The setup was really fast and we were able to publish our website on 2 weeks. Also, we are really happy with the interface to add and manage content with a good productivity. Support teams always have a quick response time and accurate answers.
Regarding payment method, we sometime lacked another options because we had problem with our credit card. But the Billing Support team helped us until we found a solutions, so it was ok.
It was faster to implement Contenful CMS than coding our own CMS. This was really important because the delivery time of the project was really short!
The flexibility of the platform is really remarkable. From content modeling to the editor interface, you can build everything to work with your team. Their CLI tools are also really nice.
Some of the 3rd party app integrations are a little clunky but otherwise no complaints.
it is at the center of our media business.
Our team has really enjoyed the flexibility Contentful gives us in managing our content; as a non-profit without in-house developers, it has given us the freedom to keep updating our content creatively without always needing to hire a contractor. We like how easy it is to preview content in draft mode in QA. It's great to be able to add helper text for different sections so that we can quickly onboard new users. Adding content for additional languages is easy.
Sometimes it is too easy for a user to accidentally change something - but that is probably mostly a matter of training users well & how your space is set up. We would also like to have more content types, but it is possible to purchase those.
We are delivering content to a wide variety of partners through a few different tools, and having many different non-technical staff members collaborate on creating and updating that content. One big benefit has been our ability to target content to certain groups and users through Contentful, and to easily add additional languages.
As a Software Engineer, Contentful has been a grace to use on multiple projects with multiple use cases. The API is straight forward and very easy to use and content structuring and linking to create dynamic and static sites is the most optimized between the varied CMSs that I have used, and it comes with a great interface for content editors and creators. I am specifically a fan of their APP integration, which makes it so much easier to develop in certain technologies (e.g. Gatsby) and if you're using other 3rd party services for hosting or other uses.
I have honestly never run into any serious issues while using contentful in the past 3 years. They have libraries and integrations that will fit most of your development needs
I run a non-profit organization called Bureaucrazy with a small team, and due to the nature of the services that our organization provides, we needed a solution to be able to update or content rapidly and on the fly, with a very easy to use interface, that's why we landed on Contentful. We use contentful to structure our data, build up dynamic pages on the site and define conditional content linking. One of the most important benefits that we have realized is using their new APP feature, which allows us to use easier and quicker to develop technologies and run content updates through their webhooks, automated deployments and run updates with a click of a button, which before considering we're a very small team was very time-consuming. Contentful were ass well kind enough to provide our non-profit organization with a free plan to use on our site and on our upcoming Webapp
Contentful makes data modeling extremely easy. It takes minutes to build a database schema to create a new app. I love how I can manage all the content in one place and distribute it to all sorts of systems.
While they offer a generous free plan, the pricing could get expensive pretty fast depending on your usage.
We are creating a content-rich application, Contentful allows us to manage content in one place and distribute to all sorts of different platform. The API calls are really fast and the documentation of each language is very well documented.
What I like most about Contentful is that we were up and running in minutes. We needed an API to go live but didn't have the time or resources to build everything in house. The second thing that I really love is the caching system. We perform a change and it's live immediately, no need to do anything else, and we love that!
For our use, it's missing the possibility to add logic to the fields. We would like to simplify the templates for the editors, so that they focus on the important fields... a little bit of logic would be great for that (if a, then do not display this field, etc).
Contentful has allowed us to go live in minutes with a rock-solid API. It would have taken us months to come up with an alternative (we developed a data collection software, and Contentful powers the surveys).
While building a new software with a lot of unknowns, one of the best decisions a software company can make is to use Contentful to tackle the complexities with highly reliable and flexible content infrastructure. The core product is very simple and efficient, scales from beginning to end. On top, it offers a great marketplace (and ability to build your own apps/extensions) that makes Contentful the winner of its own market. Highly recommended.
UX has some room for improvements, and company seems to be already working hard on adressing it.
We use Contentful for storing and managing highly dynamic data that is subject to change often structurally. Some ofthese data is partially business logic, some of them are layout (yes - we use Contentful as a layout editor as well!) Contentful not only makes it possible, it also provides a neat interface to manage it so we don't have to re-invent the wheel. For us, it's way beyond a CMS actually.
- Quick & friendly customer support - Flexible with few limitations - Simple and straight forward to work with - Possibility to custimize - Anyone can work with it once project is set up
- Minor limits in location API - Requires developer skills to set up project (which is why it comes with the advanced features we like, so not really a minus)
- Complex tagging of different content types to create a sophisticated search engine on site - Linking an external automated content base that updates the CMS content continuously
We tried just about all the headless CMS solutions, and Contentful was the most polished, most fully-featured, and was the easiest for non-technical team members to figure out and use.
GraphQL is the future of APIs, and most small startups use it now, but it is limited to the higher-level plans.
We use Contentful to manage everything from our websites and landing pages, to which sponsors to display on which programs, to configuration options and translations for in-person displays.
Even for those not used to CMS, the UI is simple and intuitive.
Spaces and users need a certain amount of development.
It's easy to use and super clean to enjoy so much. LOVE how our different parties will receive updates and review their different sections. Nevertheless, it is not possible to chat on the forum with direct support or assistance. Spaces and client interfaces were also available in different packages-this would help us increase the size.
