Low cost. OpenVPN is easy to configure and deploy.
Special software package required on every OS(no native support).
Secure tunnels for mobile productivity. Secure access to network resources.
Easy to configure on mobile devices, you can easily just email yourself the ovpn file or if you have a tablet device, just browse to the UTM User Portal and grab it yourself. I haven't used OpenVPN with any other vendor except for Sophos, but if it works this way with other vendors then it is a great solution. Simple connection once installed with the automated configuration. While some do complain about it, I like that it prompts for credentials every single time you try to connect with it, but once connected you can stay on for days depending on the policy. Why is this important, because PPTP and L2TP/IPsec systems usually have a method to remember credentials. To me this a huge security problem, if a laptop was stolen, or breached, these credentials exist without any sort of effort by the criminal entity.
Having to manually up the configuration each time a change is made on the UTM configuration, but it would seem there is no way to avoid that.
With Crypto Ransomware becoming more and more prevalent, and actively breaching Remote Desktop Services and other remote applications that SMBs and Enterprise organizations use, having a secured VPN is critical to keeping these resources private and removing the need for any sort of DNAT.

The price is too high and no middle classes are available

Best thing about OpenVPN server is the connectivity, accessibility and its ease of use. It does not get disconnected even after you put laptop in sleep mode. Also its better than GlobalConnect VPN because that used to take lot of time to connect.
Only thing i disliked about OpenVPN is its support team, our devops team had to call them again and again for a single issue that is we wanted to increase limit of number of our connections.
We had to access our sandbox and production server and we wanted to do it in secure way to increase security level we used OpenVPN this way not all people were able to access our servers even though in case credentials got leaked.
We have used it for authentication access for our VPN connect for our employee
setup is little complex but using documentation we can do it.
It's give best way to provide VPN connection in our server setup & access.
OpenVPN Access Server is very simple and easy to use
There is not much to dislike about OpenVPM Access Server. I have never had any issues with it.
Open VPN Access Server helps us access our files on our server when we are working remote.
We are using open vpn since many years to secure the access to our internal network. It is a very simple & robust solution The IT team administrate the solution, and every time we have a login / password pb they found a solution. We are hosting the solution on our own servers, so it is a very cheap solution.
Rustic interface, not nice design. the logs are not really user friendly.
Log to our own network securely
Easy setup options. First time I used OpenVPN for TryHackMe to access the TryHackMe virtual device. It was quite easy to set up as a begineer. One can save multiple access key files for different purpose.
It keeps running in the background even if you are not accessing any VM right now. It drains the battery.
It creates a private tunnel to access the resources. Suppose I am working from home and I want to use my office PC that has more processing power. -- To access that pc privately I would connect it via VPN to maintain my privacy and prevent data leaks.
The end user software is simple for non-tech team members to install and follow the guidance provided by the support team. So implementing a VPN of this type is made easier than with other softwares we've used before.
The application (on Mac) can disappear behind other windows, although the toolbar icon is helpful if you remember it's there, this means you can remain connected when you were finished using it.
We've been able to connect the entire team to our office network. This has been vital during the pandemic to allow staff to connect to servers and files when not in the office. The security bulit into OpenVPN means these connections are secure, simple and safe.
