Ability to customize the location of different fields, update drop down options, choose which fields are required, and run customized searches.
Ongoing issues logging in - for some reason, it usually takes 2-3 tries. Limited mass commands when moving groups of people within bullhorn and emailing through bullhorn. The number is either capped at 500 or 2000 depending on what you're doing.
We have been able to customize this database to be most efficient for our ever-changing company needs. The well-developed searching capabilities allow us to categorize and locate information quickly.
Bullhorn is a powerful ATS with great Boolean searching capabilities and good workflow customization options.
Bullhorn has struggled to implement a reporting solution that is as good as the external products available. Automation projects done through Bullhorn Professional Services can expensive.
We use Bullhorn as our ATS to store all candidates and track candidate activity against jobs. It's both a candidate database and a recruiting workflow tool.
It keeps track of candidates, contacts, jobs, placements, etc. very well in the system so you know who has contacted whom throughout all the years at the company. It finds who the duplicate contacts are so you're never submitting or talking to someone without knowing if someone else in the company has already done so.
It doesn't link to your outlook or any other emails besides a bullhorn email, so it's confusing for our clients to receive emails from two different emails. When we submit candidates or set up meetings with our clients, it has to be done in the bullhorn email.
Keeping track of all records of who we've spoken with, what kinds of jobs we've had, how long it took for us to fill jobs, how many clients we have submitted to our contacts, which companies we are working with, and many more. It also solves the problem of duplicating contacts extremely well. It also helps each employee keep their pipeline extremely organize with the "tearsheet" tool.
All of the extensions that you can add on within the marketplace
The search and candidate profiles could be better. The ability to input duplicate profiles is also a huge waste of time. This needs to be streamlined so that if there is duplicate information then the new profile cannot be created.
We are making it a more streamlined process with candidate information. I have one place to keep all of my candidate information.
I like the layout of the tool. It is easy to use, but it does have some quirks in it.
There are a few features that could be added to help the process. I know that it can be personalized, which our company does.
I use it mostly to track applicants through our process. It does keep everything aligned when used properly.
I like the ability to search through candidates wiith address/ location parameters.
i can't think of anything that I dislike about it
Ability to search quickly through sales and candidates
I like the user interface. For the most part, you can use the search engine easily (despite the fact that you have to spell an applicant's name EXACTLY right) and the it is user friendly. The color scheme is definitely a plus as well because it is easier to read text as opposed to other sites.
I really dislike the fact that you need to be very precise with your wording when searching for applicants. Mistakes happen, and it should be able to pull up applicants who have similar spellings. I do understand the reasoning why but it would be nice to search and get results that are close to what you need. Also, there needs to be an easier way to edit interviews. I had to call customer service to figure out how to do it. There are too many steps that you would not intuitively know to find the edit button!
The primary problem I'm solving using Bullhorn is making sure that notes are always being filled out. For applicants with extensive or multiple notes, it would be nice to be able to sort through them better
The automatic data capture - from emails and texts. This could save so much time from manually inputting text and data.
Being completely on the cloud could mean things running slowly if your internet connection isn't up for the massive increase in data.
Huge time savings, not only on inputting data, but training consultants, given the ease of use and saving time through making constant improvements based on key data within the CRM.
I enjoy the many different ways in which you can use Bullhorn to keep all your contractors in order. They're always very fast to solve any of our problems to do with Procom's many accounts or even a Bullhorn wide problem.
The lack of integration into other preexisting systems my company uses to keep track of dates, notifications and files. It's a lot of hassle making double and triple sure the other systems match Bullhorn, especially in times like Audits.
Solving keeping files secure externally from internal databases. This means that if anything were to happen, we have documents and all the important information already saved somewhere easily accessible.
continued improvements to the user interface; recording of all email messages to and from candidates
not really mobile friendly, took WAY too long to be cross-browser compatible
recruiting of freelance candidates; searchability of database makes our job easier
Bullhorn is constantly innovating their product offerings and has excellent customer service from the help desk to account manager levels.
Reporting capabilities are limited and customizations and data migration projects can sometimes be a challenge.
Providing quick and easy access to our consultants and clients. We have far better data quality and control over the system than our previous CRM.
I love the search functionality of it. You don't have to remember exact spelling for names. Only the first 3 letters of the first and last name. Or you could search by phone and email as well. The system itself is really nice and intuitive.
Inability to pick up where you left off from the previous day.
Information and metrics on every aspect of our full-cycle recruiting efforts
It keeps me organized. Love the tearsheets and tasks.
I'd really like to be able to do radius searches but I find them ineffective because postal codes are not a mandatory filed.

I like that multiple people can manage contacts. I've worked on past CRM that made it difficult when more than one person owned a contact. Bullhorn is nice that multiple individuals can go in and edit and manage a contact. It is also nice that we are able to have individuals as both a client and a candidate.
I wish there was a way to add old positions to a contact without having to archive, etc. I would like to see that so-and-so used to be at ABC company before XYZ without having to pull up a linked record.
Managing clients and candidates. It makes it easier to keep track of all our organization's contacts and manage their position in the pipeline.
Bullhorn is very easy to navigate and very user friendly for our new employees.
sometimes it is slow, and "thinks" for long periods of time. Integration with other softwares such as Talentwise took 3 times longer than expected.
We mainly use BH for data storage. It is great for recruiters and sales.
The user interface is the easiest CRM I have ever used. When you open the cloud software, everything is right where you think it should be. Adding, editing and removing information is very simple. The customer service is great to work with and they are usually very helpful with questions. Users/admins also have a lot of flexibility with the fields and mapping of the different modules you plan to use.
When we first on-boarded with BH, our client advocate wasn't very helpful with the assistance of getting up and running. I had a long lead time and needed extra time to work on getting everything up and running --- it would have been nice to have an advocate who understood that - unfortunately I felt like I was rushed through the implementation process and could have done a better job customizing the program before users got into using it. Slowly I am working on updating and modifying the layout. The reporting is very simple, sometimes that can be a disadvantage.
Organization and reporting. We were lacking the ability to track opportunities in anything other than Excel, which became very messy and not very user friendly. With BH I have the ability to manipulate the information and present it in a fashion where it is C-Level. Staying organized is easy with BH, because everything is at your fingertips.
Easy functionality and user interface. Not as many functions as a top-notch CRM could have, but it has more than enough to be useful for a small/mid-sized staffing firm.
Didn't know about a lot of functions until Bullhorn provided a training course to our company, at our request. They should provide this training initially for all their customers. It was very helpful.
CRM, contact storage, meeting notes, candidate info, task reminders
Easy to track notes and emails / easy to teach to new users. Easy to setup call lists and organize your day. Searches are easy to execute and how to guides in system walk you thru anything you could want to do
Biggest area for improvement from bullhorn would be support... Suggestion - Work towards a goal of requiring less calls from customer to resolve backend bullhorn issues (issues that the user can't fix on their own). Support will not troubleshoot all users for a company when contacted with a issue by the company admin.
Smaller firm with multiple locations issues to address is looping everyone in from multiple locations to work in environment where data is easily shared.
Bullhorn has amazing flexibility within its fields. My company doesn't have the mold of the regular bullhorn company, but I see bullhorn adding value to my firm. It seems like it will manage organization of companies and contacts well, and has ease of use and variability among workers.
It has been frustrating in the implementation process having to talk through all of my systems with our account manager when I had already done that with my sales person. There was also some unclearness in what could and couldn't be done, and we are finding that out as we want to start.
We are trying to solve the problems of lost information, lack of inefficiency, and difficulty of use. We choose bullhorn being able to see it could fix those problems
Features like Power Search, Speed Review
Limitations on look and feel of job boards
Talent Acquisitions
Bullhorn allows you to create tasks to remind yourself to follow up regarding candidates. The saved search features also help you save a lot of time.
The searching features are challenging, as you cannot search by first name only, and the system can only search if you spell the name exactly. The same goes for searching with clients--it would be much quicker if the system could recognize similar words and phrases.
I use the ATS for HR purposes. Overall, it's helpful to view the notes and email tracking to understand what's happening with our candidates.
When my company used Bullhorn a few years back we really liked the ease of use of the UI. It was very well organized and intuitive, something that certainly can not be said for all of their competitors. The system was very straightforward in how it handled candidates' movement through the interview/offer/hiring process. Also, the email integration with Outlook was very helpful. Overall, for the recruiters/salespeople, it was a very pleasant system to use.
At the time that we used Bullhorn there were intermittent periods where the system would go down completely. Granted this was a few years ago now, but every time it would happen our company would be losing money. It wouldn't happen all the time, thankfully, but when it would happen it'd typically be at least 30-45 minutes of downtime. Also, from what I was told, the back-office/reporting/payroll portions of the system were definitely a weak area for the application. Admittedly, that wasn't a portion of the application I used directly, but I heard from a number of people that it was that weakness that was a major factor in my company moving away from Bullhorn.
Bullhorn was our all-in-one system for tracking our candidates, clients, billing, invoicing, reporting, etc. For several years it met our needs and was embraced by the majority of our users.
As a manger of a recruitment team, JS offers a superb reporting function and ATS system where I can track and manage the process at all stages and understand the teams performance at all times. Very powerful tool with a few tweaks needed for it to be perfect.
The search function needs to be improved and understand that a new release is due soon as it pulls through too many contacts that are "close" but not perfect matches.
Effective recruitment tool that will enhance activity and productivity.
A great tool and really enables you to get the most from your search.
Usability is great however website can initially look overwhelming however this is a very small dislike and easily overcome.
Understanding the market place.
Smart Searching Technology - Easy to use and has extensive ways to search
Often has a lag when searching - tends to hang for several minutes quite often.
Recruitment is the industry. Find it useful to find people we already have on the system.
Bullhorn easily integrates many features that a in-house system usually does not. It allows me to be more efficient and more productive in a fast paced recruiting environment. I like how it tracks a candidate from initial conversation--sourced candidate--submittal--client submittal-- client interview and finally the placement!
If they only had a working email system or one that integrates seamlessly into outlook. They do integrate into Outlook Web App but have many issues specifically automatic logging of emails into bullhorn. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.
I use the software to streamline my recruitment processes into an integrated system that track all the way through to a placement. Increased efficiency significantly over a in-house CRM.
Easy to use. posts to LinkedIn, another way to generate resumes
Can be a bit slow at times, only works with Internet Explorer
Another resource to post jobs for those hard to fill positions
Easy to use and got a decent response. One of my collegue introduced me to Bullhorn and glad to use it.
can't think of any. i can only talk from technical recruiter perspective.
Getting qualified candidates and easy to interact. Candidates are actively looking for my post and that was time worth spending.
The ability to tag my colleagues in notes so they can see after I speak to someone and what I need from them.
Inability to parse resumes from the Monster SeeMore search. Also wish when I quick search a candidate by name that I could sort by location so I can find them easir. I know I can do this from the normal search function, but If I am already running a search it makes it difficult.
Bullhorn is essential in our day to day function of work in tracking candidates and knowing who I spoke to for certain positions and allows to follow up with people I need to.
Bullhorn is a nice, lightweight SAAS ATS. It can log candidates, companies, jobs, and placement.
Bullhorn has gotten better over the years but was a very clunkly, limited software. It does not interface with payroll as well and does not fully interact with the website job board as well as we would like. Other HCM platforms are stronger in this regard. Bullhorn is an ATS and is not a complete solution such as Ultipro.
I used this for recruiting. It is nice because it allows me to login from anywhere, the interface is similar to outlook, and it is lightweight.
