Gusto is the best time-tracking application that I have ever used. I really like how it keeps track of all of my hours- not just daily, but through the payperiod and year. It is very easy to us and easy to change things like banking info and address changes. I love the little pig "mascot" as well and how he changes outfits based off the season. Gusto is so easy to use, even for those who have a hard time with technology. I have use this application everyday. I would deffinitey recommend it to all business owners.
There is not much I don't like about Gusto, but I think the phone app is not as good as the website. On the phone app I am unable to see the exact time that I clock-out for lunch (for example), so it's hard to know when it's time to clock back in.
Gusto takes care of time tracking and payroll. It also keeps track of employee birthdays and anniversary dates.
Gusto has a very simple and user-friendly UI. It is very nicely integrated and implenented and it is very easy to review paystubs, request PTO, submit expenses for reimbursemtn, view the company calendar, colleagues' information, taxes information, miscellaneous forms and personal information. Their customer support is very convenient; you get support within a few minutes. I use Gusto at least twice a month to review paystubs and on a yearly basis for tax forms. Great HR partner!
Nothing so far. I'm very happy with Gusto!
It solves complex HR software where it is difficult and tedious to find information acout the company and other HR features and employees' benefits.
Super easy to use website, has all the forms I need with easy access, always get my paycheck in timely fashion.
There are no downsides to Gusto in my experience.
Helps me have all my payroll information organized and easy to access.
The ease of use with online banking, and the features to split your paycheck, start a savings account, and see your yearly earnings.
Nothing at all. Gusto provides great customer service. Although free ATM's are not a function of the debit card.
Allowing me to budget and clearly understand my finances.
Gusto has made my life so much easier - from putting in my hours, to checking my benefits, to asking for time off - it's GREAT!
Actually there is nothing I dislike about Gusto!
ease of tracking my time worked
ability to change payroll as fast and adjust to what your employee promotes you
you have your account and can avoid misunderstanding
ability to get pay fast and understand pay
It is extremely user friendly, and so helpful when it comes to setting up payroll for new employees. It's so easy to set up taxes for my team, submit payroll, and keep my accountant and bookkeeper connected for tax time! I've used their customer support a few times and have always found them to be attentive and help resolve my issues quickly! I use it biweekly and found it very easy to integrate into my team.
I haven't found many dislikes - for the most part, I am really happy with this service!
Payroll, setting up and paying taxes neccesary
I think that Gusto has an incredibly friendly user interface and experience. Above all, I like having one central location where I can request time off, view/download paystubs, ask for reimbursements, and complete performance evaluations. I use Gusto a lot and am always discovering new useful features. It's also nice having email alerts about pay days and approved PTO sent to me.
I haven't experienced any downsides or challenges that I can recall
Gusto is a one-stop shop for our agency. We don't have to log in to a bunch of different spots or bog someone down with emails related to PTO, payroll, performance evals, etc. The tutorials and insights were super helpful for onboarding so I feel like all of the employees have a solid grasp. What's great too is that employees can really customize their experience and set up their own dashboards.
Set up was super simple. My employees filled out all their info online and were able to easily set up direct deposit. The Gusto support team is easy to talk to and responsive.
I had some difficulty setting up my state employment tax and figuring out a post-dated payment.
All my payroll and employment taxes.
Simplicity of use, low cost, excellent customer support.
I can't think of anything to dislike. I can't even think of anything they can add.
Gusto takes care of my tax payments, payroll-including direct deposit for employees, disability and worker's compensation payments.
My manager who manages my salary and pay was able to make last minute changes on a number of occasions to accomodate emergent pay requirements. In addition, Gusto allows the flexibility for me to work under a 1099 and a W2 (not simultaneously, of course), and keep all accounting for each separate for a fiscal year. My tax accountant is impressed with the completness, accuracy and compliance Gusto provides for end of the year tax purposes.
My only complaint, and it was really a learning curve for me, is I was unaware that Gusto managed my pay in two separate places, but defaulted to the brief period in which I worked under a 1099. Other than that it's intuitive.
Easy and flexible; supports complex payrolls.
How simple it is to use and how helpful the service is.
It would be great if they could offer some advice on other business tax information to help save money on taxes.
Gusto is handling all of my payroll duties as well as providing me with all the tax documentation that I need for taxes.
It is friendly to use, it is quirky, customer support is really there.
On one occasion i had to follow up with support. I would like more information on federal forms, explained as 101 training

- One-time effort to setup payroll *However they guide you every step of a very long and complicated process - Could benefit from an AI chatbot
Paying employees where you need to calculate wages, taxes based on hours worked
Gusto gives me full insights into the things that impact my payroll.
I really can't find any flaws in Gusto. When I have needed help or support, that has always been prompt and professional.
My compnay uses talent worldwide; Gusto allows us to pay all our contracts promptly.
Gusto has been amazing in setting up our non-profit as well as all submitting the necessary documents. The platform is easy to use and informative.
The wait times for assistance can be long.
No problems, it has been an ease working with Gusto.
Gusto is by far the best payroll system for the small to mid-market in America! We've been pleasantly surprised with just how accurate and fast Gusto was to respond during the COVID crisis to help us apply for the PPP Loan. They have a pretty seemless/automated process for onboarding new employees, registering in new states, and filing taxes. Integration with Guideline 401(k) and Benefits is great and what we really needed. Pricing is competitive as well!
Support is not as great as it used to be, longer response times, but quality is still high so maintaining the 10/10 rating still. Doesn't support NetSuite for Payroll or HRIS, so we have lots of manual processes. Integration with third-party applications doesn't support delegating access to files/data/calendar/etc. to the manager/IT Manager, so unfortunately we cannot make use of the User Account Provisioning features they recently added. Cannot delete employee locations, so the list of Company Addresses just keeps growing and growing...not too scalable...
Integrated Payroll / Benefits Administration.
I find it very user-friendly! The payroll feature syncs well with Quickbooks Time, making payroll simple to run. It is also easy to onboard our employees.
I wish their timesheets synced with quickbooks
We would not be able to run payroll without them. I like that they included the time sheets, however, we can't use it yet because it doesn't sync with QuickBooks.
I've really enjoyed having Gusto with my company. For years, I felt like I was constantly asking my payroll department for information or updates. Since using Gusto- I never have to talk to that guy 😂
At times, I had been difficult to find exactly what I’m looking for (I've moved a few times & when things need to updated, I've been lost for maybe a few minutes). But it is things you don't need until you need them. Everyday items are super easy to locate & access
It totally eliminates the constant questions to payroll, the constant "how much PTO time do I have left", "can I get a copy of my paystub" or other tax related questions.
Gusto is very user focused in terms of their online interface and plethora of help docs. It's pretty simple to figure out your way around. Gusto provides me with an easy way to run payroll. In the few times I've had a question, their customer service members have provided thorough answers in a pretty timely manner. Previously, I had tried another payroll processing company that was expensive and cumbersome. Gusto is a breath of fresh air compared to that.
May be overkill for the owner-operator business model. Clearly Gusto is capable of handling much larger and more complex businesses. In my case I only need a simple payroll solution to pay myself, the sole employee, to stay compliant to the IRS as an S-Corp. Unfortunately, in the last few years Gusto has phased out their lower plans that cater to the little guy like me, so that they no longer offer their Basic service. Now, even their lowest plan is far more than I need, and I'm paying more than I did a few years ago.
Gusto keeps me compliant with state and federal governments regarding taxes.
