User friendly, simple to drag and drop task for resources but able to seem multiple resources task on one screen.
I wish it had more calendar capabilities. Schedule meetings etc.
We were manually keeping track in Microsoft Word / Excel. Limiting to one person being able to edit at a time, instantly solved with Float.
ease of use, user friendly easy to understand
you can add more feature for users in (rights for instance)
time better orga
Can easily, clearly and efficiently see my workflow and projects for the coming weeks.
None really other than it can take a little long to initially load up - but that may be down to the large amount people in the company loading up.
Letting people clearly know what jobs and projects they have on over a period of time.
It's very easy to use and has many usefull features.
A feature that tallies the hours per week would be nice.
We use it in stead of filling out timesheets so it reduces time and paperwork.
The ease of adding project hours across multiple days/weeks makes organizing work really simple.
That sometimes you can be booked too many hours in a day - when working multiple projects with multiple PM's. I'm not sure if PM's get a warning but a red box saying 'Hey, maybe this person doesn't want to work 16 hours' might be helpful.
A clear and concise way to view when and for how long I am working on something
Flexibility, easy to use, self explanatory features
The cursor can turn into completion or deletion mode without warning, creating half days tasks is annoying
It's an easy way to keep track of employees, it acts symbiotically with JIRA
Ability to manage workload and float between tasks for a large group of people. Ability to use same tasks across the organization and assign to people. Ability to create recurring tasks.
it takes a while to change color for tasks. It is hard to see float for a group of people that have the same tasks. It is hard to create groups of people for non admins.
It helps our organization to assign tasks to staff and see their availability over a future period of time.
How clear I can see my time, fully customisable to add colour coding (which is my absolute soft spot) and that it allows to see what my peers are working on as well.
The mobile app could do with some streamlining to view more than 4 weeks of my time as we have lots of projects that are scheduled very much ahead that I'd love to be able to see at a glance!
I believe it helps massively with the organisation of our team's internal availability and gives us the flexibility to change and re-organise last minute.
I was looking for a tool that would allow capacity planning and tracking for a project management team. We needed a tool which allows to share the planning with the client on RO access. This tool simply provided me with all the aspects i wanted. moreover, it's friendlyness and ease of use convinced me (if needed) to select it. A look at the price confirmed my choice. It was without any doubt the best value for money I assessed.
As the team leader and administrator of the Float Application I feel is missing : The report Tab is not available on mobile devices. The capacity report tab is only in hours and we can't have it in load %.
Float is definitively easy to use and still brings me with the expected features. I have no regret on my choice !
Float provides a seamless and super-responsive interface for us to manage our projects and our teams. Real-time collaboration, integration into the tools we use (Slack). In the 4 months we've been using it we've completely transformed the way we manage, schedule and track our projects. We love it.
Float has really helped us fill the gaps in the previous platform we were using (10,000 ft). Additional customized reporting would be helpful, but isn't blocking us in anyway at the moment.
Float's real-time updates and collaboration mean that we can have multiple team members editing our schedule and projects in realtime without versioning problems.
