i like how easy it is to use and how it takes in to considerations real working environments
Sometimes it can lag especially when trying to find something.
scheduling for large creative team
Simple to use, easy user interation. Is very powerfull tool for the core functions .
non or low customization on reports. i wish i could pre define filters and how the report is made.
knowing where we are spending the resources, and in such way to be more produtive.
Easy to use Customizable Working at any platform
Does not support agile methodology Absent of some analysis features
I need a tool to show me how all employees are occupied, and if I add some tasks them, it show me , you can not add this tasks to this one, because he is full for next two or three days ..
Easy to use, and best of all quick to understand. With minimal learning upfront, you can create a functioning timeline easily
It can be difficult to have a clear overview of all projects on going, without having to manually close every line
It helps manage resource internally
I like being able to see the full overview of everyone's activities, tasks, and projects in the office at once but then search through and see only the projects I want to see or am currently working on to clear out the schedule so I can focus. I love also having specific tasks within projects, as many have long lead times and deadlines split among many different individuals.
This is may be more of a problem on our end - but we have so many projects concurrently running that we ran out of colors that really contrast to visualize who is working on what at a glance. Our office also doesn't quite function by hours per day or billable hours, so it can feel strange to arrange the days like that - however, it's helpful to arrange things by hour to sort out your day and workflow. I would also like if it integrated into our dropbox or google docs accounts - if we could pin or upload files to specific tasks. That would be a great feature to have in the future.
Because we have so many projects and such a small staff, it's helpful to be able to look at Float and see exactly who is working on what. Also there are very long leads on projects vs. shorter term timelines on projects that are currently happening, so it's helpful to be able to integrate both in one view.
Nice navigation and easy to use in a smart way. My days have been much easier since I started to use this tool. We are not using Excel as a planning tool anymore, I like that because that should be used with data instead.
Sometimes slow with new updates and are missing some parts. The customer support could be a little bit better I would say.
We are using it as a tool to do resource planing.
The ease of use, it's fast an easy to get a quick overview of your tasks
It can be a bit slow, it could be smoothed over a bit better.
Resource planning
Easy to use, and colour coded blocks of time allocation make using the system, much simpler to understand and interact with. Recent addition of the endless scroll / fewer load times has made the experience much more usable too.
Still some load times / lag of the system still gets in the way of quickly searching / scrolling for the information I need
Time and resource allocation for employees and clients
I'm using Float via Browser as an employee in an advertising agency. It's very clearly, well structured and has some useful features.
Some of it's functionalities are a little bit hard to find, for example the different view options.
Altogether Float is a very convenient Tool with good overviews and functionalities. In the company I'm working for, Float is used as a Human Ressource Management and Job Overview Tool.
Easy to use, intuitive user interface and experience
Missing some functionality that I would like to have used
Viewing overall team capacity and resourcing. Able to allocate resources more efficiency and increase overall transparency.
The interface is simple yet functional. You can have an overview of all schedules in a single page.
Some minor glitches when the screen is crowded.
Easy time scheduling and daily work organization
The easy to understand and use interface, along with the transparency it provides to the rest of the organization. It is a great self-scheduler and to understand my colleague's capacity.
Sometimes the website is difficult to use (i.e. I scroll and it moves a month rather than me just trying to go to the next week).
It is especially useful for my organization where understanding other's schedules is important. This provides transparency to my bosses and team members.
Float as a simple shared calendar/planning tool do the job.
But Float interface looks a bit old fashioned.
It solved the planning issues
Being able to plan my work out – having visibility
A bit glitchy Not much room to give info on the job briefs etc
Visibility of work
Daily email reminders, and it's easy to filter specific people.
When we first used it, it was very slow.
Sending email reminders are very handy, and being able to easily check other colleagues timetables.
Simple, clutter free and web based scheduling. Allows me to see the weeks ahead at a glance.
Performance, a little sluggish at time on my system.
Scheduling and accounting for time spent on projects.
Very simple to use straight out of the box, I had schedules panned within minutes of beginning to use the program.
pale colors, a little fiddly to set up some of the categories within the program.
Scheduling training visits for a team of remote trainers throughout the US.
how float gives the visibility on the number of projects running, the resources required on each project and the workload on everyone in the team.
float has a tendency of hanging. on multiple occasions, resource work-blocks were input but were not reflected.
resource allocation and workflow - which ensures that work is distributed properly and reduces burnout rate
Float allows us to customize how we use the tool to complement our billing system and maximize our human capital.
I wish we could tie it to our billing system and only have one point of data entry.
Better equips us to see when staff is available for assignment to a project.
It's easy to see who has availability across a large team
Loads slow for large teams. Doesn't integrate with Teamwork so you have to manually enter all tasks into Float
Float helps us see, across a large team, which members are at full capacity and which ones have availability to take on new tasks.
