Basecamp has evolved as a project management platform since its launch in 2004 but its mission to help remote teams stay organized, productive, and efficient remains. One new feature that Basecamp recently added is called Basecamp Hill – a visual representation that divides the component of a project into a phase of uncertainty, unknowns, and problem-solving (uphill) and a phase of certainty, confidence, and execution (downhill). This is on top of Basecamp’s core features which include a Message Board, To-dos, Calendar, Documents and Files, Group Chat, and Automated Check-ins. It’s a top-down and bottom-up platform for everyone in a business or organization – from proprietors and C-level executives to project managers and individual team members.

We love collaborating with our clients by using Basecamp. We've been using it for more than 10 years and it has been such an asset to our small business.
I can't think of anything that I dislike about Basecamp.
We no longer have our client files and correspondence in multiple places. Everything is in one place and easy to access.
Well, I have used Basecamp for the past year, and it's all praises. It is an excellent little tool that has the potential to be the greatest: - Internal communication - To-Dos - Message boards - for things which are essential and you would not like to miss - Projects - create as per your usage - Place to keep Internal documentation and Guidelines - Applications - on Web, Desktop and Mobile as well
There are a couple of things that don't matter much but still are a hassle when using BaseCamp: - Only shows recent pings - Kinda hard to search existing channels - Cannot bookmark or keep some channels, used most frequently on the front while keeping everything else behind - I miss read-receipts - App on my desktop has to be closed through the task manager sometimes
- We use it for our internal communication, so it is our heart; as we work remotely, we use BaseCamp for everything internal and have kept the Email as a channel for only official things - Keeps our Emails uncluttered as we send less number - We use it to connect with our team members and also to cook great things on the inside
Super easy to use, and never has any issues or bugs
I don't like the newer interface much, but that's personal preference I realize
Project collaboration and management
I love how user-friendly it is. The message board,to-dos, campfire, etc. All the features it has had made my productivity a lot more sufficient since using it. I highly recommend any business goer try it out.
There isn't anything I dislike about Basecamp. I think it is heading in the right direction, and I believe as the years go by it will become even better than it is today.
It allows me to have all tasks and projects that need to be finished in one place and organized. I am definitely more productive because of Basecamp and I will continue using it.
Basecamp is easy to use, and NEVER has a bug, ever
Nothing. I've used it for so many years with no issue.
Project management, organization
BaseCamp is the perfect solution for my project management needs. I can easily work with colleagues and agencies, seamlessly. It's easy to focus, create and manage projects, update the status of a project and set clear expectations for delivery. This is, by far, the best and most affordable project management software out there. Their desktop app works great and doesn't bog down my system.
The only change I would like to see is being able to open multiple projects at once. Sometimes I need to reference information in another project and have to open a browser window in addition to my desktop app.
It allows me to easily collaborate with employees and agencies in one place with a clear timeline for completing projects and upcoming projects.
Checking off tasks. It's so satisfying. I also love being able to tag others for communication. To-do lists and buckets are helpful, especially when allowing added to-dos after the fact. Basecamp keeps the company I work for so streamlined because everything is automated and you can see where everyone is at in their workflow.
Honestly can't think of anything. Maybe include in information tab that helps explain or define what exactly buckets / to-dos / etc. are without having to take a tutorial or look up a help article.
How to prioritize tasks, how to manage my time, the ability to look into the future to plan ahead, increases productivity, allows for more transparency and less wasted time when communicating the status of a project. This is all especially helpful for a remote job at a remote company.
Simple and user-friendly Tool. So easy to organize/manage ~
None at the moment. I like all the features and how it is easy to manage.
Project Management. When there's a lot of project, it's helps. meto properly track each and every projects.
The to-do / assignment feature is great at helping see what's on your plate.
It's hard to see an easy unified view of all your to-do's within the interface.
Our creative department has benefitted from this tremendously. They've been able to streamline the communication for creative projects.
I like that you are able to track projects in one place if multiple colleagues are working on them together.
The downside is that it can be difficult to organize projects as you would like to be organized.
I am able to be held accountable and hold other accountable for group projects.
I love the ability to have everything about any one of my projects all in one place and the ability to collaborate with all stakeholders involved.
When I search in Adminland, I am not able to filter through the projects in a way, but I have to scroll through all of them till I find the one I looking for.
Basecamp solves my organization's ability to collaborate with partners outside of our organization. This makes us more productive and has increased our organization's performance by maximizing our ability to fulfill the needs of our stakeholders.
Basecamp is a great way to get all the members of your team on the same page when it comes to workflow and project status. It's far better than email for maintaining timely communications.
The interface could use some work so that project status and components are more visible or accessible on the dashboard.
Having a small 2-person communication staff dealing with dozens of concurrent projects necessitated a more decentralized comms function where internal 'clients' have a stake in managing and contributing to the project workflow by being able to share docs, tasks, ideas in one place (rather than in multiple email threads).
Basecamp simplifies communication with our clients and makes it super easy to track and manage projects.
A minor gripe but it would be useful to be able to customise the homepage more.
Basecamp solves the problem of multiple people working together on the same project at the same time. It makes us more productive and allows us to easily see all past and present communication.
The schedule, todo list and campfire chat are the most used features in my small team.
I can't really think of anything that is least helpful or that I dislike.
The main issue I have is managing tasks to be done and deadlines and Basecamp is great for both of these things in both business and home life. It's been invaluable to keep track of a number of large, lengthy projects over the last few years.
The ability to create multiple teams for separate functions and projects. It provides a higher level of organization than email, etc.
It would be helpful if you could view full documents without having to download each time.
It keeps our committee communication organized and separate from emails for easier tracking and reference.
Collaboration is a breeze with a group. It is easy to keep track of threads on topics. The assignable to-do list w/ built-in reminders are amazingly useful. As well as programmable regular reminders for those traditional things you ask for, like agenda items
Nothing really. It takes a good user/regular activity from at least one person to keep everyone active and engaged in learning the platform. After a while it becomes second nature for the group
Organizes what can be a messy process especially when working on a large scale effort or project that has multiple pieces and efforts
We've tried them all and Basecamp is the easiest to use, and the easiest to share. Our clients love it. We don't have to train anyone how to use it. And we get more work done. If your team can use email, they can use Basecamp. It really is that easy. Ever client we being in is pleasantly surprised.
500 GB of storage should be increased to 1 TB Lacks voice and video call function (we prefer to not use video so it works for us, but an option call a team memeber from within Basecamp would be great).
Basecamp makes remote work easy. We needed a clean and simple to use task list. We needed a clean discussion board, and we needed a way to organize our documents in a digital space that allowed us to comment and collaborate on each file.
Basecamp's strength is how easy it is to use. Accessible to people new to project management and features for more advanced users. It allows our team to communicate very well.
I would love built-in gantt charts and am unsure how to use the new "card table" feature alongside tasks. It would be great to have the ability to drag tasks to kanban style decks.
Basecamp is helping to keep my students engaged and on track with their projects. We've also managed to stay very connected across several sites. It has helped us be more productive and feel more connected to each other.
Basecamp has helped my team stay organized across several projects concurrently.
I have not found any real downsides to using Basecamp.
Basecamp has kept all project-related communication in one place.
Basecamp simply always works. I've been using it for over 10 years and have never run into a bug. It's amazing.
There's is nothing I dislike about Basecamp. It is as close to perfect as a platform can be.
Basecamp is our project manageemtn platform. I prefer Basecamp Classic.
