I have been happy with the training we received. Brannon was very thorough in his explanations and always was available if we had any questions.
Our only complaint would be that some of the functions did not have the ability to personalize to our company's preferences. Its taken quite a bit more investment and time to get the system running than we were hoping.
Having all this data in one place will be wonderful for us. Many of the reports and functions will provide great value for us. Expense reporting will be great to have in one place.
Integration with other software I use. The ability to quickly create an invoice and send it. Support is timely and very helpful. BT listens to suggestions on how to improve the product and is quick to find you solutions to problems.
Notifications that do not let me define when they should be sent. BT is working to help get this corrected. Data Transfer from QB to BT is still not available in the Enterprise edition so we are unable to upgrade.
Expense Integration of the newest BT version with QB. Adding more criteria so you can have more control of when notifications can be sent.
Our main driver was the need for better resource planning and improve our billing efficiency. The integration with QuickBooks goes a long way towards this. Once the configuration is properly done (don't underestimate the effort required: user rights, staff, projects, rates, etc,) using it on a daily basis is relatively straightforward. We are still learning on how to work with the system and going through our change management process. I highly recommend going with the Premium support. They are very responsive and helpful.
1. Inability to connect to more than one QuickBook companyNo without the need for another subscription 2. Inability to invoice using daily rates. Only hourly rates are supported. There's a manual workaround but it's less than ideal 3. Timesheet rounding on the invoice level, not the timesheet level. In other words, during our pre-sales, I was led to believe that we could round up the times on the invoices. Turns out this is only possible for tthe employee's timesheet. While I want my employees to indicate their actual time, it's the rounding up from an invoicing perspective that interests me. E.g. we have a minimum charge of 1 hour even if the employee only works 30 min. Rounding up at the timesheet level creates the opportunity for the employee to 'slack off' for the extra 30 minutes. 4. We have over 100 employees using this and ran into performance issues (page unresponsive) when trying to view the allocations charts. We created an internal project to track all internal time (vacation, sick days, etc.) and allowed everyone to enter time. Apparently, the allocation dashboard can't handle this volume . I found a workaround that's less than ideal (1 project/department and I duplicated the codes). 5. Backups: I wish I had known that the system is only backed up daily. Our controller made an error (re-synch'd with Quickbooks using the wrong company) and we lost an entire day. The worst is that we had to wait 3 days to be told they had done the restore so no one was submitting their timesheets during this timeO.
1. Resource allocation, especially for shared resources 2. Project budget tracking 3. Inefficient and manual monthly invoicing
Doing time audits, invoicing, expense tracking is all very easy. I like that I can sync with my accounting programs and store receipts in the program. Invoicing is a breeze and I enjoy the direct email to client option.
I wish there was a way to have multiple tabs open at one time for BT. Any time I need to do something else or need to reference a number or person have to leave the page I am on, I have to start the task all over again because I left the tab. There should be a way to see multiple items I am working on in BT at one time. I also wish there was a way you could see exactly what time someone submitted so you could see if they were late or not.
Time/expense entries, invoicing, reporting, and project compilations. This program has an app and it is very easy to upload receipts and expenses, as well as, enter time on the go.
Brannon Hollingsworth is our consultant and not only did the integration to use this product go fast, but the onboarding was perfect. the first one was learning the system and the second was my agenda. I found this so helpful to be able to ask all the questions that i need specifically for our company. Now when I look at the webinars I can know exactly what I should do and what I need to focus on.
Don't have any complaints, until you learn some shortcuts it might take longer to do something in the beginning. it just takes time to adjust to new products.
Currently it is easy to track all of our employees hours on the spot for consulting projects. its also easy to pull invoices and have them sync with QuickBooks with each staff members wording already included, and have there rates automatically within as well. No more accounting and human error on line by line placement
How quick Joseph Almodovar was and efficient. No wasted time.
Nothing. It was great. Joseph Almodovar was great.
It has made it reports and billing and time tracking a breeze
I like that if I need assistance, customer service is fairly quick
I don't like that BigTime is designed to have Quickbooks feed to BigTime. We use it the opposite and it doesn't work to it's full potential.
Time-keeping is easier for each employee. BigTime and Quickbooks communicate fairly well.
Once we have it set up it will save time and combine a lot of what I do in several platforms into one place.
It is not user friendly. Not the same language of feel as other software. Integration with Quick Books is not a smooth as it was implied
Reports, project hours tracking, budget tracking.
Many employees can input their time at once and I can quickly see where we are at on any project at anytime.
Synchronization with QuickBooks Online can take a little while. This could be due to many employees entering time for many projects though.
BigTime has been great for my clients to track their time with different projects. It is much more user friendly than other softwares we have seen
BigTime is a very clear way to enter time across multiple clients and accounts. It allows small intervals of time, notes added, many categories and good transparency as far as what work the team is doing. It helps us track profitability well and keep teams on task.
The admin privileges make it a bit clunky -- for example, the site admin has to manually add each new client or project. That can be a tedious step especially when our admins work in a different office in a different time zone. The user view is also not very pretty or easy to use. I have about ten projects going for each of my four to six clients, so I end up having sixty different lines of time all in front of me. I wish there were ways to organize that information better.
BigTime is essential for tracking how much people are working and preventing burnout. It also helps keep us on track of what accounts are using the most billable hours and where we need to scale back. The biggest benefit is that the company has high visibility into who's working a ton, which accounts are taking more of a load and information we need to bring support where its needed most.
It is pleasant to review, seems somewhat intuitive
It's a little clunky. There are a lot of choices and screens. I want to be able to run reports from My Projects under My Company...it seems like just a dashboard, so I'd like to be able to run reports from that.
Keeping track of time.
The prompt response to email support requests and quick resolutions to issues.
Not able to get transferred to a support specialist via phone. Have to leave message and wait for response, which is usually via email, not phone.
Time tracking
The solution gave me suggestions on what I should try in my system to get it solved.
There was a little bit of delay in responses.I am not how ,but the problem was solved at the end of the conversation.I think its a glitch on the site.
We are using big time for time entry. Its easy to add multiple clients and enter time appropriately.UI seems to be good except for the lack of scroll bar in time entry page.
Seems easy to use and the customer service has been top notch
Nothing so far, but its too early to say that I would "very likely" recommend it
Tracking time, figuring out profitability, making invoicing easier. We are just getting started, so to date we have not yet realized any benefits
The ability to add user defined fields. Reports are also easily created. I am excited about the possibilities for it to automate future invoicing. .
That it requires you to invoice out of it to close out an activity or WIP. I am not a fan of Quickbooks and switching accounting systems is another lift we are not able to make at this time. So it will add some duplicate work. However like I said, I am still learning and hopeful this will resolve.
We are wanting to understand our capacity and automate consultant time entry and payment to our IC's.
Accurately and somewhat easily records our staff time at an affordable price.
Can't add new projects within timesheet entry field Time does not get recorded for invoicing until submitted by staff. Extra step seems cumbersome and can lead to hours missed.
Accurate time recording.
I quickly got my question answered through online chat, which was helpful. I emailed back to let them know a problem and I quickly got a courteous response.
I was told entire weeks of data could not be copied from one week to another, but i was not not told my admin could just change the dates of entry.
Professional Services Automation.
It is straightforward in terms of looking like a calendar of your week. The mobile app is helpful for when you forget to app your hours while at the office.
I wish there was a way to organize the rows. Perhaps by frequency of use, alphabetical or just as the user wishes.
We use it to track how much time we are spending on projects and then how to appropriately bill for things in the future. At this point in time, the project is too young to have produced any tangible results. But, we were able to see the average time taken to write a byline and relay this info to new hires.
The support techs, they are always happy to help
Having to beta test problems that has u known solutions
Better tracking of timesheets and fixed fee
They were super fast and fixed my problem easily
There is nothing we currently do not like.
WE use big time for time and expenses.
I enjoy how user friendly BigTime is. It is easy to find your own solutions whenever you have questions.
I have only been using BigTime for a month and a half now, so as of now I have no complaints.
I have realized how easy invoicing can be using this application.
The product comes at a low cost and has a very simple UI for employees to enter time.
The UI is almost too simple, exporting information to organize or make reports can be tough. Data is also not automatically saved, if you do not save your progress as you enter information you will have to re-enter it. The expense reporting is also very limited, so we use another form for this instead of going through bigtime.
This creates our time tracking for chargeability and client billing. We also use it for forecasting by reviewing previous project's data that is exported from bigtime to excel.
The reporting features are comprehensive and easy to use.
The look and feel of the newer version is less compact than the older version (I could see more information on a page with the older version, which is a big draw for me). I feel like the newer version has a lot of wasted space.
BigTime helps me to manage our company's travel expenses efficiently.
It connects with Quickbooks Desktop pretty easily and only requires me to do minor administration (every few months I need to sign back in on the server). It has a nice simple interface for employees to enter time.
The timer feature is a good idea, but poorly executed - If I work on a task for 5 days then I end up with 5 rows instead of it consolidating into one that spans the week.
Basic time tracking with some useful reporting.
I received a response very quickly and they knew exactly what I needed help with.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. It was an easy issue to solve. No issues here.
I needed to track my hours in projects as well as my employee.
The updated interface for BigTime has greatly improved with the new update. The app has been a great tool as well.
Expense reporting can be a bit cumbersome.
As an agency it helps us to scope and track employee utilization. From an HR perspective, we've been able to gain a lot of insight into utilization and this helps inform our decisions to hire.
We just signed up for the software and the training support from Brannon has been excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable on the product and very patient with our questions.
I think the scheduling of training could be a bit better, I seem to get notices last minute and they don't integrate well into my calander
Record Keeping and reporting
I like that is cloud based so multiple users can use at the same time. Reports seem to have the ability to be customized however I'm fairly new so I haven't figured out all the ways to do it yet. It syncs with QB which is a nice feature for sending out the final invoice.
Invoicing. It seems like fields that have been entered sometimes revert back to a default and it can be frustrating to have to go back and redo. Customer support is slow, you generally have to leave a message and then it gets returned some time later both when phoning in or try to chat on the website.
Multiple users can use at once. The report features once I learn how to customize a bit better.
I liked that my questions that I had were listened to and he showed me step by step how to do what I was asking. He let me ask the questions and go over what I wanted to know.
There is not really anything I dislike about my training session today.
BigTime gives me an easier way to do our project management and billing. It is easier to track time in this software.
Bigtime is very intuitive and easy to use. We are still new in the process since we are setting up the application.
I don't like that in the timesheet, it is not possible to know at what time you started to work in a day, only the number of hours worked during that day. I have to keep a separate record for that.
We want to be more organized with our time
