Big Time works well for us for our detailed timekeeping requirements, detailed invoicing, and expenses. Integration with QuickBooks is not only helpful, but necessary for us, and this aspect saves me a ton of time. I also like the interface- user friendly.
Some of the reports are a little clunky to customize. Some of the invoicing steps can be cumbersome also. This is an excellent tool for us, but isn't always the most intuitive. I find tricks and buttons all the time that I never noticed before.
This program has helped us streamline our invoicing, timekeeping/payroll, and expenses. Integration with QuickBooks is absolutely necessary for us, and Big Time is the best interface we've found.
The system is very user friendly and the customer support is quick and easy.
It is still lacking some basic capabilities such as being able to put multiple projects onto one invoice. Some of my client's get 5-12 separate invoices.
The new invoice approval feature is a tremendous help and time saver!
Big Time is always very quick to get online and quickly understand our issues. The responses are typically helpful in resolving the issues we may have.
Some of the language barriers that exist between the program language and accounting language we are used to. Most of this is quickly overcome
Timekeeping and invoicing. Invoicing is the sinlge largest timesaver. The use of Tasks is helpful in establishing budgets.
We're new to Big Time so I'm still working through all the options. So far, the fact that everyone has to put notes in before they can save is awesome.
Generating reports seems to be a little difficult unless you know exactly were to look. As a new user, I feel it's not very user friendly.

Easy to use
The time tracking and expense tracking against budget is fantastic. The ease of invoicing is also very good.
Sales tax is not counted against the project budgets-this is actually a big deal and I'm surprised it's not fixed yet. Budget forecasting is non-existent.
It's a good one software solution for time, expense and budget tracking.

I wish bigtime had the same functionality as expensify. We miss the ability to email receipts to the software, please add this function!

Reporting can be challenging. There are many reports to choose from and difficult to know which information will show - mostly trial-by-error

Just now getting started with BigTime. Seems that the greatest benefit will be realized by administrative folks due to the powerful sorting functions available.
We’ve used other professional services time tracking, billing, project management etc. tools, but my favorite thing about Big Time is that it is much easier to use so far. It focuses on the time/expense tracking aspects for consultants instead of trying to also solve a complex project management tool solution at the same time. It’s easy to use and customize for our needs, and that’s why I like it.
The UI feels clunky and outdated. Once you get used to it, it’s not a real problem - just aesthetic. The mobile apps are also limited to time/expense entry only.
We are using Big Time to track billable time for professional services projects with dozens of customers. Consultants track their time/expenses in Big Time, and management uses the tool for detailed reporting, invoicing clients, and syncing data with QuickBooks. We use it to run our business, essentially.
Every tool we need can be found in BigTime. We no longer need 3 or 4 different applications/products to conduct business.
The onboarding can be a bit strenuous, but it pays off. There is quite a bit to take in due to the fact that BigTime is capable of doing so much, and that takes a commitment of time, but also patience. Luckily their onboarding and support teams are great and very willing to assist with problems and questions.
Simplifying our project management, billing and time tracking into one place has been a huge benefit. Tracking our projects and learning from those results.
I like how simple or in-depth it can be depending on what you need. I can easily create expense reports and invoices without having to worry about anything more in-depth, but I can also track things more in-depth if I am required to.
I can't always figure out how to fix what I need easily and I can't always find answers, either.
Really we just invoice and do time-tracking, but learning about tasks today with Brea and Brannon looks promising for our future.

We used a different timer system in the past and as far as employees recording time they are very similar. BigTime allows management to get more detail and reports compared to what we used to have.

Time tracking is easier
I like that you are able to track various clients and see what you have done for them.
I dislike that you have to achieve every client after it is complete. Complete should be the last step. It should automatically change to the next date it is due if you have it under recurring.
We are using this system for billing purposes to see if we are billing customers for a correct amount of time we spend on accounting work or payroll. we are also using this to track our tax client progress and moving it to different spots.
It's easy to use and has a lot of options to choose from.
It can be kind of clunky to use and hard to get a good full page view.
