Campaign Monitor’s Premier plan costs €142.20 a month for up to 500 contacts and €151.20 for up to 2,500 — nine euros more for five times the list. That is because Premier has an effective floor price that has almost nothing to do with list size at the bottom of the range. At 500 contacts it costs 5.4 times Essentials; at 50,000 contacts, only 1.7 times. The tier is built for large senders, and small ones pay a minimum rather than a rate.
- What it is: Email marketing — templates, automation, segmentation and transactional email.
- Best for: Established senders on Essentials; Premier only makes sense at scale.
- Pricing: From €10.80 a month, by contact count. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Lite caps sends at 5× your subscriber count each month.

- Lite meters your sends.
- Essentials is unlimited.

- Enterprise by quote.

What actually decides your cost:
- Premier’s price is nearly flat across the two smallest bands. €142.20 for up to 500 contacts and €151.20 for up to 2,500 — a €9.00 difference for five times the list. Everything below that in the range behaves normally: Lite rises from €10.80 to €39.60 across the same jump, and Essentials from €26.10 to €62.10. Premier alone has a floor, which tells you plainly that the tier is not designed for small lists. If you want Premier’s features on 500 contacts, you are paying a minimum, not a rate.
- The Premier premium collapses as your list grows. Against Essentials, Premier costs 5.45× at 0–500, 2.43× at 501–2,500, 1.65× at 5,001–10,000 and 1.27× at 15,001–25,000. At those larger sizes the extra buys phone support, pre-built engagement segments, send time optimisation, advanced link tracking, template management for teams and the website builder included rather than as a purchase. For a 20,000-contact sender, a 27% premium for that set is a reasonable question; for a 500-contact sender, a 445% premium is not.
- Lite meters your sending, and the multiplier is easy to miss. Lite allows “5x subscriber emails/month” — so a 500-contact list can send 2,500 emails a month, and a 10,000-contact list 50,000. That sounds generous until you count campaigns: five sends a month to your whole list exhausts it. Essentials removes the cap entirely with “unlimited email sends”, which is the single clearest reason to move up. Anyone emailing weekly will hit Lite’s ceiling.
- “With 10% annual discount” is exactly 10%. Monthly rates of €12.00, €29.00 and €158.00 become €10.80, €26.10 and €142.20 — precisely a tenth off on all three plans. It is a modest discount by industry standards, and it is stated accurately rather than inflated, which several products in this review series do not manage.
- The website builder is a purchase on Lite and Essentials, and included on Premier. Both lower tiers list an “option to purchase drag-and-drop website builder”; Premier states “drag-and-drop website builder included”. Campaign Monitor does not publish what that add-on costs on the pricing page, so anyone weighing Essentials plus the builder against Premier cannot complete the comparison without asking.
- Essentials also gates a second paid add-on layer. Its card notes an “option to purchase additional advanced feature access like non-human click filter, engagement segments, countdown timer, and time zone sending” — features that arrive included on Premier. So the real Essentials cost for a team that wants engagement segments is the plan price plus an unpublished add-on price, which again is only resolvable by asking.
- Contact bands mean you pay for headroom, not usage. The eight bands run 0–500, 501–2,500, 2,501–5,000, 5,001–10,000, 10,001–15,000, 15,001–25,000, 25,001–50,000 and 50,001+. A list of 2,600 contacts costs the same as one of 5,000, so pruning inactive subscribers below a band boundary is worth real money — particularly at the larger bands where the steps are hundreds of euros.
- A free plan exists but is only referenced obliquely. Every paid card begins “Get everything in the Free plan, plus”, yet the free plan itself has no card on the pricing page and its limits are not stated there. Given the pattern elsewhere in this series, it is worth finding those limits before assuming the free tier does what you need.

The affiliate link works despite returning 404 to automated checks. Fetching
/go/campaign-monitorfrom the command line gives 404 frompartners.campaignmonitor.com; in a browser it resolves normally. Note also that this listing is filed under Product Reviews Software, which does not describe an email marketing platform, and that category page returns a 404.
Who Should Use Campaign Monitor
- Regular senders on Essentials. The clearest case — unlimited sends from €26.10 at small list sizes.
- Larger lists wanting advanced segmentation. Premier’s premium falls to 1.27× at 15,001–25,000 contacts.
- Teams needing phone support. It starts at Premier regardless of list size.
- Businesses needing SOC2 and custom DPAs. Those are Enterprise features.
It fits poorly for small lists wanting Premier features, where the floor price dominates; for infrequent budget senders, since Lite’s 5× cap binds quickly; and for anyone needing to compare Essentials-plus-add-ons against Premier, since add-on prices are unpublished.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- “10% annual discount” is exactly 10% on every plan.
- Unlimited email sends from the Essentials tier.
- Transactional email and AI Writer included on Lite.
- Contact bands and prices are fully published.
- Website builder included on Premier.
- A free plan exists beneath the paid tiers.
Limitations
- Premier costs 5.45× Essentials at 500 contacts.
- Lite caps sends at 5× your subscriber count.
- Website builder price is unpublished on lower tiers.
- Advanced feature add-ons are also unpriced.
- The free plan has no card and no stated limits.
- Filed under Product Reviews Software, a category that 404s.
Campaign Monitor Alternatives and How It Compares
- Mailchimp is the broader incumbent with a stronger free tier.
- MailerLite competes hard on price at small list sizes.
- beehiiv targets newsletters with monetisation built in.
- Postmark handles transactional email specifically, and better.
- Constant Contact targets small businesses with heavy onboarding support.
The Verdict
Campaign Monitor’s pricing is clear about the numbers and less clear about the add-ons. The contact bands are all published, the four tiers reprice visibly as you change bands, and the “with 10% annual discount” claim is exactly 10% on every plan — €12.00, €29.00 and €158.00 becoming €10.80, €26.10 and €142.20. Modest, and honestly stated.
The tier to understand is Premier, because its price behaves differently from the others. At 0–500 contacts it costs €142.20 and at 501–2,500 it costs €151.20 — nine euros for five times the list. Lite and Essentials both roughly triple across that same jump. What that means is Premier has a floor: below a few thousand contacts you are paying a minimum for the tier rather than a price for your list. Measured against Essentials, Premier is 5.45× at 500 contacts and only 1.27× at 15,001–25,000. It is a plan for larger senders, and small ones should read that ratio before being drawn in by the feature list.
For most buyers the real decision is Lite versus Essentials, and it turns on one line. Lite allows “5x subscriber emails/month” — five sends to your full list, then you stop. Essentials removes the cap with unlimited sends. Anyone emailing weekly will exhaust Lite inside a month, so the €10.80 headline is realistically a plan for occasional senders. At €26.10 for the same 500 contacts, Essentials is where regular campaigns actually live.
The gap in the page is what the extras cost. Lite and Essentials both offer an “option to purchase” the drag-and-drop website builder, and Essentials separately offers paid access to non-human click filtering, engagement segments, countdown timers and time zone sending — all included on Premier. None of those add-on prices is published, so the natural comparison, Essentials plus the features you want against Premier outright, cannot be completed from the pricing page. Given Premier’s floor price at small list sizes, that comparison is exactly the one a small sender needs, and it requires a conversation with sales to resolve.
FAQ
How much does Campaign Monitor cost?
Pricing is set by contact count across eight bands, in euros as served to our location in July 2026. At 0–500 contacts with annual billing: Lite €10.80, Essentials €26.10, Premier €142.20 a month. At 25,001–50,000 contacts: €330.30, €536.40 and €893.70. Monthly billing costs about 11% more — at the smallest band, €12.00, €29.00 and €158.00. Enterprise is quoted.
Why is Campaign Monitor Premier so expensive on small lists?
Because it has a floor price. Premier costs €142.20 for up to 500 contacts and €151.20 for up to 2,500 — only €9 more for five times the list — whereas Lite and Essentials roughly triple across the same jump. Measured against Essentials, Premier is 5.45× at 500 contacts but only 1.27× at 15,001–25,000. The tier is priced for larger senders.
What is the difference between Campaign Monitor Lite and Essentials?
Sending limits, mainly. Lite allows “5x subscriber emails/month” — so a 500-contact list can send 2,500 emails, which is five full-list campaigns. Essentials gives unlimited email sends, plus priority support, all core features, unlimited AI and automated emails and inbox preview. Anyone emailing weekly will hit Lite’s ceiling, making Essentials the practical entry tier.
Is Campaign Monitor’s 10% annual discount accurate?
Yes, exactly. Monthly rates of €12.00, €29.00 and €158.00 become €10.80, €26.10 and €142.20 on annual billing — precisely 10% off on all three plans, with no rounding in Campaign Monitor’s favour. It is a smaller discount than many competitors advertise, but it is stated accurately.
Are there extra costs beyond Campaign Monitor’s plan price?
Potentially two. Both Lite and Essentials list an “option to purchase” the drag-and-drop website builder, which is included on Premier. Essentials separately offers paid access to advanced features including a non-human click filter, engagement segments, countdown timers and time zone sending — also included on Premier. Neither add-on price is published on the pricing page.

Most helpful features about it are: 1. Campaign Monitor is an excellent user friendly software that excels in the field of sending e-mails as well as automating the mails. 2. There are tons of templates to choose from for the design of the e-mail, which facilitates in the designing part of the e-mail. I could easily add any sort of media or files within few seconds. 4. I could add as many recipients I want, letting me significantly increase my connections and leads.
Least helpful features about it are: 1. Campaign Monitor lacks native social sharing features. To add the link of my social media, I had to go the respective social media site and add the links for the social sharing buttons. 2. There was a time when my designer and I were working at the same time on Campaign Monitor on the same e-mail, and the consequences later did not turn out to be beneficial for us.

Its ease of setting up lists of people to email followed by its ease of writing and then reviewing your email communications, followed by its ease of scheduling your campaign. With a subsequent effective reporting on your campaign outcomes in terms of reach and emails read. Plus, its quick and responsive support staff, if the extensive pre-existing help topics did not answer your queries.

It's drag n drop feature helps to save time to build templates. Easy mobile friendly templates are awesome. Wordpress is best suits for me. Easy to track & mobile friendly templates are more powerful than it's competitors.
I like campaign monitor but they should improve their customer service. Email code editor sometimes doesn't load html code properly, here it needs improvement, otherwise tool is awesome
For small business owners it's like a God, it's easy to use. Autoresponders save more money & time so it's more productive which results in the increase in performance and business.
Campaign Monitor WYSIWYG is pretty reliable and intuitive. We are able to manage and effectively automate customer campaign all with login. Its has enabled us to improve the SEO of our organization by offering built-content that potrays our brand.
Campaign Monitor has been performing to our expectations. Technical team is excellent in case of anything. We have no dislike at all.
Campaign monitor is very cost effective when sending emails. We are aslo able to design newsletters and email them directly to our subscribers.Aslo there is no much technical training for the users in order to use the application
It's a very Comprehensive email marketing tool that enables users to send personalised emails to promote effective engagement with your esteemed clients.Excellent customer service and its dashboard and analytics are very intuitive and easy to use.
Campaign monitor has been very effective. In case of any issues their customer service are more than ready to help .
Easy to integrate with other applications especially when using Salesforce. Its aslo relatively simple and cheap to send news letters using the application. When using the application we have not experienced any delays when sending emails.
The account interface and editor are super easy to use. The options are intuitive, and allow for customizing templates with ease. I appreciate the variety of templates, as well as the mobile optimization of templates. Making modifications to the template is easy, including adapting to your brand style. The available automations, such as Welcome journey, are wonderful and easy to set up. I also love the fact that the fee structure scales with you based on list size, which is not always an option with other ESPs. This is a great option for small but growing businesses who want to do opt-in email marketing the right way, but are starting out with smaller marketing budgets.
It would be nice to have access to edit the HTML directly in provided templates. You *can* do this if you upload a custom template, but even allowing for limited HTML access in the provided templates would be nice. However the WYSIWYG editor on provided templates does work well, and so far I am not seeing any HTML funkiness when making edits to styling, etc. While the fee structure does scale based on list size, it might be nice to have more feature options in the lower tiers.
We are focused on completely opt-in email marketing, with an email newsletter to provide another channel to promote blog content. The intended goal is to increase engagement with both current fans, as well as grow engagement with new audiences. The API set-up for an subscriber form had thorough documentation and the welcome journey series was easy to set up to get us started. Having a choice of mobile-responsive templates was also great to get us going.
Campaign Monitor is easy to use and accessible for every employee regardless of their skillset. The client service team responds quickly when there are issues to be resolved.
The template organization is a bit messy and not intuitive. I would also like to see more analytics options. Currently, you can track who opens your email by the browser they are using, but it's impossible to tell device stats on their own.
It's great for organizing multiple groupings of mailouts. Mass mailout function works great and there is a lot of functionality with multiple admin users. I think it's a great product for a large user base.
Easy to change settings based on your needs
Issues with my campaigns going to SPAM on occasion. This is correctable.
I don't do typical marketing emails. I need to send individual similar requests, regularly to the same people, changing some key points. I find it very helpful and time-saving with Campaign Monitor.
I use Campaign Monitor for my email marketing campaigns. Easy to use, and it makes my job much easier when it comes to sending out promotional emails. Campaign Monitor is great for email marketing. Their templates for newsletters and campaigns are well-designed and easy to customize. Even if you have no web design experience, Campaign Monitor's drag and drop feature makes it simple to change the design or create your own template. Campaign Monitor makes it easy for me to create beautiful and professional-looking emails. It has great templates and complete functionality that makes it easy for me to automate them. I also love its great deliverability and compatibility with all email clients and devices. It is effortless to use, and I can customize it according to my marketing needs.
How user-friendly it is to create an email.
Not able to exclude multiple segments when deploying an email
developed an easy way to share templates and assets to our partners
You can use Campaign Monitor however in-depth or surface-level you want to. If you just want to send a simple email and track who it goes to, you can do that. If you want to create detailed subscriber journeys with conditional content, you can do that too.
The autosave feature sometimes takes a few more seconds than I would like, but that's not a huge issue in terms of usability. Also, it's gotten more difficult to accurately check open rates, but that's not on Campaign Monitor.
My organization deals with many subscribers and they frequently enter and exit our system. Campaign Monitor allows this to happen seamlessly and with no daily management on our part.
This tool is one of the best platforms for email marketing. It's easy to use, has great designs, segmented audiences, and provides good analytics.
No major kinks or dislikes that would deter me from using the platform. One area where they fall short is the inability to do AB testing.
We can put all of our newsletters and campaigns in one place. It helps us deliver mass communications to our various audiences.
Campaign Monitor offers ease of use that allows new employees that are involved with CM to learn quickly. The drag and drop is one that everyone is familiar with so it enables newsletters to be completed quickly.
I wish placing images was easier and you could align differently. Meaning I would like to have the phot on the left and be able to place text beside the image instead of just above to below it.
It has made our daily sending of newsletters easier to manage and maintain. Also allows numerous persons to edit and collaborate. The ease of adding subscribers. I appreciate you have made it easier to add back unsubscribed members as well.
Very easy to use and send out blast emails.
Make updates to the website without warning customers so need to learn new features.
Makes it easy to compare campaigns and their analytics.
We have Campaign Monitor as an add-on from OmniUpdate and it is labled as "Email Campaign Manager" but it is powerd by Campaign Monitor. This is one of the most useful and best tools they have integrated into their company! Before, we had to hand-code our emails in Dreamweaver and use an archaic Bulkmailer to send out university emails. Campaign Monitor is quite simple to use and has so many benefits. Every email we work on is template-based. We do have templates we use on our website for creating emails through HTML, but the fact that Campaign Monitor also allows you to make templates is fantastic! Testing campaigns, adding in custom fields, reviewing open rates, click-through rates, checking out any analytics is a breeze! Their dashboard just got a facelift and is even more visual and understanding than before. Being able to drag and drop what you need is super user friendly. Having the options to build templates, use templates, look through coding, adjust your plain text file, view analtics should make anyone want to give this a try! Email deliverability has never really been an issue while using this product. Emails are sent out quickly, organized, and the analytics start to show almost instantly. Being able to see who has opened the email, who has not, if any emails have bounced, if anyone has unsubscribed, what links they are clicking on, etc. has all been a major plus for my team. I do also like that wirh the Premier account you are not limited to how many emails you can send to your list(s). The last thing any of us need is to run out about the amount of emails or max out when you have more campaigns to run.
Now, this may not be a Campaign Monitor issue, maybe more with our provider, but we sometimes have problems with the unsubscribe feature for emails. Since our system primarily sends internal email communication to our university community, our policy is that all faculty, staff, and students cannot opt out or unsubscribe from our emails. We had help hard coding a template to leave the unsubscribe button off, but we have run into emails getting a bit messed up with the footer still displaying it for campaigns. We do get to control the lists we upload, but having to add back subscribers when they should not have been allowed to unsubscribe in the first place is a bit tedious. I do understand that companies are concerned with where we get lists from, uploading them, deleting them, but our prime focus is sending emails out to our internal audience. Also, uploading lists can sometimes be a hassle. We do not have an automatic pull of our faculty, staff, and student lists, which means we have to upload those often. You are also only allowed so many subscribers in the system at one time, so if you need to have a lot of them, you have to pay for higher packages. We did get dinged one time because we uploaded more subscribers than allowed, so our system was shut down for a bit and flagged. OmniUpdate spoke with Campaign Monitor about the problem and let us know if you go over your amount or try to delete and upload too many subsribers at once their system gets alerted and will flag your account. Luckily now that we know this we have not had a problem since, but just caution to those who are new make sure you know the ins and outs. I have heard that the templates in Campaign Monitor are very basic but we made all of our own templates in HTML from our wesbite and upload them in, so we have not had that issue, but something still to think about for others. Also, the drag and drop feature may be a little slow at times.
So many to name! We had to code emails ourselves in Dreamweaver and then use Bulkmailer to send them out, which was a nightmare. We did not have any analytics this way, so we never knew any open rates, click-through rates, anything to see how the campaigns were doing. Using Campaign Monitor, we can quickly check analytics to see what we need to change in our email strategy. We will look into some A/B testing in the future with subject lines, maybe a little content, and even pictures. The fact that it is even an option is exciting alone! Our goal is to have emails with great content and open rates. Using A/B testing will help us get the most out of our time and effort. We also realize that some businesses and schools might have to hire someone full-time to build out emails by hand, code them, use an older system that is not user friendly and spend way too much time on them. By having a tool like Campaign Monitor, you can train multiple people to be able to build, send, review emails. Logging in to check analytics, for example, does not take long at all. Getting together a report on a campaign you may have done last year to compare numbers to this year take a little time, but it is so incredibly easy to do.
I love Campaign Monitor because Campaign Monitor has given me lots of email marketing features for automating all my regular email campaigns for sending personalized hybrid offers to the customers. Campaign Monitor is also well known for sending out real-time email campaigns and push notification campaigns. I can easily create email templates for Header and Footer and created a content block of it so that I can use it all over the email campaigns. My overall experience with Campaign Monitor been a great journey.
Campaign Monitor has no dislike and all my email campaigns are running smoothly.
We have purchased Campaign Monitor license for sending all our daily emails with hyper-personalized content so that we can target a specific set of customers and send them appropriate offers. Now we are able to send end to end all our email campaigns and also checking campaign effectiveness that how many customers has open mails and how click the links.

N/A - This took has been perfect for launching our email marketing campaigns.
We are now able to segment and send marketing emails to our subscriber base in order to really boost revenue.
Templates ; Campaign Monitor provides myself and my team mates with hundreds of professionally looking templates to choose from, for our email marketing campaigns. This has allowed me as a non-technical user to be able to launch email campaigns without needing to create email designs from scratch. Marketing automation ; For me, I rate Campaign Monitor as the king when it comes to email marketing automation. Using its visual journey designer, we have been able to create unique customer journeys, which ensures that customers receive timely emails whenever they take certain actions on our website or mobile app.
Very glad with my Campaign Monitor experience. Although I think its not too good integration with a lot of third party applications, has sometimes been a problem.
Campaign Monitor serves as a cost effective and efficient way to reach out to our customers quickly, in real time. Campaign Monitor allows us make use of triggers, thus letting us contact customers via emails , at the point where-in they are likely to make a purchase from us, as against waiting to contact them on weekends through our weekly email newsletters.
Simple to use and the drag and drop functionality when designing an email puts competitors to shame. Analytics are great.
Depending on use the price can be expensive for smaller organisations. Though if used frequently enough it more than makes it worthwhile.

The drag and drop editor is much better than other email platforms such as Mailchimp. The interface generally is very intuitive and easy to use.
I have no complaints around using Campaign Monitor. It is our preferred email platform.
Very useful for sending targeted email campaigns. One of the biggest benefits is being able to target different segments within the email itself.
Easy to create new clients and lists. Builder works well and campaigns are easy to manage.
I wish that I could designate a specific recipient for sign-up notifications by client, rather than account=wise.

Some of the newest features of Campaign Monitor are the best ones! We just started using Campaign Monitor's new form embedding feature to collect email address through our email signatures and it works like a charm!
I don't personally have anything I dislike about Campaign Monitor.
The newsletter sign ups through the embedded form is extremely helpful. We also use the journey option to have a Welcome Series ready for our new subscribers - it's nice not to have to worry about it!
