CaptivateIQ publishes a pricing page with no prices on it — but it does publish the two things that decide your bill. Seats are counted as admin users plus every payee whose commission runs on the platform, and there is a one-time setup fee on top of the subscription. Those two sentences are worth more than a rate card, because they tell you the quote scales with your sales headcount, not with your finance team.
- What it is: A sales commission and incentive compensation platform for calculating, tracking, and paying variable comp — the sales performance management category.
- Best for: Companies with enough reps and enough plan complexity that spreadsheets have started producing disputes.
- Pricing: Not published. Per-seat subscription plus a one-time setup fee, quoted after a call. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: A “seat” includes every rep being paid, so a 50-rep team is a 50-plus-seat deal.
What Is CaptivateIQ?
CaptivateIQ replaces the commission spreadsheet. Sales compensation plans accumulate exceptions — accelerators, clawbacks, splits, ramp periods, quota changes mid-quarter — and past a certain headcount the spreadsheet that models them becomes both slow and untrustworthy. The platform ingests CRM and billing data, applies the plan rules, and produces statements each rep can see and query.
It sits at the more serious end of the category. CaptivateIQ cites placement in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Sales Performance Management, more than 1,000 customer teams, a third of the Cloud 100, and a 94% CSAT score across over 2,500 G2 reviews. This is enterprise software sold the enterprise way, and the absence of published pricing is a deliberate part of that positioning rather than an oversight.
How CaptivateIQ Works
- Per-seat subscription, with no published rate.
- Seats = admin users + payees. Every rep whose compensation is managed on the platform counts.
- A one-time setup fee applies on top of the subscription, disclosed on the pricing page.
- You choose seats and integrations; CaptivateIQ supplies implementation and support.
- Reporting is included — explicitly no extra charge, which is not universal in this category.
- Implementation is the default path, delivered in-house or through a systems-integrator partner.
CaptivateIQ Pricing
There is no rate card to reproduce. What follows is what CaptivateIQ actually states on its pricing page, verified July 2026.
| What is published | What it means for your quote |
|---|---|
| Per-seat pricing “that doesn’t skyrocket over time” | Recurring cost scales with headcount, not usage |
| Seats = admins + payees | Your rep count is the primary driver |
| A one-time setup fee | Year one costs more than the run rate |
| Reporting included | No separate analytics line item |
| Integrations you select | Scope, and likely price, varies by connection count |
| Implementation, in-house or via an SI | A services component alongside the licence |
What actually decides your cost:
- The seat definition is the whole story. Buyers instinctively price commission software against the size of the team operating it — three or four people in finance and revenue operations. CaptivateIQ counts admins plus payees, so a 50-rep organisation with a three-person comp team is a 53-seat deal, not a 3-seat one. Model it that way before the first call, and the quote will not surprise you.
- The setup fee is disclosed, and you should ask for it separately. CaptivateIQ states it plainly rather than burying it, which is to its credit. Ask for the licence and the one-time fee as two numbers, then compare year-one total cost against a run-rate figure from any competitor quoting differently.
- Implementation is assumed. One of CaptivateIQ’s own FAQ entries is “We’ve done compensation for a while, can we skip the implementation?” — a question a vendor only publishes because buyers ask it often. Whether it can be waived, and what that saves, is worth raising explicitly.
- Reporting being included is a genuine differentiator. In enterprise software, analytics is a routine upsell. CaptivateIQ states there is no extra charge for its reporting solution, which removes one common surprise line.
- Growth costs money automatically. Because payees are seats, hiring reps increases your subscription with no upgrade decision involved. Ask how mid-term headcount changes are handled and whether seat counts true up or down.
- Nothing here can be self-served. Every path on the page leads to a form. Budget evaluation time accordingly, and start the conversation earlier than you would for a published-price tool.
Who Should Use CaptivateIQ
- Companies with complex commission plans. Accelerators, splits, ramps, and clawbacks are precisely where spreadsheets fail and where the platform earns its cost.
- Organisations where comp disputes consume real time. Rep-facing statements remove the recurring argument about whose number is right.
- Finance teams with ASC-606 obligations. Commission amortisation reporting is a stated capability and a genuine compliance driver.
- Mid-market and enterprise revenue teams. The customer roster — Vimeo, Expedia, Gong, Boston Scientific, Deel — indicates where it fits.
It fits poorly for small teams with simple flat-rate plans, where a spreadsheet genuinely suffices; for companies that need published pricing to shortlist; and for anyone paying a handful of people, where the seat model offers no scale advantage.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Serious category standing. Gartner Magic Quadrant placement and 1,000-plus customer teams.
- Strong customer sentiment. 94% CSAT across more than 2,500 G2 reviews.
- Reporting included rather than sold as an analytics add-on.
- Transparent about the setup fee even while withholding rates.
- Multiple implementation routes — in-house experts, SI partners, or self-paced training.
- Purpose-built for plan complexity, which is the actual reason to leave spreadsheets.
Limitations
- No published pricing at all. Not a starting figure, not a range.
- Payees count as seats, so cost tracks sales headcount directly.
- A one-time setup fee raises year-one cost above the run rate.
- Implementation is the default, adding a services cost and a timeline.
- Sales-led evaluation only. No trial, no self-serve, no way to size it privately.
- Overkill below a certain scale, where the platform cost exceeds the pain it removes.
CaptivateIQ Alternatives and How It Compares
- Xactly and Varicent are the established enterprise incumbents, similarly quote-only and typically heavier to implement.
- Spiff, now part of Salesforce, is the natural shortlist entry for organisations already standardised on Sales Cloud.
- Everstage and QuotaPath target smaller and mid-market teams, with QuotaPath the most likely to publish a usable entry price.
- Performio competes directly on plan complexity for mid-market revenue teams.
- HubSpot Sales Hub and Pipedrive are not comparable products, but they are where the deal data lives — check the integration before shortlisting anything.

The Verdict
CaptivateIQ is a credible, well-regarded product solving a problem that is genuinely expensive to leave alone. Commission errors cost trust as well as money: a rep who has been underpaid once checks every statement afterwards, and a comp team that spends the first week of each quarter reconciling spreadsheets is not doing analysis. The 94% CSAT across 2,500-plus G2 reviews and the Gartner placement suggest the platform delivers on that, and reporting being included rather than upsold is a small but real mark of good faith.
The pricing page is the interesting artefact. It carries no numbers, which is normal in this category and mildly irritating in all of them — but it does disclose the two mechanics that determine what you pay, and that is more useful than a headline rate. Seats are admin users plus every payee, so your subscription is indexed to sales headcount rather than to the size of the team running the tool. And there is a one-time setup fee on top. Neither is hidden; both are easy to miss when you are scanning a page for a dollar sign.
So run the call with your own arithmetic already done. Count your payees, add your admins, and treat that as the seat number. Ask for the licence and the setup fee as two separate figures so you can compare year-one cost properly. Ask whether implementation can be reduced given your existing maturity — CaptivateIQ’s own FAQ shows that question comes up. And ask how seats behave when headcount moves mid-term, because in a per-payee model hiring is an automatic price increase. Do that, and the absence of a rate card stops being a disadvantage; without it, you will be negotiating from whatever number the vendor opens with.
FAQ
How much does CaptivateIQ cost?
CaptivateIQ does not publish prices. Its pricing page describes a per-seat subscription plus a one-time setup fee, with the actual figures quoted after a call. What it does publish is how seats are counted — admin users plus every payee whose compensation is managed on the platform — which means your cost tracks the size of your sales team. Reporting is explicitly included at no extra charge.
How does CaptivateIQ count seats?
Seats are the number of admin users plus the total number of payees managing their compensation on the platform. In practice that means every rep on a commission plan is a billable seat, not just the finance and revenue operations staff who build the plans. A company with 50 reps and a three-person compensation team should model roughly 53 seats rather than three, which is the single most common mispricing when buyers first approach the category.
Is there a setup fee?
Yes. CaptivateIQ’s pricing page states a one-time setup fee alongside the per-seat subscription, so year-one cost is higher than the run rate. Ask for the two numbers separately when you request a quote — it makes year-one totals comparable against competitors who structure implementation differently, and it clarifies what you are paying for once versus every year.
Can I try CaptivateIQ without talking to sales?
No. There is no free trial, no self-serve checkout, and no published rate, so every evaluation path runs through a meeting. That is standard for enterprise sales performance management, but it does mean budgeting more evaluation time than a published-price tool requires. Do your seat arithmetic before the call so you can sanity-check the quote against your own model.
What is CaptivateIQ best for?
Companies with enough sales headcount and enough plan complexity — accelerators, splits, ramps, clawbacks, ASC-606 amortisation — that managing commissions in spreadsheets has become slow, error-prone, or a source of disputes with reps. It is a weaker fit for small teams on flat-rate plans, where the seat-based cost outweighs the problem being solved, and for buyers who need published pricing to build a shortlist.
Everything is in one spot, ability to validate all commissions paid on time and in full. Super easy to set up and start receiving updates. I use it every single month.
No downsides! I do receive two, separate emails on a monthly basis so not sure why....
Easily tracks all commissions and ensures that everything is paid on time
How everything is displayed on a dashboard.
Not much to dislike about the platform. Very intuitive and easy to manage.
Keeping track of closed won revenue and commissions along with clawbacks
Ease of use. Over the 12+ months we've been using it, I've had no issues maneuvering around the platform to do what I need to do or find what I need to find. It works seamlessly throughout our organization.
The only "issue" I've encountered is with the UI, where some pieces seem to be redundant or not too clear. Though that could be on the org.'s end and not the platform.
It's keeping precise and organized records of sales comp., allowing for transparency and quality data.
CaptivateIQ is a great tool for me to track my individual progress as well as my direct reports. It does a great job of showing my team where they are tracking towards their goals and helps provide motiviation throughout the year.
Nothing sticks out. If I had to pick something I would be interested in having the data be more easily filtered at the user level in Dashboards.
Before CaptivateIQ, I was not as easily to have performance conversations with my reports as it relates to their goaling.
Easy to use, straight forward, helps me keep track of my commission payouts
Nothing. Reliable resource that's always up to date
Captivate is solving the problem of ot being exactly sure where your commission dollar is on a month to month basis and relieving me of the task of manual tracking.
Clear tracking, easy to use and properly summarized
Sometimes the application takes time to update
It gives me clear tracking of my sales compensation and also my performance
CaptivateIQ is a polished tool. Extremely easy to use, integrates with Salesforce wonderfully, and overall their support team is awesome whenever we need them. We use this monthly for sales commissions. The sales team loves it too, and makes things very transparent in regards to their comp. Implementation was smooth.
The learning curve is steep. New hires had a difficult time building out reports and functions, so while it's intuitive after you know how to use it, the learning curve wasn't very intuitive.
Captivate is helping streamline compensation. Previously you'd be working in excel, but this makes things so much easier. Fewer errors, more transparency, overall benefiting the compensation org drastically.
Easy and accurate reporting that allows me to check my incentives and double check my sales numbers.
Formatting is weird at times, decimal points are off and currency isn't displayed properly.
Transparency in bonus compensation
It details exactly what commission you will receive and allows you to review the deals that have been completed, easy to view and understand.
You can only see a preview of the next month, sometimes it would be good to see a month or two past that but only a small dislike.
Showing me the commission clearly, all detailed and verified from salesforce. I don't need to run any queries. It just has it all listed out.
It's tied right into our comp plan and makes it easy to see where you're at from an attainment perspective, what you're making on each deal, and how each deal impacts your #.
I haven't noticed any downsides. I'm an individual contributor, so I'm not sure about the management side of things.
Visibility into commission and how each deal impacts. Running totals, shows you what to expect in your check each month, etc.
Intuitive, so I can get things done fast
Honestly, nothing. Seems well integrated and always does what it should.
Glimpse for planning and my budget goals.
It's very intuitive, easy to use, and makes managing commissions super easy. It's also very easy for my team to use, and understand how they are getting paid.
There isn't really anything negative I have to say about the tool. It's great for easy of use and visiblity.
Visiblity to my team on what they are getting paid on, and how much every month. They also are able to see history of commissions as well. It really helps make things cut and dry and eliminate any grey areas of "how am i getting paid".
It is always available, and quick and easy to use.
Not being able to query the future month until the current month has past.
Staff are kept informed on there commission. Less admin
I like the detailised graphics of my payouts
Nothing at all this is the best. nothing gets better than the best

Every month I look forward for the email from Captivate for the incentives payout. and its soo precise and well explained. best service. :-)
The service is perfect, nothing to dislike..!
It helps me know my incentives before hand and that way I can manage and plan my finances for the upcoming month.
Best software to check my incentives and plan the upcoming months based on the detailed description in CAPTIVATE IQ.
Nothing to disclike as this is at its best
Best software to check my incentives and plan the upcoming months based on the detailed description in CAPTIVATE IQ.
It's simple and i dont encounter any complications.
Nothing that i dislike. I would really recommend it to my connections.
It shows the breakdown of our monthly incentives.
Very effective and efficient platform and easy to use.
I don't dislike anything about the platform!
I am able to see my commission in real-time with no errors
Captivate IQ is robust and comprehensive but also easy to navigate so I can quickly get the information I need. Our entire sales team started using this about 2 months ago and it's was very easy to implement. I use it frequently send messages within the platform and check commissions real-time. Everything is very streamlined and accurate. I would definitely recommend this to other businesses.
I would like there to be an easier to find button for "creating a task".
CaptivateIQ allows me and my team members to have real-time commissions data at our finger tips. It helps me to set sales goals, stay accountable, and stay motivated. The platform saves time in retrieving the information it provides and streamlining the activities related to my sales role.
I love how Captivate allows me to keep track of my comp plan and quota attainment goals and narrow in on my commission statements, making sure all things are accurate.
Captivate is a relatively expensive commission management platform, particularly for small businesses. While the platform does offer advanced features, the cost may be prohibitive for some companies.
Captivate helps me solve the problem of accurately tracking and managing my commissions. It automates the commission calculation process, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheets and reducing the risk of errors (thank god). Captivate also provides transparency into how commissions are calculated, so I can quickly see how much I've earned and what factors are contributing to my payout. Additionally, CIQ saves me time to focus on selling by eliminating the need for manual calculations and disputes with management over commissions. Overall, this lets me stay motivated and focused on driving sales by providing a clear, accurate, automated commission management process. JM
CaptivateIQ gives me a easy and accurate look at where I am at for quota retirement as well as commissions on the month. I have found since leveraging this tool it has pushed me to close more business as I try to beat my previous months numbers! I log in atleast twice a week to check and it takes no more than 5 minutes of my time.
The modules do take a minute or two to load, while the detail provided around each payout is extensive it would be nice if it was available at a moments notice. This would be the only improvement I can think to call out, overall excellent tool!
Prior to Captivate IQ I had to manually track my sales and then estimate my commision based on the our payout structure. This was almost always off when I receved my official payout at the end of each month. I had to keep a workbook that tracked my sales, when they would be invoiced, and the % payout for that service. I have been able to abandon that entire workbook (and take the time back to keep up with the workbook) since our company implemented Captivate IQ.
Simplifies and automates the sales commission process. Customizable and adaptable to various commission structures.
Requires a small learning curve during the setup. No isue though.
Sales commission
I like how it makes comp clear and easy to understand
Nothing, CapitaveIQ has been a great product.
It is solving the difficulty of understanding comp and predicting pay outs.
I love how CaptivateIQ tracks and breaks down my monthly wins. The platform is easy to use and excites me to see the business I closed!
I don't have anything I truly dislike about Captivate IQ but I do wish it would give a more detailed breakdown of the leads I closed for the month.
Ease of use to track monthly leads won and commission payout.
Easy to use, clean dashboard, and fairly simple layout. Email notifications are not too annoying either!
N/A really- I like the platform but do think it could be made more easy to understand!
It is solving for my quota attainment
I love how incredibly easy it is to see both me and my teamd break down of commission. I can easily direct them to their account as well and quickly identify any errors. Also enjoy that I can see it broken down by SPIFFs and different metrics.
I haven't experiened any downsides really. It would be nice if you could contact your RevOps team right from the dashboard to report and resolve issues instead of taking it to email.
It solves the issue of seeing what my commission is and how it was caluclated. I'm also able to quickly identify any areas that need to be corrected in terms of me or my teams pay out.
The best part about CaptivateIQ is how clean and easy it is to understand. Nothing is more frustrating as a sales rep when the numbers are not adding up at the end of the month for what you expect to receive vs. what the commission calculator displays. CaptivateIQ helps to reduce that headache
I have yet to experience any significant downsides when using the platform. It's more so a two-time-per-month check-in to review and approve payouts and understand how my pay fluctuates monthly.
They're solving how to report to reps their earning without all the confusion. Everything is broken down into line items and accurately represents where you stand each month.
Easily see your commissions by month. This pulls right out of Sales Force and save me time reconciling what was sold and what was missed.
I honestly cannot think of anythin. CaptivateIQ does what it says and does it very well.
CaptivateIQ - allows me to quickly see my commissions all in one place and what has been paid and what I need to collect all in one place.
