iSpring Suite is a PowerPoint add-in, and that is the whole proposition. Corporate trainers already know PowerPoint; iSpring turns that existing skill into interactive e-learning with quizzes, branching scenarios, and SCORM output, without anyone learning a new authoring tool. It costs €970 per author per year — roughly €81 a month — which is enterprise pricing, and the decision is whether skipping the learning curve is worth it.
- What it is: Course authoring software that builds e-learning inside PowerPoint, plus a newer cloud-native alternative.
- Best for: Corporate L&D teams whose subject-matter experts already work in PowerPoint.
- Pricing: Cloud AI €720, Suite €970, Suite AI €1,290 per author per year. 5% off online. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Pricing is per author per year with no monthly option, so a three-person team commits roughly €2,910 up front.
What Is iSpring Suite?
iSpring Suite installs into PowerPoint as a ribbon tab. You build a deck the way you always have, then use iSpring to add quizzes, interactions, branching dialogue simulations, screen recordings, and narration, and publish the result as SCORM, xAPI, or HTML5 for a learning management system.
That design decision is the entire product strategy, and it solves a real organisational problem. In most companies the person who knows the subject is not a learning designer — they are a compliance officer, an engineer, or a sales manager who already has slides. Tools like Articulate Storyline are more powerful and require genuine authoring skill; iSpring meets subject-matter experts where they already are.
The 2026 lineup adds iSpring Cloud AI, a browser-based authoring tool that does not require PowerPoint at all — and, notably, costs less than the desktop product.
How iSpring Works
- A PowerPoint add-in. Authoring happens in PowerPoint; iSpring adds the interactive layer.
- Works offline. The desktop Suite needs no internet access, which matters in regulated or air-gapped environments.
- Quizzes and simulations. 14 question types plus branching dialogue scenarios for soft-skills training.
- Standards output. SCORM, xAPI, and HTML5 for any compliant LMS.
- Per author, per year. Licensing counts people who build courses, not people who take them.
- Cloud AI as an alternative. Browser-based, AI-assisted, no PowerPoint dependency.
iSpring Suite Pricing
Captured from iSpring’s pricing page in July 2026 in euros on the Business tab; iSpring localizes currency and also offers Individual pricing.
| Product | Per author/year | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| iSpring Cloud AI | €720 | Cloud-native authoring, AI-powered, no PowerPoint |
| iSpring Suite | €970 | PowerPoint add-in, works entirely offline |
| iSpring Suite AI | €1,290 | Both, team-ready |
What actually decides your choice:
- The cheapest option is the newest one. iSpring Cloud AI at €720 undercuts the desktop Suite at €970. That is unusual — normally the legacy product is the budget option — and it tells you where iSpring expects the market to go. If you do not need offline authoring or PowerPoint compatibility, the cloud tool is both cheaper and more modern.
- You are choosing an authoring environment, not a feature tier. Suite and Cloud AI are different products rather than good-better-best. Pick by where your authors want to work.
- Per-author licensing is the right model here. You pay for people who build courses, not people who take them, so a company training 500 staff with two authors pays for two.
- Annual only, and it adds up. €970 per author is roughly €81 a month, but there is no monthly option — a three-author team commits about €2,910 up front. Budget accordingly.
- The 5% online discount is free money. Buying through the website rather than sales knocks the Suite to about €921.
- Educator and nonprofit pricing exists but is quoted. Worth asking for if you qualify, since it is not published.
Who Should Use iSpring Suite
- Corporate L&D teams. The clearest case, particularly where subject-matter experts author their own material.
- Organizations already invested in PowerPoint. The learning curve is close to zero for anyone who can build a deck.
- Regulated or offline environments. The desktop Suite requires no internet, which cloud tools cannot offer.
- Compliance training at scale. SCORM and xAPI output works with any standards-compliant LMS.
It fits poorly for teams needing highly custom interactions, where Articulate Storyline goes considerably further; for documenting internal processes, where Trainual is purpose-built and cheaper; and for selling courses publicly, where Thinkific handles commerce that iSpring does not attempt.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Almost no learning curve. Anyone who can use PowerPoint can author with it.
- Genuinely capable interactions. 14 quiz types and branching dialogue simulations.
- Full standards support. SCORM, xAPI, and HTML5 for any LMS.
- Works offline. A real advantage in regulated and secure environments.
- Per-author licensing. You are not charged for learners.
- A cheaper cloud path. Cloud AI at €720 for teams that do not need the desktop.
Limitations
- Expensive per seat. €970 per author per year, and €1,290 for the combined product.
- Annual commitment only. No monthly option, so the outlay is upfront.
- Ceiling below Storyline. Complex custom interactions are better served elsewhere.
- PowerPoint dependency on the desktop product, for better and worse.
- No LMS included. iSpring Learn is a separate purchase.
- Discounts are quote-only. Educator and nonprofit rates are not published.
iSpring Suite Alternatives and How It Compares
- iSpring Learn is the company’s own LMS, and the natural pairing rather than a competitor — Suite authors, Learn delivers.
- Trainual documents processes and onboarding rather than building formal courses, at lower cost.
- Thinkific Plus targets selling courses to customers, with commerce built in.
- Adobe Learning Manager is the enterprise LMS option for large compliance programmes.
- Upskillist provides ready-made courses rather than tools to build your own.
- Articulate Storyline is the main direct competitor on authoring power, with a steeper learning curve and higher price.

The Verdict
iSpring Suite solves an organisational problem more than a technical one. The hard part of corporate e-learning is rarely the software — it is that the person who knows the subject is not a course designer and has no appetite to become one. By living inside PowerPoint, iSpring lets a compliance officer or an engineer turn slides they have already made into a tracked, interactive course without learning a new tool. For an L&D team trying to get subject-matter experts to produce material themselves, that is worth real money.
At €970 per author per year it asks for real money too. The right way to judge it is per author rather than per organisation: because licensing counts builders rather than learners, a company training hundreds of staff with two or three authors is paying €1,940 to €2,910 a year in total, which is modest against the alternative of outsourcing course production. A company where twenty people each want to build occasionally will find it expensive, and should concentrate authoring in fewer hands.
The most interesting thing on the pricing page is that iSpring Cloud AI costs less than the desktop Suite — €720 against €970. That inverts the usual pattern, where the newer cloud product commands a premium, and it is a fair signal about where iSpring expects authoring to happen. If you need offline authoring, PowerPoint compatibility, or work in a secure environment, the desktop Suite remains the right choice and the extra €250 is justified. If none of those apply, start with Cloud AI: it is cheaper, more modern, and the 14-day trial costs nothing to find out.
FAQ
How much does iSpring Suite cost?
Captured in euros in July 2026 on the Business tab: iSpring Cloud AI is €720 per author per year, iSpring Suite €970, and iSpring Suite AI — which combines both — €1,290. Buying online rather than through sales gives 5% off. Licensing is annual with no monthly option, and iSpring localizes currency by region. Educator and nonprofit discounts are available by quote.
Does iSpring Suite require PowerPoint?
The desktop Suite does — it installs as a PowerPoint add-in and authoring happens inside PowerPoint. That is deliberate, since it removes the learning curve for anyone already comfortable building slides. iSpring Cloud AI is the alternative for teams that do not want a PowerPoint dependency: it authors in the browser, and at €720 per author per year it costs less than the desktop product.
Is iSpring licensed per author or per learner?
Per author, meaning you pay only for the people who build courses. Learners who take the courses are not licensed through Suite. That makes it economical for organizations training large numbers of staff from a small authoring team — a company with two authors and 500 learners pays for two. Delivering and tracking those courses requires an LMS such as iSpring Learn, sold separately.
Why does the cloud version cost less than the desktop version?
iSpring has priced iSpring Cloud AI at €720 against the desktop Suite’s €970, which is the reverse of the usual pattern. The desktop product’s premium reflects offline authoring and PowerPoint integration — genuinely valuable in regulated or secure environments where cloud tools are not permitted. If you need neither, the cloud product is both cheaper and the more actively developed direction.
What is iSpring Suite best for?
Corporate learning and development teams that want subject-matter experts to author their own training without learning specialist software, particularly for compliance and onboarding delivered through an LMS. Its offline capability suits regulated environments. It is a weaker fit for highly custom interactive design, where Articulate Storyline goes further, and for documenting internal processes, where Trainual is cheaper and purpose-built.
Integration with power point and edit video options
Lack of templates even with licenses and is not intuitive at all, I need to watch so many videos for each action I want to apply.
Organizational trainings with good visualization on phones
I love that it's built right into PowerPoint. I like to use branded content anyway and this gives me a head start.
Saving files and then locating them again for editing is confusing. I save them on a drive but then iSpring can't locate them again. This can be frustrating.
I'm not sure what iSpring is currently working on so I can't say for sure what will benefit me. But I do notice that they are constantly making updates to improve the product.
Both the interfaces, the iSpring LMS and the authoring tool are pretty easy to use. The platform provides value for money. Customer support is quick to respond and is usually able to help out with any issues.
The tool though is quite basic as compared to some of the other tools existing in the market, at present.
We needed a basic LMS which iSpring caters too
iSpring is very easy to use, its based on PowerPoint making it super fast and easy when it comes to developed content as it doesnt demand extra elearning knowledge from the developer.
The course menu design/implementation has a few limitations, for example, it takes the name of the slide for the menu, and when you have several slides on the same subject, you have to hide those slides to avoid repetition and manually create the navigation branching. Not difficult to do but takes quite some time. Im sure it will be updated in future versions.
Faster to develop than our previous software, our previous software gave us issue with the scorm tracking on large courses, iSpring can handle a large number of slides without issues.
We like being able to create within Power Point. It works great to send trainings out to our agents and allow them to access easily.
It is constraining. It can be fickle at times. Log-in's can stop working correctly. I wish I had more specific details on these issues.
Quick and easy creation so anyone can learn to use it. We can efficiently manage agents being sent the modules and seeing whether they are completed.
It's very easy to use and they have wonderful customer service.
Limited options adding accessibility options.
I am creating training for various federal, state, and regional actors involved with standardized testing.
This is probably the only tool that can convert PPT to a purely HTML5 presentation without any supporting flash files. Since Flash is going away soon and many LMS platforms don't accept Flash files, this is very important for user accessibility.
Screen capturing tool is subpar. We were planning to replace the screen capturing tool we are currently using with the iSpring one, but found the latter misses 90% functionality of the former.
We use iSpring to create HTML5 based learning presentations for our online students. We mostly work with ppts and voiceovers that have to be converted into mobile friendly lectures with audio, notes, exercises, etc.
The interactions and quizzes, which stimulate the audience
the necessity of a maintenance plan should not be there
the ability to create interactive trainings and upload them to a file compatible with our LMS system
The service support was very thorough (Michael the Technical Support Engineer)
Service scope in terms of collaboration with other software
We can convert files to SCORM format to import to Saba.
The HTML5 output is impeccable, and the tool taps in to all of PowerPoint's features (two things that Articulate Presenter/Studio currently lacks). Also you will find their support team to be incredible. They are responsive to inquiries immediately, and I have found them to go above and beyond to assist in a variety of different requests, of varying degrees of difficulty. If you are looking to quickly author e-learning with a PPT-based tool, look no further. Only competitor is Articulate, and today, iSpring is better in just about every category.
The only drawback (again comparing to Articulate) is they don't have as many built in "interactions", however, we work around this by using powerpoint to create our own, which often are more robust an interesting than a built-in interaction could be.
By far HTML5 issues have been huge, and iSpring solved this for us. We have 700 PPT-based eLearning presentations, and iSpring was the easiest way to convert these to clean HTML5. If you are an Articulate user, you know you cannot publish to HTML5 only, just a "backup" for mobile, and you may have found out the hard way that if you use quizzes or interactions ("action items") the HTML5 output from Articulate will not work. iSpring works in all browsers (you can also include a Flash backup if you want), with tons of publishing options. This has been incredibly valuable for our stakeholders and clients, and has saved deals worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Simple to get started. Good online help and tutorials. Really helpful staff on hand to help via chat. No need for mega powerpoint skills. Just dive in.
Sometimes the product isnt quite as flexible as I would ideally like however once you understand the (minor) constraints that you need to work within you can happily design and deploy effective e-learning.
Creating e-learning to educate a workforce and ensure its compliance with the relevant industry-specific rules and regulations.
Great tool for simple deployments in SCORM or EXE files
Not as robust as many other authoring software programs.
Provides an economical and simple method for deploying training assets throughout the company.
It's integration with MS Powerpoint is a powerful tool for efficiency. It allows for quick sharing of comments and suggestions on design as anyone can view the material as if it's a powerpoint presentation
Having experienced Adobe Captivate, the efficiency can sometimes come at the cost of freedom of expression in transitions, animations, etc. Interactions can be too templated which may not fully grasp the needs of the module
One of our current challenges are the needed turnaround time to accomplish the technical trainings of our client. Since iSpring is connected with powerpoint, the medium of the clients presentations, it allows us to faster accomplish the required documents and deliverables.
I like the ability to create screen recordings as well as the variety of quiz questions when creating an assessment.
The capabilities are very limited. It's difficult to make the course look like more than just a Powerpoint.
ISpring allows us to create online content that we can upload as a SCORM file to our LMS. It allows us the ability to add quizzes and simulations to our online training.
Easy installation of the trial version. The first conversion of a powerpoint presentation with voices comments to an HTML files set included within my Web site was successfull
My experience is too short to answer this question. Up to now no problems
Quickly offer web users the possibility to read an existing existing Powerpoint presentation without havingto download it .
Very fast support for some induviduel problems we had.
Typografie is to static and limited in styling.
Our eLearning teacher can build scorms easily
Its incredibly easy to build a platform that can be used by your company.
All the courses I built with the provided iSpring template are experiencing a loading error and now I am being asked to rebuild the courses because they do not have a workable solution.
Its supposed to be streamlining my training process - but has been inoperable with no current solution
The system is decent for providing basic course and quiz making needs for online learning.
It's not always the most user friendly and can take time to figure out. The customer service also seemed slow to respond when there were concerns or questions about the product.
It helped us design a good number of my organization's online learning and quizzes.
I like the ease of creating courses -and the options that are available from screen capture to video, quizzes etc.
I don't like the issues we've had with publishing and how sometimes the voice doesn't line up with the slides and we've had a lot of publishing issues.
It has been good for training new sales reps. We continue to build content and have high hopes for the use for training of new hires.
User-friendly product. It is a PowerPoint add-in so easy to use all the functionalities. The recent TTS feature is good. It high time iSpring need to develop a standalone tool like Storyline.
I have been using this product since its first launch, it used to be good in after sales support. But recently if you want to reach out to their support, no one replies in time. And finally you end up switching to other product. Worst experience with iSpring sales@ispring.com and support@ispring.com.
easy elearning creation using simple tool helps in rapid elearning authoring.
The software is powerful enough to do what we need to do (albeit with some compromises from time to time). It integrates with PowerPoint very well. Also, support is very quick to respond and thorough (I only know this from needing to contact them so often!)
Available options for quizzes are limited, the software isn't designed to handle some "fringe" cases (e.g., I need to set exported images from PowerPoint at 300 dpi resolution for certain tasks for work, but this causes inappropriate sizing when publishing units using iSpring), the menu for some customization can be counter-intuitive or opaque (e.g., there are two locations for editing text items and buttons in iSpring that I know of, and some situations overlap)
Creating e-learning software for clients, creating in-house training material
I like the quiz features and interactivity, as well as the assurance that my copyrighted content can't be copied and downloaded. Support is always very quick to respond and help with issues.
In my experience with my team, iSpring is complicated to use. It's also very slow and often messes up the formatting of the slides we have created post conversion. We've had many issues with our slides not looking the same after converting to iSpring, and it's wasted a lot of time determining how to change on our end so iSpring conversion won't mess up the intended look of the slides.
It allows us to upload our slides in a way that ensures others using our product can't download or copy the materials we have created. It also allows us to create interactive slides.
There isn't anything that I particularly like.
That it does not work on Apple machines, I don't want to be using windows, and windows often comes with permformance issues.
Besides educational resourse. There are no real problems I am solving uniquely compared to other similar service offerings
The software is pretty user-friendly, particularly if you have no experience with creating html5 presentation. You can easily do a presentation. If you like to do something more prefessional, to work with audacity to record your voice and Adobe Premier to create videos, then you will better served with Storyline, which will allow you to do way more than Ispring.
I have been using the software for years and have worked with at least 3 different versions of the software on several computers. The conclusion is always the same, the software is crashing pretty often. Sometimes, it makes Powerpoint crashing with it, something even the computer. I have already lost sounds recorded with crashing, quizzes, videos and sometimes even parts of presentations. I have wasted too much trying to recover files, interacting with Ispring staff... and the end, I just decided to go with another software.
This type of software is useful to create autonomous online training for professional. As I said before, while Ispring is crashing too often, I started to work with another software which finally help to gain time.
