Simple to build easy setup and connecting to the app. Solid documentation that is relevant
When it goes down it goes down. Tough to work around when contentful has issues.
The content and who has access to it. Speeding up changes to the front end by removing the nitty gritty from the developers hands
- Easy to Use Software - Adaptability - User Friendly - Ability to duplicate forms instantly, which saves time rather than needing to recreate every document each time
- More training could be provided - More updates - There could be more functionalities added to the software to improve the overall end to end experience for users
- Form builder has been great for creating forms and duplicating rather than starting from scratch - For replicating, Contentful has made the process much more easy than previous
Being able to edit pages pretty easily and adding new sections to our pages
I think we could have had access to a better training session on how to use the platform
being able to update our pages XDPs ourselves without relying on too much back end and front end coding support
Contentful's UX is well designed, making it easy to learn and to teach and very intuitive for most purposes.
Permissions need to be carefully managed to avoid confusion but once there's a clear process in place internally to do so, this isn't an issue.
Building landing pages is easier than ever and empowers multiple teams to be involved instead of loading the work onto one.
It is a great software, i find the possibilities of display content the best option in the market.
compared to more consolidated options such as power point, we may miss some editing options, but they can be bypassed
Mainly the problem of displaying content in different formats and bringing learning in more dynamic ways.
I love how easy it is to use the platform and all the included functionality.
None. I really have no dislikes for the platform.
I'm able to create static links for several pieces of marketing content with Contentful.
The user face is easy to understand and straight to the point which makes my work much easier. Great features with draft saving and updates for my landing pages. Clean interface and easy to migrate.
It would be nice if there were a way to migrate data between spaces
Being able to create landing pages in short a short while.
Workflow has made life better and easy, with new innovations and excellent support we are loving the product, and continuously adding new things to it as it is a nice thing.
Just a customized thing will be good for replies.
Invoice/query managment
Features such as Webhooks and UI Extensions are the best to work and makes a developers life much easier
Content modeling architecture, if done thoughtfully in the initial stages could be a PRO. If Not, it could be a nightmare to remodel
Trying to replace legacy Wordpress which does not support features such as bulk upload of assets could be done using Contentful
I like best that Contentful is easy to use.
I don't like that it is sometimes has bugs; for example, copying a page sometimes doesn't work.
I am updating different landing pages
The UX for contentful is very intuitive and makes it so much easier for users to create and manage the site content
There was no option to have HTML embed content
Helping to create a well managed site, the content model has helped in doing so
I enjoy Simple UI that gets the job done which contentful has. Offers extras like SSO
not issues that we have encountered, we have been very happy with contentful
Having a single source of truth has been great for our developer team
Solid SaaS with continuous improvements and expansion in functionality, which means that the product continues to evolve to meet current-day needs.
The tooling could be improved to support different platforms (right now it's quite web-technologies oriented).
Improving speed and efficiency of content delivery, unlocking personalized experiences, and speed to market for content-based experiences.
Being able to schedule posting + immediate publishing
Can be hard to find the correct component I'm looking to edit
Having to wait for a regular cadence to run scripts to publish new app creative. with Contentful, am able to publish immediately to serve urgent business needs
We use the product for all our environments and it's a central repository for all our feature and needs. Very easy to work with and intuitive ineterface.
You can't just give access to one environment specifically like just qa access
Setting up content for the site and also content as per conditions
I find contentful Apps very useful, I love custom fields
Moving data between environments, there's still room for improvement in that area, I don't think the CLI is doing a good job in making it easier to move data between environments
Static Site generation Content management by a large marketing team
I like Contentful very much to integrate with React. It saves a lot of time to create multiple pages on gatsby js. Rich text rendering with references, fetching data in graphql way, Locales.
1. Unable to fetch the field data in graphql, without adding the placeholder in contentful. 2. We can see the last updated user name, but are unable to see what they updated the data. 3. We need the filter like this, Assume after selecting the page type, there is a field contententries. we can add multiple component types in contententries. _Page: Basic -> contententries -> Element: CTA. We need the filter like all the CTA entry available inside the contententries of Basic page. 4. When creating Locales, It is showing more text boxes for each locale. It is a little awkward to see. you can put a filter option to see the particular locale.
1.Rich text references helped so much. Content authors can easily add the different types of content types in rich text. Developers also easily extract the content type and render the component. 2. component created in gatsby js against each contentful content type and re-used the component with different data from contentful
I like how easy and simple the tool is for implementation but also changes.
It can be very manual especially when you need to every time you make a change ensure all the other steps are also published again.
We managed to reduce our dependency in the tech team on the small changes and build landing pages way more efficiently.
The flexibility that Contentful provides was a key benefit for our team. It allowed us to build customized placements in our mobile app without overcomplicating the deployment process. Our marketing team can easily deploy messaging via our CRM/Automation platform to these custom placements throughout our app by simply building the content in Contentful using pre-built templates. It's reduced our team's dependency to secure engineering resources for simple changes or message deployments into the app. Contentful has been a great way to enable multiple teams across our business, from Operations to Care.
The content customization options are lacking. The text editor sections only allow you to input text to a field but don't allow you to customize your text (bold/underline/colors/etc.). The customization is built into the template/placement by devs/engineering, which isn't ideal for marketers when we'd like to emphasize or draw attention to one part of your copy. This is where the "flexibility" begins to break down.
The main problem we solved was enabling the marketing and other operational teams to quickly and efficiently deploy messaging into our mobile app with little effort. We've realized the tremendous benefit of freeing up dev and engineering resources to focus on other critical feature rollouts. We're also able to deploy messaging without an app update release which reduces the amount of time needed to complete projects. Having the ability to change and update content on the fly, even after deployment, has been beneficial—errors and mistakes are resolved at a much faster pace than before.
It's very straightforward and easy to navigate. I'm an intern and I have never worked with a content management system before but contentful was easy to pick up within a couple of days.
I personally don't know any yet but I've only been working with it for about 8 weeks.
My team is organizing content on Contentful so that we can use it as our CMS in the rest of our company.
Contentful makes it easy for our team to create and manage website content without having to worry about messing up the code! Paired with GatsbyJS, they've made website development and management easier than imaginable. They're quick to answer questions, allow for ultimate content modeling flexibility, quick querying via Graphql, and our developer loves working with them. Gone are the days of operating a headless WP, Drupal or *insert old tech here*, security updates, and complicated plugins - we use Contentful.
The learning curve for those who are unfamiliar with CMS tools. The rich text editor is also something that can use some improvement.
A faster, more reliable website that we can't break! A robust tool that allows for customization while maintaining structured content throughout the site.
Easy integration and flexibility to bild a high class user experience.
The Image Optimization could be a little bit better - but great to have these build in.
We build high availability digital products.
The flexibility of the solution! It plugs and plays so well with other best of breed solutions.
There is a bit of a learning curve for those familiar with traditional CMS's.
We're creating rich, engaging digital experiences on contentful, it's helped our clients accelerate speed to market, and allowed them to truly leverage their content in an omni channel way.
For firms with monolithic WCMS software and IT resource dependency, Contentful is designed to co-exist with legacy content and data repositories, and it is so popular that business leaders can design and launch new digital products without being hamstrung by legacy IT.
Contentful product marketing is still more of a "tech developers love us" messaging. Contentful could do a better job of more easily describing how quickly they solve business problems for marketers, sales leadership, HR executives and digital product leaders.
Digital wealth management and investing tools. We've realized super fast go-to-market time frames with helping grow revenue by having digitized services to offer to new markets.
One of the more user-friendly CMS's out there. Really a joy to use and easy to understand. Create new content models and content is simple and intuitive.
The only thing that confused me was lack of single-use type entries.
We use it to run a marketing site.
I love the flexibility of contentful. It gives you all the freedom that you need to create amazing apps. Working with the Webapp is lots of fun. It's simple to use, fast and you can collaborate with a big team and manage multiple languages in a simple way. In combination with gatsby an amazing stack to build fast, modern sites!
With great power comes great responsibility. Since contentful is so flexible, you certainly need some experience to get the most out of it. It takes a bit of time to fully understand all concepts from content types to internationalization but it is worth learning it and the resources on the website (plus learning center) make the learning efficient and fun.
I want fast and user friendly websites and the combination of gatsby + contentful gives me exactly this. Plus, our project is multilingual and we need to be able to add new languages without too much effort and be able to manage content in a bigger team. Another advantage is that we are going to manage several Apps through one CMS.
The ability to change content state (as draft, published, etc.). Very dynamic and useful. Easy to integrate using its API and key/environment structure.
A little bit difficult to set a custom data structure without providing JSON structure
Fast content serving (for images in my case). It is really fast, just what I needed.
Contentful is an extremely stable, secure and user-friendly system with high availability and speed. As an NPO, we can benefit from an extremely generous NPO price plan.
It's a pity we can't benefit from all the new features because the NPO pricing model has been adjusted. We'd be very happy to pay part of the cost, but we can't keep up with the "large space" model.
Thanks to Contentful, we have converted to a Headless CMS infrastructure and benefit from the very well structured input masks for our editors.
The provided API is quite fast and reliable. When it comes to uploading media, Contentful makes this process easier and faster than other similar CMS tools. Besides, it is a secured platform, counting with a very reliable system of verification and control of input entries and it has a high level of flexibility, so you can structure your data in any way you want and. The company also provides help to integrate with a different application based on language Java, C# and many more . Contentful makes very easy to sort and edit your content.
Sometimes we need to deal with HTML, CSS, and Javascript, these things are not handled in Contentful as efficiently as I'd like. I mean, it's not bad, but it’s only useful if you want to add several contents at the same time. However, some of my colleagues have told me its biggest issue has to do with integration, because it doesn’t support many solutions. Personally, I haven't proven this.
This is a great tool to manage content. In my previous company, we worked with PatriotSystem and it was good, but Contentful is a better CMS in so many ways . Content API is quite fast and so reliable, all our Marketing actions can be completely done in a couple of minutes. Contenful CMS provide space a nice content management solution which is quite handy in working with the different project.
The interface is modern and very clean. It remains me of WordPress and how I’m a regular user for this platform, I could learn how to use it quickly. This familiarity made me felt like I already knew the software even before I started using it. The image usage is very simple to learn and modify. What I like the most is the ability to manage fields, being able to add, cut, move or remove them.
Contentful lacks of some spelling tools to check grammar. You have to add a plug-in in order to review the grammar of your content. Also, It does not integrate with Grammarly, what I consider to be the best tool for checking grammar, so you have to use another one. And, if you want to get the best out of Contentful, it requires some hard dev resources.
Contentful is a very used tool in the Marketing department of my company. It performs as our selected platform for loading content into apps, rather if it is on iOS or Android, and to pull down cloud content. It is a great tool to make your content reach international audiences with specific topics or content type (video, image, audio, etc).
