The massive range of colours that means projects are easy to distinguish.
Not being able to type a custom project name each time.
The benefits of looking at people's calendars next to each other (which is clearer than merging them on, say, Google Calendars).
Being able to compare my schedule now, my future schedule, and my co-workers schedules.
Having to scroll through everyone's names alphabetically to get to who I'm looking for.
No actual problems. The biggest benefit is that it's easy to use and see everything together.
Allows you to manage multiple projects easily, good way to communication with project managers and human resources, easy to use
Constantly logs you out through the application so you need to re-log in every time you get a notification (super glitchy mobile app)
Easy to use in terms of moving projects around, easy to understand as a user
This solid resource management software has many positive features among which I can first mention its interface which is very intuitive and with a really fantastic design, it also offers a lot of collaborative tools for project planning and scheduling of real-time tasks, The drag and drop function is excellent as well as its tools for reporting and editing, is a highly effective platform for forecasting budget expenditures which is very helpful to develop future plans that allow us to function according to the capacity and real resources finally presents a lot of dedicated integrations with Slack, Teamwork and Google calendar just to name a few
Some of the negative points that I have found in this software are the mobile application is very poor even I do not find a utility I would like to improve this, I am not very satisfied with the search functions of this software is actually very complicated to schedule projects, labels and departments, the time tracking of each activity that is running many times is inaccurate what is a major problem especially for those who carry out the functions of manager finally we have your technical support which I consider is very poor
Much of my organization uses Float for project planning based on employee capacity where we can also set individual work hours, add holidays, holiday schedules and create a detailed description where we can visualize where and when an employee is working, budget forecasting tools are very useful within my organization and have allowed us to solve a lot of problems and create schedules that really work and are effective finally it has helped us much better schedule our employees through messaging functions, reports and schedule distribution
User friendly, visually appealing, effective resource management tool, cheaper
Not customizable, doesn't integrate with other programs, cannot tweak API or make suggestions to correct.
Managing a team of 40 people with varying skill sets, availability, interests and projects all under one view and system.
The schedule feature is easy to understand from the get-go. The design is fluid and it's excellent to see what your team is working on alongside you.
I would quite like to see animated or interactive data.
Float is helping delegate projects between members with ease.
Easy to change , easy to navigate, good overview
Lack of financial and cost integration on a deeper level, customizable
ressource planning, project tracking
Easy to use. Integrating with other programs
Don't like the color palette of the program.
Planning your workday and the whole team.
It's helped formalize resourcing at my agency and helped stakeholders get a better snapshot of what's going on, what's bogging people down and what's coming up.
Lack of ability to create a dashboard(s) - like one that shows all team members in one place based on account or project without having to click around as much. Don't like how hours are shown for each team member over several days (would prefer if it showed how much time is allotted per day as well as total time - think this would just make it easier to view).
Resourcing! We needed things more formalized and needed better synergy between offices (especially because resources are now being shared across offices). It's beneficial to actually see hours in order to understand bandwidth
That you can see availability team by team, rather than looking up specific people or scrolling through the entire company
There is a bit of a lag in email updates, when changes have been made to my calendar.
The ability to track other people's time other than my own
it's great for our schedule/planning we use it every working day
the interface cannot handle much information we need to be able to show more details in one view
we can now see when where to work also for all our colleagues.
Float has really robust, one or two button press financial reports - you can get a really accurate report per project, per quarter or per annum to allow really good profit and loss figures that are accurate to the hour. It is very good in the way it allows quick blockouts of time for the planning of things like feature development and also details and notes within individual tasks. The most important factor is browser based, one stop shop of visibility for all team to allow best possible visibility for inter discipline dependencies. Outsource schedules can be added too. It's really simple to mark individual team members as users or admins to allow the right people access to the schedule and get visibility wide across the team. I like the clean layout and the simple interface. It allows easy implementation of placeholder and actual holiday and sickness/annual leave. It is very quick and easy to use with a clean UI, simple to set up projects with unique colours which can be really useful when looking at a schedule with multiple projects on the go concurrently. As mentioned the browser based nature is important and allows to have a tab open and quickly switch between other work and checking the schedule or answering questions regarding work marked up in float. Obviously having the information stored cloud based is also secure against server failures. I have enjoyed using the product overall and think it has contributed to increased productivity for the team.
It's not possible to band box select multiple tasks, you have to shift select them. It's a small usability niggle only. The rest is very good.
Much more accurate per project financial reports Much more accurate planning for a growing development team that is much quicker to instigate than our previous solution (Excel).
The ability to see what projects myself and others are booked on.
Navigation could be better via scrolling.
Easier scheduling.
The simplicity which in turn makes it easy to use. It's quite minimalistic
Lack of automation support. I would like to see a few more options for automation
Tracking project across employees
Allows me to easily log my scheduled hours on a daily basis.
I was initially unsure about how to manage scheduling vs logging my hours.
Allows my managers to assign me hours and track how many of those hours are actually being logged.
