Great insight into potential leads. Easy to use.

Steep pricing. I would have liked to start with under 5,000 credits.

It's a great way to find potential leads for my marketing agency.

The Technology lookup. I had a list of websites, and was running a study on how many of those sites used popular ecommerce tools. Wappalyzer sped up the research process like nobody's business.

I just wish it was a little cheaper. The pricing seems a little expensive, but then again, I paid for it... so I deemed it worth it. Other than that, it's the best tool I could find for what I needed.

Wappalyzer gave me access to data, and this allows me to publish studies that drive backlinks and site traffic to my website.

Nothing really: would love an export-to-PDF, to improve the service. But works anyway with CSVs.

The filters that are available for creating lists, and an understanding of what the results will look like. This helps me determine if I have the correct criteria in place and I'm going to get the expected results that I'm looking for.

I wouldn't say this is a downside, but having to pay credits for a small amount of data/and small sample from the list is a lot. This is great competitive research and I would use it a lot more often if the price point wasn't so high. I think that Wappalyzer has a feature now that you can pay by credit so that it on a more need basis rather than signing up for an entire plan. I think that makes a lot more sense because I like to use this feature - but I definitely don't have a need for it all the time, its really just when I'm doing research.

They take the time out of competitor research that is often asked for by clients. I could go to each competitor's site and fill in the appropriate information that I am looking for manually and it could take me hours, or depending on how much data I need for the research I'm conducting it could take a few days. This takes that time out of the process and allows me to get a very usable and clean list that I can edit, optimize and gather insights from very quickly. You can't really put a price on the amount of time this can save.

We can request a domains technology adhoc via their API, and if they have not crawled this domain yet, we can then utilize a callback URL to receive the data at a later time.

We had an issue where IP addresses were not coming back with data, because of a validation check on their backend. This was however quickly resolved by the support team. All good!
