so far nothing. so far nothing. so far nothing
it helps with a broader market insight into certain matters
Similarweb provides current numbers/stats for websites, helping PR teams vet if an opportunity is worth it.
Outside of insight on visitors, there isn't much information for PR teams to use to add their outreach/campaigns.
Provides more up to date numbers than other platforms.
I like seeing traffic, volume, and month over month change. It'ls also helpful to see by industry what are top search terms.
However, 1) I wish the default would be the US instead of Canada, 2) I wish I could see day by day change to know if a term spikes on a certain day of the week.
Helping me see from a consumer journey lens what consumers are searching for when they're thinking of certain industries.
The modules are easy to set up. The interface is easy to get around and there is little barrier to quickly set up a simple dashboard for high level overview monitoring.
The dashboards cannot be shared with their full interactive functionality to other people without them having a seat on my account. I want to be able to let others see the full data and data points (not necessarily make changes)
Viewing site traffic without a full Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics setup. I can view quick high level data right away without having to do a whole complex set up first.
You can get a bit idea about how great a website is. Also, you can decide your potential competitors with it.
Most of the data is overrated. Where the actual monthly traffic will be 15K, this platform shows more than 1 lakh per month. So you actually can't rely every time on this. Also, their support system is very poor and the guys are full of attitude. The way they greet the customers is pathetic. The worst part is you have to wait for 2 months to get your things done.
Competitor Research
When Similar Web was working, the extension could give you a good idea on a website's web traffic. Both US only and international. It gave so much useful data to help me decide if a company is worth reaching out to.
The extension does not work and when you plug in a url on the website, it gives 2 points of data, nothing compared to what it did before.
After seeing the web traffic, it helps me estimate how many orders they are getting a month. This allows me to decide if they are in our wheel-house and worth reaching out to.
Easy to use for basic uses , then it get
Complicated, misleading, Over Priced Tool
Problems: Competitors analysis. Benefits: nth that the other alomst free solutions
Live chat doesn't work and neither do their emails.
Cost is prohibitive and there's a complete lack of customer service
no benefits - I've gone to spyfu instead
I'm not sure. Because I'm not even sure the data is very accurate.
I have attempted to contact support multiple times to try and get a fair trial to see data. It's been nothing but crickets for about four days. They are very keen on setting up a 1 to 1 chat with you on an automated calendar but not letting you try the software even after taking your credit card for absurdly high subscription fees.
Market insights
Easy User Interface and supposedly promised good features, that in reality wasn't refelcted in terms of data availability or accuracy.
Once subscribed, most of the regions we subscribed to had no data or the data we got was laughed at by clients as the discrepancies were unrealistically high. Such a high price and still couldn't get the job done that I was using the free version of other solutions that were even moore helpful. Waited for weeks for a solution or response from the account management and got no response nor our problem was solved.
We were trying to understand potential clients' traffic and competitive landscape.
The free extension and our CSM is definitely trying to make us happy.
This is not a technology, but a service. You enter domains in a spreadsheet that can do look-ups. You cannot easily do a list build and the way they do look-ups eats into your API calls, which are limited every month. My CSM is definitely trying to be helpful, but the technology is just not there. If you are in the US, they are based in Israel, so you will usually get a response the following day. So far, I am disappointed that I moved from free to premium.
