"The free version doesn't offer more than Google Analytics"
What do you like best about MonsterInsights?

I like the quick reference dashboard which could be useful for a client who wants that data and regularly logs in to their wordpress website.

What do you dislike about MonsterInsights?

The free version of MonsterInsights is nothing more than a well designed dashboard that gives you basic analytic info about your site visitors. That's fine, but not really worth adding another plugin and its just a way to get their foot in the door to upsell their products.

What problems is MonsterInsights solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its useful for a client who regularly logs in to their site, wants basic site usage data, and is intimidated by Google Analytics.

What do you like best about MonsterInsights?

It provided very high level insights into the website but it's what you can easily see in Google Analytics

What do you dislike about MonsterInsights?

It's not user-friendly. The analytics was quite basic and you can see more in Google Analytics. The market certainly over promises so it wasn't what we needed at all.

What problems is MonsterInsights solving and how is that benefiting you?

MonsterInsights was supposed to provide us with insights into visitors for our website and what they were interacting with / downloading. However, the information is very basic and you're better off using Google Analytics. I stopped using it but they didn't refund for our remaining 10-11 months so make sure you look into this properly before signing up.
