Adobe Learning Manager Reviews: 4.0/5 — Solid Choice

Adobe delivers, as usual, with its arsenal of features and robust capabilities.

Given the slew of newer LMS systems out there, Captivate Prime LMS looks and feels like a piece of nostalgia, grandmotherly.

If I needed to build up from ground zero, for a client that needed heavy customization, than I would go with Captivate Prime LMS.

Uniform delivery across platforms, ease of uploading, creating course and keeping customers separated by catalogues

Navigating between courses is missing the feature of a "back" button or navigation menu. the back button on the browser can be used but then you have to scroll to where you were again. Otherwise you have to hit "home" then go to learning and find your learning program/course again Also there have been a few technical issues - content with different files names rolling versions of eachother (incorrectly), content was not viewable (backend issue for whoever adobe uses to host content) and the menus/content were all messed up for a day or so. All of these issue were resolved but I am not happy about this. I chose adobe since I thought they would have a stable, solid platform that wouldnt see these issues. I am second guessing myself.

Low cost per user makes it possible for my small company to use adobe. No major "buy in".

price is not really affordable but the quality is right there, plugin aren't easy to develop for the platform as for wp or other cms

I like the range of design options and testing options. The software simulation record feature is among the best.

But frankly, most people use a fraction of the capabilities because this is a complicated application. There are better and simpler web-based services. Previewing and testing are often different in execution.

Building training that can be deployed on our LMS.

The easy quick to learn interface and in consonance with other Adobe software interfaces I've used, the ease of importing media files is also helpful.

I think that’s important for different reasons (HIPAA annual cert. v management training) and needs to be captured.

Back end integration not mentioned which leads me to question whether it is a possibility at all and the cost for such integration and data sharing with additional vendors Entire system appears to be a closed-end system and not something which is very easily integrated even on the front end it’s mentioned but I have a hard time seeing where it would be integrated other than customization of images and other flat components I am concerned that potentially employees would find this to be a distraction away from their work assignments. I’m curious to see what kind of reinforcement and regulation might be available to avoid that type of distraction.

Upgrade to typical presentations used for e-learning.

The tool provides users with a Modern IU and a very simply UX which is essential when utilizing a program such as this.

The tool is completely missing a social user experience allowing users to interact with each other which i feel is huge miss for this product.

Access learning plans on the go adapting to the increase of use of mobile devices vs computers. Native software available for both IOS and Android.

The availability of options to change and modify presentation styles. New learners are able to use this product quickly without instruction.

communication and teaching. This application is a tremendous teaching tool. Most imaging loaded into adobe keeps the same format and is easy to manipulate to fit the ideal size.

I like how easy it is to publish Captivate projects straight to the LMS from within Captivate. No need to export and upload to your own LMS.

The lack of eCommerce support is one thing that is sorely lacking if you want to sell your training. This product is also not for small organizations due to the 100 user minimum requirement. If you only have 20 users in your company, it doesn't make sense to subscribe with Captivate Prime.

The ability to deliver Captivate based eLearning to a wide audience within the company. The fact that we don't have to maintain a server, there's sufficient support, and an attractive dashboard made Adobe Captivate Prime a worthy solution for our needs. Developers, LMS admins, and the users all have positive remarks with the use of Captivate Prime.

It seems like it can do a lot, and our account manager and the support team is very helpful.

The fluidic player - even though I use Adobe Captivate it interfears with the accessabiity and table of contents. Emailling support multiple times in one day makes Zendesk think it's for the same ticket - to prevent confusion I had to make my own Zendesk account and log tickets that way. No ticketing system for enhancement requests, it just dissapears. I want to log and track the requests myself. Hard to use, e.g. for an instance I have to create in VC, task, and Learning Path. I have to assign an instructor to VC and task. Lots of places to trip up. Not enough training avaliable - not in depth enough. Not enough capability for instructors - so we end up having to give them admin rights - e.g to mark a course as manually complete, to archive their old marked stuff. etc

SSO from multiple sites has been great. Auto creation of users via SSO has been great. The ability to api information into multiple client sites has been great. Ability to en mass assign out courses by role type or client sites has been great.

Some users have reported occasional glitches and technical issues with Adobe Learning Manager, which can disrupt the learning experience.

It solves the problem of efficient management and delivery of online learning content. It benefits users by providing a centralized platform for course creation, tracking learner progress, and generating reports, streamlining the learning process.

I like the clean interface and ease of publishing content from Adobe Captivate

The custom JS I had on the captivate content did not work within Prime. It is laughing in its own frame or something and the JS did not work. I had custom navigation so this did not work.

Small number of users but still needed LMS tracking. Would have fit the bill. Bit pricey though. Went with a Moodle instance and the captivate packages ran beautifully so could keep all the custom work.

The platforms ability to organize and use various mediums of content. I do appreciate the overall design and features as far as it works for a Learner: as in course access, learning plans, automatic enrolment and search functions. I have previously used captivate prime to schedule in person seminars with pre-requisites and sign-ins which I thought was nice. We have also created multiple courses that were video training clips and captivate prime worked well as a tool for distributing and tracking that

The ability to track progress of staff could be improved, it is not the easiest to monitor a high number of employees. I wish there was a clearer spreadsheet or chart that could help track all employees in one place. Even under the administrator access I found the4 traceability of progress tedious and not clean. Functions in addition to what I have already suggested above with a spreadsheet is to be able to search by various filters, such as, employee name, location, course, manager, learning plan, date/time. I do believe all the pieces exist to make this happen already. This just needs to be integrated into the Manager role and above capabilities to improve ease of use. As an admin you could download the metadata to excel, however, tracking in that way is not convenient since it is a snapshot and as soon as anything is completed you would have to pull another report and find a way to compare and manage around that issue.

The accessibility it provides for training content and the ability to add new content.

The user interface is very simple and easy to use. Creating courses is very straight forward. Customer support, although it is overseas, has been excellent.

Many of the features do not operate as desired. Active fields, a place where learners can enter information as part of the registration process, when used with a drop down box are unsortable. If you have a lot of entries it is impossible to find the one you need. No reoccurring classroom training option. If you have a classroom course you cannot automatically reschedule the course every 12 months. I find this a real issue. Using the Adobe ID system to log in is nothing but painful. If you use a kiosk set up, single computer for multiple learners to access the LMS,if you close the browser and do not sign out the sign in process leaves a cookie, which does not expire when the browser is closed. This prevents the next person from logging in until the cookie is removed. No access to passwords or the ability to reset a learner's password. No way to auto select language preference. User must change manually by accessing there profile.

Overall, I think that another LMS would serve us better. The time invested in setting up a new LMS is the few reasons we are staying with Captivate prime.

Difficult to capture external training. Individuals with multiple roles find it cumbersome to deal with the navigation required build and deploy a course or curriculum. Too many clicks to get things done. End users had to train more than usual to understand how to navigate the system.

Small business training. We gave up and went with an enterprise solution.

Easy of use was the best feature, as well as the ability to use stock images easily

The LMS is fantastic with both traditional e-learning as well as social learning. The social learning aspect is something I never thought about until seeing it in Adobe's LMS

The upside of Captivate Prime LMS is the potential for more complicated courses and interactive designs. Compared to other LMS platforms, Adobe has by far the most flexibility in terms of creating any kind of course you want.

There is a huge learning curve to start using Captivate Prime LMS. For several functions, I had to get on a phone with a representative.

The problem I'm solving is training within the organization can be condensed with LMS, not just with Adobe's platform but with all LMS. The benefit with Adobe LMS is the fact that you get access to the support level Adobe usually provides compared to smaller LMS platforms.

Great simple work available. I was able to use thes examples to help clarify my direction

I do like the many job aides and help guides in the application. They have been very helpful.

I receiveve feedback today that one of the courses that was taken, that it did not allow them to completely finish the course. The user had to X out of the screen which is not a best practice and sometimes does not record the test results.

The interaction that you’re able to create that sets captivate apart from PowerPoint when doing interactive trainings.

It is not very user-friendly. I had to complete a training to feel somewhat proficient in creating.

Adobe integrates with the Adobe platform and is easy to create content and upload it with the adobe suite of tools. It is a large company and recognized everywhere.

The interface is cumbersome, and the mobile experience is clunky. The system is like it was designed and used by accountants for finance people and then they want to use it for artists. You need a degree in excel for reporting and thir overseas technical support is difficult at best. It is more technical then user friendly.

We used the system as an LMS to house learning and courses for on boarding and extended learning

Easy to use, intuitive, makes teaching a simply and fst experience. Would definitely recomment to others.

Hard to use, not intuitive, the platform does not mimic anything people already know how to use so it was really difficult for older users.

We are an educational company, so LMS is important.
