Smartsheet Reviews: 4.4/5 — Solid Choice

It has helped me manage projects at work. What I really love about it is its Project Scheduling feature. For each project I undertake, there is plenty of data available, which can help to stay ahead of my schedule, monitor the progress of my tasks and deliver projects on a timely basis.

I wish Smartsheet had sub-tasks level to use. Some tasks depend on another sub-task, making it difficult to prioritize which tasks. I would also suggest improving the user interface to make it appear more friendly.

While Smartsheets interface is user-friendly, it can take time and effort to learn the ins and outs of the software, especially if you're new to working with spreadsheets. Particularly as its very similar but also slightly different to excel. Its a cloud based platform - it doesn't have the easy feel as it does when working on desktop version

As its a cloud based software - often excel isnt great for cross collaboration across teams. Now, as we have a cloud best system we can link these towards various in house pieces of software. The links are so well established that they do not break - also the permissions software is well created so its easy to allow and deny users to edit the data for greater protection. As a result, we have saved both time and effort when collecting and anlaysing data points.

Like how we can create worksheets and reports and collaborate with the whole team through them

One of my biggest problems is that on a report in the calendar view, you can't click and drag items, we have to go back to the source sheet for the report and change dates etc.

Smartsheet has given us a platform that allows us to colloborate and manage daily tasks with ease.

1. Efficient. Smartsheet is a combined Email, SharePoint, and Excel. No need to switch software as they are all in the same interface. 2. Reliable. Automated workflows help send notifications. It's like you have another employee doing the task. 3. Organized and collaborative. It acts as a File Storage and Communication tool. Files and comments can be stored at row, sheet, and workspace levels. Users in the sheet can see or track real-time updates. 4. Familiar. Basic features are somehow similar to excel and google sheets. 5. Transparent but with control. The access type of each user can be customized (viewer, commenter, editor) depending on the level of confidentiality. It reduces security risks. 6. Time efficient. The dashboard helps summarize and share important details of reports without spending much time. Reports can be narrowed down depending on what you need to see.

There are a lot of good features in Smartsheet, but you have to invest time in learning those features to maximize their function. It took time before I created a powerful monitoring.

Smartsheet is very powerful and reliable. It's like having another person work together with you. I am more productive when using Smartsheet. My reports are done in no time.

can be quite complex to implement and the licensing is a factor that is sometimes challenging for a big group to use. We still use Excel for shared projects for all to edit and review.

I personal love the overall integrations that can be setup through Smartsheet. All parts of a project form start to finish with multiple people can be on one sheet with notifications sent any time anything happens.

How little there is available to find how-tos and other guides on things I am hoping to accomplish in my sheet. While there is a great online community, sometimes I just want to Google search or YouTube search my solution, and this is something that Excel has in abundance. Other least favorite thing is the lack of adaptability for hours and minutes in equations.

We are running our entire travel process through Smartsheet. From the traveler finding their booking to the approvals necessary and even to the close-out process. Smartsheet is has the entire travel for our organization down to many lengthy equations and, several automation, and a few workflows

The most helpful thing about Smartsheets is the ability to collaborate and the email notifications anytime changes are made. I haven't tried any competitor software, because I am happy with Smartsheets.

When working in calendar view it would be helpful to be able to create events and have the option to auto-populate every X number of days rather than having to create the event every X days.

I believe that incorporating more of Microsoft Excel's functions and features into Smartsheets would greatly enhance its usability. My ultimate goal is to transition away from using Microsoft Excel altogether and rely solely on Smartsheets for storing and managing data in the cloud.

SmartSheet helps my team effectively collaborate with our customers and delivery partners by providing an easy-to-use, intuitive platform. Standard features include the pivot from card to grid view, collapsible records, workflow automation when rows are changed or new rows are added, quick setup of conditional formatting, and intuitive submission forms. My team would not be nearly as efficient without this great tool!

There is very little not to like about SmartSheet. We've been leveraging the system for three years, and each time we run into a challenge or feature request, a bit of investigation typically yields a viable solution.

We started leveraging SmartSheet for project plans. As we've created templates for project plans, we've found other ways to leverage the system for issue collection in User Acceptance Testing, enhancement requests, and build component phasing. The submission form process was a game changer as it allowed us to create a dynamic URL that can be embedded into our software and accessible by those without a license to the tool. Most recently, I've begun leveraging SmartSheet for a detailed to-do list to keep me organized in my objectives for the year.

Extremely easy to fill in data to create workflows from. I especially like how easy it is to make a gnatt chart from the data I've provided. Assigning my team members to specific tasks and tracking their progress is easily done as well.

After adding a lot of information, tasks, users, the gnatt chart begins slowing down quite a bit. A better optimized viewer for the gnatt chart may be able to help with this issue.

With the team growing in size, it is extremely beneficial to have one central overview that all users can access. I am able to track progress on certain tasks and take preemptive action on ones that are delayed.

The ways you can share and collaborate on sheets in real-time is a necessary and helpful tool in project planning.

The only issue I ever have with smartsheet is when their is site maintenance and I can't load something.

Smartsheet provides collaboration and reporting on a level that I could not have achieved with other products. The automation to ping people when I need them to check on things has been invaluable!

The predecessor tool, Gantt and calendar view. I also like how you can share a live link of the timeline or export a PDF. I've never used a similar tool. I have used office timeline but that's more for a high level view.

It's not client-facing. We mostly use it internally. It would be great if we could export the timeline in a client friendly format. I'd like to not have to constantly hit the save button. It would be nice if smart sheet would operate as a live doc with an undo button.

Smartsheet helps me build timelines in minutes with the predecessor feature. It's so easy to access and open. Yes, I'm more productive with Smartsheets. Yes, our business performance has increased. We are able to create timelines and update them quickly. We can also set reminders for certain milestones. As a project manager, I can't imagine not using Smartsheets.

The best part about smartsheet is the online sharing capabilities as well as the forms feature. We are a construction company that utilizes it for a million different things. Deliveries, daily reports, schedules, manpower tracking and safety audits are just a few that pop into my mind.

The only dislike is the summation portion that is lacking in smartsheet. I still find certain situations where excel is the better tool. When doing larger calculations that I want the results to appear on the same page rather than having a separate report and flipping back and forth

The input from the field personnel to the office input is the biggest aspect in our company that smartsheet helps with. Daily deliveries, tickets, reports are just flawlessly uploaded using forms from our field team and then can be analyzed/referenced by our management team that isnt in the field.

I love how we can break down information about our client such as the pages we've done for them so far, credentials for profiles, etc. It keeps us very organized.

I don't really dislike anything about the program.

It's helping us keep everything in order for all of our clients. We can add/change information and it can be shared with the other team members. It's also easy to use!

Reporting functionality always has room for improvement- although SmartSheets is superior to most.

I like the access to templates and the extensive number of tips that are included to help you get to grips with the platform. I also like the ability to share with colleagues and to separate into workspaces.

The downsides are that it doesn't integrate with PowerBI (I don't think?) as that is our business' preferred method of analysing and representing data patterns. However, I haven't yet taken much time to delve into the reporting and dashboard capabilities within Smartsheet itself

It allows me to easily manage my projects and to assign tasks within those to individuals. It is also incredibly helpful to have choices available to me with regards to the view - having an easy gantt chart view is so valuable.

I wish we could have several sheets in 1 file (a bit like how we can do it in Excel and GoogleSpreadsheets)

We can find all information in one place, also people can edit simultaneously. I also like that we can use Forms to add new entries.

Smartsheet is a great way of documenting communication between my coworkers and myself on projects. It is much easier than emails, since it allows for revisions, editing to comments, and using the cells to create customized labels for the status of projects.

I do not have dislikes about Smartsheet. I am just a basic user and I like the current functions of the website, so I do not develop the sheets and just use sheets provided to me.

I wish that the home screen (that it automatically opens to each time I open the site) was able to pin or star items to the top rather than just suggest the most recent sheet I had opened.

Smartsheet is an excellent project management tool. I love the ease of creating a project outline, assigning responsible parties, and due dates with reminders and forms that allow others to contribute, keeping content in one safe place.

Integration with other analytics platforms is limited. I love that it sorts and pulls data, but sometimes this requires a manual pull of information from smartsheet and manual data analysis.

Smarsheet gives a shared space for project management across multiple teams. I can build a project from start to finish, identify who else needs ownership within the project, and grant access to others who need to stay updated on the project status.

I love that Smartsheet can self-organize based on the criteria I give it. I find it very helpful to break down projects and nest smaller tasks under the more prominent titles.

There is honestly not a lot that I don't like about Smartsheet. However, if there was one thing that needed to be improved, it would be the ability to use more types of fonts and customize the sheets a little more.

I don't like that every nonpaid use can't even insert a column or do some minimal changes, but I get it.

It solves our Multiple Project scheduling problems. Utilizing all of the features, such as the views and dashboards has allowed us to view our multiple team projects better since not all projects require the same information.

Certain Excel features are not as visible or take time to use, can sometimes require a lot of searching to identify a particular solution or function to solve a problem.

Smartsheet helps us organize guest registrations and distribute daily lists of guests to admin teams and security staff. Automating some of these features saves our team time and may allow us to transition to a paperless system in the near future
