Compare Twilio SendGrid Email API with other popular tools in the same category.
Sendgrid is very easy to set up and because it's such a popular and well known service, it can integrate with hundreds of different software providers, giving a lot of flexibility.
If you don't know what you're doing, the idea of using a service like Sendgrid can be confusing to some people, and requires some time to figure out and integrate. This is not an issue with Sendgrid specifically, just with people who aren't fully understanding how the service works.
So I have my regular email service provider where I send my newsletters, promos and such but they're not so good at sending transaction based emails. Sendgrid solves that problem for me.
Very easy to use, I can see the bounced and blocked emails
I wish it had more filters apart from date, the contents of the email are not visible but shows how many times someone has opened an email
Sending emails to someone
While working on Maple CRM. we were looking for a good email campaign tool which we can use directly with our CRM system and the Maple CRM team suggested us Sendgrid tool to integrate with their software. This tool is very helpful and it helped us with more quality and filtered leads.
As of now, we haven't found any dislike for this software and are happy to use this software.
By sending bulk emails to clients, birthday anniversary wishes to clients. It also helped us by scheduling different campaigns throughout the software to get good leads. We also filtered the leads by using this email campaigning API system integrated with our CRM system.
SG is very easy to send and track the email delivery of the users to identify the delivery logs.
The fact that it required an OTP based passcode every day to log in. Very frustrating
Integrate with our core product to check the delivery logs of email to our users mailbox
Economical way to design and sent email campings.
Initially, understanding the way to use it requires effort.
Easy to design and send bulk emails to potential clients. I tried to get more traffic to the website, and it worked.
To use in several of my websites, I wanted an email API. It's what I use for transactional emails as well as for our email marketing business. All of the features were created by us, and the Twilio SendGrid Email API is compatible with it. It's simple to set up and maintain, and there's plenty of documentation to get started with.
The installation of this software was quite complex and time-consuming. We had to contact the support service several times before we were able to get the system up and running.
We needed some sort of good software for an email campaign, and SendGrid came through for us. With the help of SendGrid, we are able to run various marketing campaigns, and it is also a very organised software to utilise.
1. Reliability - Its uptime is pretty excellent and gives me the confidence to send bulk emails without any fear at anytime. 2. Templates - It comes with a sound library of templates that I customize with my data and save for future usage. 3. Analytics - Its monitoring dashboard helps me understand my customer experiences, and I can pull in this data externally for further analysis.
1. High Price - It has been heavily rising its prices, which I find difficult to comprehend. I might choose other alternatives since my use-cases are not as complex. 2. Long Support Wait Times - Even for an upgraded package, the support is not real-time and you have to wait till a long time to get in contact with a real-person.
We use SendGrid APIs in our platform for all end-user communications via SMS. Since we operate at scale with complex developer requirements, we chose SendGrid over other vendors. It's reliability and heavy customer-focused features are the primary reasons for my overall positive review. However, the pricing model is pretty expensive and wouldn't recommend for others who might not need all the advanced features.
The best thing about Twilio Sendgrid API is the ease of setup. First, when I created an account with Sendgrid, the steps to integrate your existing email server with Sendgrid Email API is very easy. Very few parameters like the API ID, password and username provided by Sendgrid need to be configured into the existing SMTP server and its done. Moreover, you can use the Sendgrid API flexible plans with plans as low as 15$. One more useful feature is the Usage Alert which is sent as an email. So you know, how many emails you have already used up and can accordingly plan the remainder of the month without increasing your monthly bill.
Most of the features provided by Sendgrid are useful for detailed analysis and further action. Nothing which I dislike as such. Only thing which I like to mention was the increase in pricing of plans which happened when Sendgrid merged with Twilio. However, we have absorbed the increasing cost over the time period.
I am using Twilio SendGrid Email API to send emails to a large list of prospective customers on behalf of my client. Generally, I am sending upto 10000 emails on a daily basis, and the performance of Sendgrid servers is quite good.
Twilio SendGrid has a very to use API which allows you to get up and runninng in minutes. I can also get to enforce which email addresses can send from my API key and this is a major plus for control and security. The free 100 email per day limit is also very ideal for testing.
I hvave not come across any of these yet.
This API has really helped with customer onboarding and email verifications. SendGrid is very reliable and we use it for all our email comms in our apps
It was a super easy setup process from an engineering perspective. All you need is to make an API call and you're set.
I think the visibility into deliverability could be improved. Sometimes it's tough to understand when recipients are opening their emails fully.
We used to deliver our emails via our own application server, so using an external service sped up our platform.
