"Adobe is a Big name but falls short on an LMS"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

Adobe integrates with the Adobe platform and is easy to create content and upload it with the adobe suite of tools. It is a large company and recognized everywhere.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The interface is cumbersome, and the mobile experience is clunky. The system is like it was designed and used by accountants for finance people and then they want to use it for artists. You need a degree in excel for reporting and thir overseas technical support is difficult at best. It is more technical then user friendly.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used the system as an LMS to house learning and courses for on boarding and extended learning

"Great Support but falls short of the basic functions."
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

Adobe has terriffic customer support. They are very responsive to the suggestions to improve the system.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

It does some things very well. However, it does not provide the basic functions that an LMS should. The system does not propperly support a Prerequisite function. A learner should not be able to enroll or secure a seat in a classroom course when there is a prerequisite and it is not complete. When utilizing plans and paths, Learner rosters are not available to view as an administrator, only if you are assigned as the instructor can you view the list. Reporting on Paths really needs some attention. It reports the path progress only, not the individual courses in the path. Learner interface is a little confusing for them. It takes a while for them to figure it out... I have a long list of these basic functions that this LMS does not support.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not many. It just barely meets our needs. We are exploring new systems.

"Why is there no perfect LMS?"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

The price is right and the features are OK for a company taking a first leap into LMS. Also, if you design in Captivate, it is easy to move content into production.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The reporting is weak - there is a dashboard, but basic reports/graphs need to be built (they do not provide a starter list).. The interface is boring - too much real estate is wasted to empty tiles. Also, if you ever delete a user, you can NEVER reuse that email address. Finally, resource/people scheduling is not robust. FTE is abut 1.5.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were looking for an LMS option for one segment of our business. As we grow, we are quickly outgrowing this platform.

"A confusing system for a beginner"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

It is a good way of putting all your training material in one place once you figure out how to use the system

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

There are too many places to update things which makes it confusing, content, catalogues, courses, paths, plans. It doesnt help you to create content that is in a seperate place called captivate and if you dont know how to use this there is noone to help guide you they just say to watch a video so we have this and have been upable to use the product. If you are experienced working with and LMS maybe it makes more sense but for a novice its too complex. I also thing the view isnt particularly appealing. It could be brighter and bolder and more eyecatching.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its mainly used for onbaording and sharing training that is specific to our company and not off the shelf. Good we have one place to share this information but i dont think we get the most out of what we're paying for. Reporting is also not helpful so we do not use these features as there is too much information.

"Not seamless yet"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

The ease of adding a new user account, the ability to have dynamic content with buttons, next/back, and quiz functions. We liked that one course could be instantly sent to relevant groups based on manager or other data.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The experience is not seamless and easy all-around. For example, new users are easily misled to enter their email and end up in a dead-end when they ought to click "Create Account" during registration. If they've already identified they're a new user who needs to register, the next page should not have a space for them to enter email address and then above it "Create account" it should just skip to the create account prompts.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

New hires have often never come in contact with our product before, so we have a lot of in-house custom-made courses about our company and product. These in-house courses also include software program trainings for software programs that were developed in-house and don't exist outside.

"An Aging LMS System?"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

The fully integrative model that Adobe uses (with the Adobe Captivate desktop publishing software, alongside the potential to integrate with Adobe Connect) creates a unique offering that isn't found with other platforms. There is a huge opportunity to bank on this model and to take advantage of a homogenous offering that makes it easier to manage content, and can be uniquely beneficial to content creators and trainers alike. Critical wins: - Truly mobile friendly, all platforms or systems seem to be well supported - Achievement tracking and ranking works very well - Setting up complex modularity is easy to do if you have a unique process of how you like to setup elearning for your organization

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

In the years I've used Adobe LMS the support feels as though it's become non-existent. Ironically, in this COVID-19 age, it seems like Adobe would be providing better backing and support for eLearning technologies and platforms, but support is difficult to reach and sales staff is only interested in working with accounts that are in the four digit user count range. Critical to consider: - System is not updated with new features - Pricing model is outdated and atrocious; the minimum user spec counts seem enterprise-accessible only, yet there is poor enterprise support - The system feels like it's aging and not being well funded or supported by Adobe. Documentation KB's and support pages have screenshots that are years old and no updates - Adobe Connect (a unique add-on if you want to enhance elearning suite) seems to also be showing it's age and, again, pricing seems completely out of touch with current market

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Adobe LMS allows users to win in two ways - the combination of content creation using the Adobe Captivate software and the allowance of multi-tiered and complex elearning courses to be managed through Prime LMS are key wins. The support of on-the-go capabilities for media (such as iPads and mobile phones) makes it a huge win for our employees.

"a complex software for a simple purpose"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

many options to create videos and material for teaching

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The complexity of the platform makes it unattractive to use it for a fast development or single project

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use it to create stunning educational material for test purposes on schools.

"Overpromised, Underdelivered"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

We use Captivate Prime for training with a large organization with many sites, it is helpful for supplying a cloud centralized location for training.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

I'm not sure where exactly to start. We had two fantastic demonstrations with Hitesh, he was able to portray Prime as the perfect solution, having everything that we need and requested. Can we add youtube videos directly to a course? Yes. Not actually, we need to use a separate expensive editing software to "embed" the youtube videos needed that show up in a tiny window that is very antiquated. 80% of our users don't use email, can we send notifications outside of email to a platform like Microsoft Teams? Yes, API can do that. Not actually, the notifications API is restricted on a per-user basis, so an admin cannot poll notifications for all users and distribute them. We're told because the notifications are "private". Can we get reporting into Power BI for greater flexibility and displaying the measures our clients care about? Yes! We have a Power BI integration. Not actually, the integration is primitive. It is a 24-hour point in time CSV dump that doesn't do any data stitching, so courses show up as being not started, in progress and completed all at once for the same user. This isn't helpful. We need to have trending information. Week over week, how many hours were spent learning? How many courses were completed/started/etc? This seems like a very simple measure that the system is already reporting on, but the system's reporting interface leaves much to be desired. (Which is why we switched to Power BI) Our client finds a lot of value in LinkedIn Learning, does that integration work well? Not exactly, this one was the most difficult. We ran the integration the first time, and it didn't work, no course would load, sign-in wasn't working and we found out it was an issue with the integration. Forcing us to re-run the integration duplicating all course content. Once the content was re-loaded, we continued to have sign-in. issues. Come to find out Prime hadn't worked with LinkedIn Learning on a new update they had pushed to the sign-in process and it broke. They fixed it within 2 months. We gave Captivate Prime 8 months to clean up the old duplicated courses in our instance which should have been a very simple SQL command as all of the duplicated course content began with "Archived-". After 8 months of no movement, we spent 40 hours MANUALLY deleting the duplicate courses. We raised issues about the mobile experience and LinkedIn Learning not working as well as time spent not being reported into Prime. Both of these issues were raised 7 months ago and still there is no sign of them being addressed. We also had issues with the Adobe developed Azure AD Enterprise Application and how it managed the tokens. It would hold the token for longer than 30 days when the system rejects tokens older than 30 days. Rather than fixing the issue with the application published by Adobe, we were told we needed to figure it out because it was related to our SSO provider. We spent 20 hours back and forth and ended up having to set a custom token expiration policy with the enterprise app. This is a very simple example of two departments not communicating requirements. If the LMS requires 30 day old tokens, but the SSO application that another department developed holds the tokens indefinitely, there's bound to be a login problem. Overall, we were sold a bag of goods. The system is very buggy and doesn't work as you would expect it to. We had a call with the Product Manager after using the platform for almost a year with issues and expressed our concern that Captivate Prime doesn't listen to its customers. Rather than pushing out new features, spend some time fixing some of the issues that are currently out there.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Training has been haphazard at best in our organizations. One of them has done 1-1 hands on training for new hires and it's helped reduce that time. The other one has regulatory training requirements and Captivate Prime has helped us standardize and automate this learning assignment.

"Not what I expected"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

It allowed you to create training online.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The system was too cumbersome and confusing. You had to have one application to make the presentations and if you wanted to add training questions you had to use another system and import it into the presentation.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had a training program that uses binders. Adobe did not work well for our application because the system wasn't as user friendly as others.

"Very disappointing"
What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager?

The promises of Adobe Captivate Prime LMS

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager?

The Adobe Captivate Prime at a first sight is easy to use, but when I started adapting it for my purposes it was very unflexible. The sales person told me that it wold fit to my needs, after I did explanied her whatfor I needed it. It was simple not true what she sad. The respective support was awful. It became a very bad experfience.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

No single benefit. Just costed me a lot of time and monay, the support did not react accordingly. I had to argue and prove that the system was full of problems for Adobe to release me from the annual contract. I did prove it. The continued charging me with the monthly fee. I hat to contact the sales department many times until they canceld the contract.
