When you have a lot of content, finding the exact piece of content you need to edit can become difficult. It helps to filter based on Content Model and to write good internal names for your content pieces. You often need to click through multiple levels of content to reach the piece you are looking for. Each level overlays the other, once you have 5+ levels it becomes challenging to remember each underlaying layer in the editor.
Contentful helped us to structure our content, and is now helping us to keep our website accessible because we have full control over the data which needs to be entered. For example, we have made it opt-out to write an alt-text for each image, instead of opt-in like most Content Management Systems.
- The ease of use; - It is very unlikely to experience a crash, freeze or some unknown error while using Contentful; - Modifying an existing article or writing and publishing a new one is very easy; - The possibility of sending pushes (notificiations) to mobile devices; - More stable compared to other content managers; - Working with the different versions is excellent as well;
- Uploading and editing the details (title, description, link, alt attribute etc.) of an image is not so straightforward and probably requires too many clicks - It would be helpful if the image workflow process were redesigned.
- Trying to edit an already published article is much easier with Contentful; - Sending a mobile notification (push) only to users in a particular geographical area; - Recovering older versions of an article;
Contentful guarantees that amateurs don't need to stress over overseeing and redoing content. It is adaptable. Reproducing the structures has never been an issue with Contentful. It is a cloud-based CMS and has a solid content tool.
Taking everything into account, it doesn't offer palatable channels. It is costly for presenting functionalities. More updates should be made to meet the contenders. Also, a public guide ought to be broadcast for impending highlights in the deliveries that are to be made. Recommendations:
Contentful brings to the table a demonstrated connection point that is natural and easy to understand for each client, in any event, for those people who do not have experience with creating sites. It requires no kind of coding. It permits different groups to team up with one another on a specific undertaking/task.
Contentful is very flexible and has a great ecosystem of quality apps and a massive community of developers supporting it. For content managers, it's the best content editing experience for enterprise platforms on the market.
Very little, actually. The product team is very open about its roadmap and involves customers in early access programs to ensure the solution meets their needs. The entry-level plan is perhaps a bit limited if you're looking to get started with headless, MACH-based solutions.
Managing a multilocal, multilingual enterprise platform with a small and agile team. Launching new campaigns, uploading or modifying content, distributing it across channels, and making your platform work harder for the brand are straightforward. The API-first approach also enables a lot of integrations with best-in-class solutions.
Contentfull makes landing page creation quick and easy. Anyone on a marketing team can build a beautiful page in minutes
The only thing that can be a problem with Contentfull is that a modification on a block can lead to changes on other pages. So you have to be very careful!
My team is autonomous in building web pages. No one needs technical knowledge
We as an NGO have the problem to find great software to build our app and have it at an affordable price. Contentful offers all functionalities we need for our basic application and is highly customizable.
It is a little tougher in the beginning to learn everything you need to know about the tool. But when you come from a little CMS experience, you will get along quite quickly
Contentful offers the chance to build custom datamodels, so we can structure our content and sites in a way it is tailored for our need. That is the biggest upside.
I've used many CMS before and Contentful is one of the best. We have a very complex content production process with many global sites and locales and Contentful handles it all very well. Also seems to be easy for our developers to build on top of. As a Content Marketer myself, it allows my team to produce a variety of content and is reliable.
I'd like to be able to view more than 40 entries on a single page to have an easier view of a lot of content on one page. Also the ability to export to a CSV a list of entries by their URL so we can have a list of articles/entries directly from Contentful.
Contentful helps solve the issue of producing content a global scale with a distributed team. It also helps validate checks within content, and allow developers to build on the platform to customize to our needs.
It´s an easy tool to help you create and/or modify websites. The best feature in my opinion? the autosave, you can count on Contentful to have your back if anything happens as all your work will be there where you left it. It has a friendly interface that allows you to work on the platform even if you´re new to it (I find it to be intuitive). Apiece of advice: Make sure to publish changes before publishing ;)
Sometimes things are "hidden" in the pages e.g you need to modify a specific section within the page, you´ll have to click several times in a section before you find it and you need to pay attention to what you´re modifying as it is really easy to make changes that will reflect in other linked pages.
Accelerating the webpage creation without stealing time from the developers for creating and updating pages for resources/assets as this allows us to do it via self-service.
The ability to support multiple locales in a modern framework, without impacting performance, and just as importantly streamlining our translators' workflow.
We haven't come across any dislikes yet.
Contentful is helping us to separate the data from the presentation layer, and scaling locale support our museum exhibits, and user stories without sacrificing performance or ease of use.
Best cloud-based content management framework. More straightforward keeping up with of items with sort of organization spaces conditions. Create straightforward by showing every one of the pages in a solitary table view
Order show of fields when you need to plunge into the keep going kid field. No honor in refreshing the components in the rich word processor. Building the application requires a long time to make the blueprint and bootstrapping the data. Inaccessibility of channel usefulness to sift through the unused resources. Needs a ton of instances of the prescribed utilize Contentful with gatsby.
We are keeping up with the items on the cloud. Simple see of the changes. Gives showcasing group great adaptability. Great information organizing design with the Richtext supervisor. Keeping up with every one of the resources in the cloud.
I really like the developer experience, on the community slack channel especially, anyone who get's stuck can ask for help.
Lack of documentation in certain areas like the app framework in the past
Providing an excellent platform as a headless CMS solution, A lot of our clients are seeing it as a great alternative to Drupal. For example: Powering things like digital touch screen displays and advertisting boards inside gyms.
Compose functionality Releases Page View SEO implementation Rich Text Editor Avif/Webp Image Support
Poor filtering Costlier for composing functionality Not much provided best practices code examples Not much support of the deployment of App framework Not able to update their UI components from Storybook
I was managing all the contents in the cloud. Faster build. SEO handling Asset Management without worrying about the underlying storage Deployment slots
- Easy to Use Software - Adaptability - User Friendly - Ability to duplicate forms instantly, which saves time rather than needing to recreate every document each time
- More training could be provided - More updates - There could be more functionalities added to the software to improve the overall end to end experience for users
- Form builder has been great for creating forms and duplicating rather than starting from scratch - For replicating, Contentful has made the process much more easy than previous
Workflow has made life better and easy, with new innovations and excellent support we are loving the product, and continuously adding new things to it as it is a nice thing.
Just a customized thing will be good for replies.
Invoice/query managment
I like best that Contentful is easy to use.
I don't like that it is sometimes has bugs; for example, copying a page sometimes doesn't work.
I am updating different landing pages
I like Contentful very much to integrate with React. It saves a lot of time to create multiple pages on gatsby js. Rich text rendering with references, fetching data in graphql way, Locales.
1. Unable to fetch the field data in graphql, without adding the placeholder in contentful. 2. We can see the last updated user name, but are unable to see what they updated the data. 3. We need the filter like this, Assume after selecting the page type, there is a field contententries. we can add multiple component types in contententries. _Page: Basic -> contententries -> Element: CTA. We need the filter like all the CTA entry available inside the contententries of Basic page. 4. When creating Locales, It is showing more text boxes for each locale. It is a little awkward to see. you can put a filter option to see the particular locale.
1.Rich text references helped so much. Content authors can easily add the different types of content types in rich text. Developers also easily extract the content type and render the component. 2. component created in gatsby js against each contentful content type and re-used the component with different data from contentful
Contentful makes it easy for our team to create and manage website content without having to worry about messing up the code! Paired with GatsbyJS, they've made website development and management easier than imaginable. They're quick to answer questions, allow for ultimate content modeling flexibility, quick querying via Graphql, and our developer loves working with them. Gone are the days of operating a headless WP, Drupal or *insert old tech here*, security updates, and complicated plugins - we use Contentful.
The learning curve for those who are unfamiliar with CMS tools. The rich text editor is also something that can use some improvement.
A faster, more reliable website that we can't break! A robust tool that allows for customization while maintaining structured content throughout the site.
Easy integration and flexibility to bild a high class user experience.
The Image Optimization could be a little bit better - but great to have these build in.
We build high availability digital products.
