* The web interface is very intuitive and pleasant to look at. * Maintenance is generally performed without service disruption -- I've had a droplets run for years without needing a restart. * Pricing is reasonable and affordable. * DO has expanded their service offering from just Droplets and continues to grow.
* Not as fully featured as AWS, Azure or GCP * Cheapest droplet has been $5 for a decade despite increases in computing power. A cheaper, less powerful minimum would be nice.
It's a nice way to spin up virtual machines for hosting web applications and other services, on either a temporary or permanent basis. It's my service provider of choice for simple tasks.
DigitalOcean has a control panel that respects the fact that you only need to go in there infrequently, and it's laid out very nicely. It's not a chore to go in! But also just the speed and reliability.
DigitalOcean is adding new products that self-conflict with their core services. I consider this to be bloat, and the efforts should be spent on solely enhancing their core services.
DigitalOcean provides reliable and fast services which destroy AWS no matter how you slice it. The control panel is better, the speeds are higher, the cost is lower, and I use exclusively DigitalOcean.
As a software development company specializing in Web Application Development, servers are key to success. DigitalOcean VPS is easy to start and maintain.
The backup cost is too high. It can be reduced and may be incorporated with the DO Spaces
We use their VPS - Droplets. I invoke a new droplet for each project. It helps me to keep organized.
easy to setup, no hassle to configure and reliable
the lack of all server zones locations, more in south america and australia
simplicity to manage all our web infrastructure and multiple manager management approach and easy scaling up our operations as we need
The dashboard is clean and intuitive. They have lots of tiers of droplets that are super easy to scale up and down.
Switching teams is a bit slow if i had to think of one thing.
It makes it super easy for me to deploy an idea quickly.
The big thing about DigitalOcean is that I'm a client for more than 3 years and never got disconnected. All my servers stood up all the moment! And with a average cost it delivers a great box configuration
Not a big fan of the settings page, could be simpler
I have some clients that need access to their apps online and I'm using as a app deployer container
As a software developer, Digitalocean provides me with the ideal environment and allows me to focus comfortably on my software project. It gives me the opportunity to publish my work securely with its competitive price and extensive access opportunities.
The only thing I feel is missing is a graphical management (domain, email, etc.) panel. But despite the many possibilities and features it offers, it's still something I can easily overlook.
Digitalocean enables me to bring my projects to life quickly and at the cheapest possible price. This not only saves me time, but also provides financial gain on every project.
Service Support and k=lowest price market for an extreme high quality service .
not many gifts for returning clients I am Fidel and I'd like to be treated as.
Cheap and performant VPS hosting and NDS management.
DigitalOcean has the simplest and esiest
Default VPC cannot be deleted at the moment
Automated infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
You get 100usd credit to play with and explore the platform it provides
Nothing as such. If they can provide something like cli will be helpful
I am looking for affordable servers for my small clients and it perfectly matches my client budget.
DigitalOcean is very easy to install applications and one of the best cloud services, in terms of quality and speed, on the market.
I have nothing to complain about. The platform manages to meet me completely in all aspects.
I create websites in Wordpress via Cyberpanel (which I install very easily when creating the Droplet). After installing Cyberpanel, I configure DNS records to install the websites I manage in wordpress. On these websites I also create e-commerce platforms via Woocommerce.
You can start with minimum requirements and increase your environment settings as the app becomes more popular. Then, you simply increase the allocated resources.
Setting up SSH and remote access to your server might be difficult for beginners. It used to be even more complicated in the past.
I deploy web applications either for testing purposes only (which I then move to a production environment, sometimes one owned by the client), or for final point deployment.
it gives a stand-alone server with whatever your need of configuration, the best thing about this is that it's fixed price so you don't need to worry about billing, it won't exceed the cost and it will always be of fixed cost.
its lowest-cost server are not very good for the docker deployed application, it just won't work properly, even for the staging environment you have to purchase a bit of cost server, unlike Heroku which gives free of cost server for staging and testing applications.
make my application available throughout the globe. as I get stand-alone dedicated servers i won't need to worry about the performance, also I can scale my server with just one click with the known fixed cost.
The simplicity of being able to control my entire client ecosphere from a web-browser is huge.
Honestly, for the price, I really have zero complaints.
We build web and mobile applications, and having the ability to spin up a multi-tiered application environment very quickly during prototyping is a big advantage over self-hosted, clunky solutions
Easy to use and get going with projects. Documentation is excellent. Very reliable and good communications when there is an issue (which is rare).
Wish there was some way to get better help. Would be happy to pay to have an engineer on hand in emergencies.
Able to host my websites easily and affordable. Easy to scale when needed.
I love its balance feature because most of the other cloud providers ask about credit cards. I also love its payment option and I always love to pay with Paypal, but I also prefer GPay.
I wish the price could be cheaper and I also wish for a GPU droplet at an affordable price including the Windows OS option. Honestly, I will use a GPU droplet for mining so it should be profitable for miners. Sometimes, I feel login with authentication is too much and I wish there could be a better option for security.
Honestly, Linux VM needn't change port because it could be scanned with Nmap and It also needn't use Dovecot for IMAP and POP3 because Postfix also has IMAP and POP3 features.
Easy to find settings; Clear documentation; Beautiful dashboard layout; Community; Server setup made easy; Services at one-click like backup and DNS;
Nothing to comment on untill now. DO is a great service.
Hosting WordPress and PHP websites; Managing DNS, and backups;
The simplicity. The UI is easy to use, and services easy to understand and configure.
We all want things to be cheaper don't we? I think the only other thing I would change is to make new services available in all zones sooner.
Webapp and Microservice hosting. The simplicity of getting services to work together and to be able to automate with Terraform.
DigitalOcean is a modern easy to use Cloud provider that will fulfill all your needs without vacuuming all your quarterly budget allowances. It has balanced compute instances, dedicated databases, Kubernetes, and an App platform to get your MVP out as soon as possible.
Nothing, they always ask what we would like to see in the future, what do we miss from other platforms, and then update their offerings :D
I'm running a home server away from home, with 100%* uptime, without having to deal with noise, the heat, or the home-level ISP issues you would find doing this at home
Pricing and Reliability as well as the newly introduced services offering SaaS
The absense of correspondent service catalouhe similar to AWS
Mainly on hosting and template based droplets , this side by side the low pricing helped me to build my workspace for development
